Trump's Benghazi. But, of course, you'll never hear anyone on the Right admit it.

Private contractor used to evacuate US forces in Niger ambush

The website thedrive.com was first to report that a private contractor was used in the evacuations given that Sgt. La David Johnson was left behind.

White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said Wednesday that President Donald Trump can't be satisfied with the military operation in Niger that left four men dead, but declined to comment on the details of the raid.

"I believe they are still looking into the details of that. But I don't think the President can ever be satisfied when there is a loss of life from men and women in uniform," Sanders said when asked about Trump's reaction to the details of the raid.

Lip service, Sarah. Lip service. Fact is, Trump let those soldiers die...and, worse, his money grubbing private contractor left a guy behind.

Hey, maybe he can talk about Obama some more. That should keep the idiots distracted.

Did he? Did Trump give an order that resulted in someone being "left behind"? Did he even order the whatever it was?

I was sick of this **** under Obama.

Before reading the link in full, I need to know what the allegation is. Specifically, how is it that Trump should reasonably have known about the issue in question, should reasonably known about the dangers posed, and unreasonably failed to do anything to save them.

"The buck stops here" was a political slogan. It's not a logical binding rule. There are things the President can be expected to know about, and then there are ten ****loads of things he cannot be reasonably expected to know about. We've got over 320,000,000 people in this country. Several million work for the federal government, whether military or civilian. The President cannot possibly know about every last damned thing regardless of where someone said a buck stops.

I despise the turd (turd sandwich? Turd mountain? Turd-neutron star?), but the mark of civilization is to be fair to those who do not deserve fairness.

It's no different than Benghazi. Hence, it's Trump's Benghazi. Simple math.

But the Benghazi stuff was a disgustingly cynical political hatchet job. Two wrongs make two wrongs. Three wrongs, in fact, if the people who complained about the first are cool with the second. Four, if people defend the second but complain about the first.

Obviously, we don't blame presidents for a consulate attack without further detail, full stop. Bush didn't get blamed, Clinton didn't, etc etc etc.

Even if Trump accumulates enough **** to warp space and time, he still should not be subject to an attack that wasn't fair the last time around.

That line of argument comes off as "unhinged". To listen to some of you on the left, one would think that the President is superman and must deploy on every mission to guarantee that nothing goes wrong. Military combat is dangerous and sometimes soldiers get killed. Every recruit knows what he or she is getting into and what could happen, yet they sign up and serve anyway. Trump was giving the woman's son a compliment. However that drooling nut job of a congresswoman who strangely embedded herself in the funeral service all the way up to riding in the car with the grieving family did not have the smarts to work it out. She was merely out to damage Trump.

He could have sent real troops to rescue those soldiers. Why didn't he? Trump let them die.

Did Trump blame the Nigeria operation on a Youtube video?

He told the dead soldier's widow that he knew what he was getting into. So, Trump didn't care a hell of a lot. At least, he did not care enough to use real soldiers to rescue American troops in trouble. Slam dunk.

Did Hillary give a similar order in Libya?

Has trump ever told the truth about anything?

Do you ever blame Trump for anything, or is it always some one elses fault?

Has Trump blamed it on a YouTube video?

Trump didn't say anything for 12 days. Some leader he is turning out to be.

What makes you think those contractors left a guy behind? Are you making **** up again?

In any case, this is nothing like Benghazi...no matter how much you try to spin it.

Only 1% of Americans could tell that greving mother that her dead son "knew what he was getting into." Trump does not belong in that 1%.

Benghazi was a convenient ruse for the political season, nothing else. Not a single democrat was ever found guilty of any wrong doing, but that never stopped the republican party from squeezing every bit of political juice out of it.

Yeah. I read about that today. Word on the street is that he just called the widow and said, "Hey! Widow! Your husband knew what he was getting into." At least that seems to be the current story from the resistance.

But you believe Hillary and Obama gave the order to stand down in Benghazi. Amirite?

The president is responsible for stretching our military resources too thin, for trying to save money on evacuations, for continuing to keep the public in the dark, and for the consequences of all of those decisions.

There is absolutely nothing out of line with the contractor role here. Contractor support is vital in places like Niger where the US military presence is so limited. Niger is a dangerous environment, and the contractors are every bit as much at risk as everyone else. It is deeply unfair to call them "money grubbing" in this episode.

Really? Please explain.

Well, since you raised the point...

2,499 U.S. soldiers have been killed in Afghanistan and Iraq so far under President Obama, according to the independent Iraq Coalition Casualty Count.

—Of those, 1,906 have been*killed in and around Afghanistan, and 593 in Iraq.

—Under Obama, the United States has been at war for 2,687 days. That's longer than under George W. Bush*—*or any other U.S. president, for that matter.
Some 2,500 Americans Have Died in Afghanistan and Iraq Under Obama - Rolling Stone

So according to YOUR stated viewpoint (NOT mine) Mr. Obama, as the CIC must have "let those 2,499 soldiers die."

Now some of us understand the risks of voluntary military service...because we read the job descriptions before we took the jobs.

Try researching the job descriptions of Special Operations Forces personnel and the mission parameters. It might be enlightening. :coffeepap;
