Trump Just Let Them Die

The mission in Niger is a good mission, and was considered a good mission before Trump. There are only so many drones to go around; where to deploy them is a tactical military decision. Contractors are a bona fide element of the US force mix. I worked in that part of the world for decades; resources are always on the light side.

I must defer to your expertise on the points you raise above.

My opinion is that President Trump is as responsible for these deaths as Hillary Clinton was for the deaths in Benghazi.

If you wish, but the situations were not similar. In Niger the soldiers were killed while participating in a sanctioned military operation. Contact with hostile forces was not a surprise. In Benghazi civilians were killed in their workplace by terrorists.

There is absolutely nothing out of line with the contractor role here. Contractor support is vital in places like Niger where the US military presence is so limited. Niger is a dangerous environment, and the contractors are every bit as much at risk as everyone else. It is deeply unfair to call them "money grubbing" in this episode.

Military contractors have always support the troops. It is the way things have always been done. You are right they are brave men and women who support our troops. Calling these people names when they are risking their lives to evacuate our soldiers when an operation did not turn out as planned just shows how sick some people are.

Trump's Benghazi. But, of course, you'll never hear anyone on the Right admit it.

Private contractor used to evacuate US forces in Niger ambush

Lip service, Sarah. Lip service. Fact is, Trump let those soldiers die...and, worse, his money grubbing private contractor left a guy behind.

Hey, maybe he can talk about Obama some more. That should keep the idiots distracted.

It can't be a Benghazi because the Republicans control congress and only congress can form committees, issue subpoenas, etc. We saw how Devin Nunes couldn't sabotage the investigation against Trump fast enough. The same would be true of any other "gate" type scandal.

From that, I will assume that you do not understand what CIC stands for.

Being Commander In Chief doesn't automatically give you the understanding of the "risk" and "sacrifice." That's something you learn from enlistment and selfless service. Selfless service being something Trump has actively avoided all his life.

That suggestion belittles the loss of four Americans including an ambassador that Hillary could have prevented. And while crooked Hillary was not prosecuted over it, it did lead to the discovery of her private email server scandal as well as the pay to play clinton foundation.

The bright side was it kept the above the law liar out of the White House. I guess we should be thankful to Comey as well for his part.

Yep. Political hack investigations--Republicans are masters of it.

I don't agree. What happened in Niger had nothing to do with Trump. In regards to Benghazi, Hillary turned down multiple requests over months for added security for the Ambassador and staff. The on that sad day when the **** hit the fan, no help came.

You are exactly right. Even in peacetime contractors are involved.

Agreed. Comey did everything he could to clear her from prosecution, however his press conference basically confirmed that she was damaged goods.

The same can be said for presidents Obama and Clinton. In Clinton's case he was drafted and lied to his selective service board to get out of it.

How could you possibly know that no decision President Trump made could have possibly influenced this situation?

The French were allegedly pissed off that we went out half-cocked on weak intel, and here we have four dead bodies to show for it. Reminded me of the ****up in Yemen.

Fact is, our president sets the stage for what resources are provided and how thin to stretch those resources. Leaving these soldiers in hostile territory for two days hardly sounds like an acceptable situation.

But, like McCain said; we'll need a subpoena to get an understanding of what happened here.

That statement shows a complete lack of knowledge and is nothing but pure partisanship hackery.

So it's bad when Clinton dodges the draft, but okay for Trump. Got it.

Less than a year in, Trump has had a Watergate (the cyber version of a good old fashion third rate burglary), his Katrina (Puerto Rican Style), and now a Benghazi, just a little further south on the continent of Africa. What's next. Hopefully not 911, Pearl Harbor or Hiroshima.

Any bets?

I bet none of those comparisons is valid.

Don't you ever get tired of building all those mountains out of molehills?
