ACLU vs. ACLJ

Anyone who is a Leftist is also a Communist. They're kindred spirits.

Utterly false, as history shows over and over. It's like saying anyone rightist is also a Nazi.

The ACLU defends anyone and everyone, all that matters is the constitution. The real problem is that you don't like the outcome.

Anyone who is a Leftist is also a Communist. They're kindred spirits.

That kind of 'logic' will not get you far in a debate. No different than someone saying all right-wingers are also fascists.

Not now nor ever.

Did you even click on the link?

See, according to YOUR ideology, conservatives are evil incarnate and must be destroyed.

Umm, I'm practically a pacifist so no, I do not believe conservatives "must be destroyed."

Only in your imagination. Real people are rather more complicated than Saturday morning cartoon villains.

So, what prompts ignorant hate and lies about the ACLU? I don't believe conservative ideology drives that narrative.

I suspect you're talking to a talk radio dupe.

Ah, yes. The "real" education, not like that liberal brainwashing at universities.

Mr Sekulow is such a nice Christian guy who really cares about his fellow believers  - as long as they keep sending him money.

Jay Sekulow's Christian Nonprofit Under Investigation by 2 States for Paying Family Millions

President Donald Trump's attorney and prominent Christian conservative lawyer Jay Sekulow is now being investigated by top lawyers in two states after a report surfaced this week claiming that millions of dollars were steered from his Christian nonprofit to himself, family members and related entities.

On Tuesday, The Guardian reported that tax records indicate that Sekulow, the chief counsel for the American Center for Law & Justice who joined Trump's legal team amid an investigation of possible campaign ties to Russia, used a little-known Christian nonprofit called Christian Advocates Serving Evangelism to direct about $60 million to himself, family members and organizations owned by Sekulow family members through salaries and donations since the year 2000.
(. . .)
According to a Washington Post analysis of tax records, the ACLJ finalized an arrangement in 2011 in which donations made to the ACLJ are routed to CASE, which is solely controlled by the Sekulow family. The Post stated that the ACLJ relies on CASE for almost its entire budget, which was $53 million in 2015.

According to an infographic published with The Post's analysis of tax filings, CASE raised over $229 million in donations from 2011 to 2015.
(. . .)
Neither the ACLJ nor CASE are accredited by the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability.

More evidence of Sekulow's lack of transparency
Christian Advocates Serving Evangelism has no public website and only a dozen employees, at least half of them Sekulows. Yet it commands a budget of more than $53 million, according to its most recent tax filings — an amount that rivals annual fundraising for PETA or the Anti-Defamation League.

Since 2011, the family-run charity has paid Sekulow and his family members a combined $4.2 million in salary and other compensation. That includes Sekulow’s two sons, his wife, his brother and his nephew. A New York Times wedding announcement for Jordan Sekulow in 2011 indicated that his future wife also worked at the nonprofit.

Sekulow may not be a Nazi or a fascist but he is definitely an oligarchy supporter.

Everyone EXCEPT Conservatives and Christians, get it right.

Allen v English, 2017 The ACLU fought for the right of a Christian woman to wear a head covering in the driver's license picture.
Tatton v City of Cuyahoga Falls ACLU files amicus brief in support of anti-abortion protester showing pictures of aborted babies.
ACLU supports the right of Iowa students to distribute Christian literature
the ACLU of Nebraska said that Larry Ball was exercising his First Amendment rights when distributing religious pamphlets
Appeals Court Overturns Ban on Christian Preacher in Rhode Island Prison
ACLU of Maryland Champions Religious Liberty of Christian Ministry for the Homeless in Elkton

And that's just a random few. Now, show me where the ACLJ has upheld the religious liberty of anyone but Christians.

If true, that may have been in the past. They don't anymore.

Wait! You did not check whether your stupid claim was true, you just posted the lie anyway? And while February of this year is technically the past, I don't think that is what you mean. That means you either did not check the links supplied to you, or are lying again. Wonder which it is...

but it does appear to be a criterion for membership in the Very Conservative Club

While I didn't include the dates, 2017 is there in the link for Allen v English. And all of them are in the last 20 years.

Well duh. The ACLU didn’t go full Bolshevik until March 1.

Technically everything is in the past, including this post. The present is ever fleeting. Are you saying that you somehow know that the ACLU is currently turning into an evil communist monster? Where do you get your information?

Actually, yes it does. The proper Conservative interpretation of the Constitution and proper definition of family as well.

Can you please list specifically where in the Constitution a "proper" family is defined? What you want is a government to force your views onto others. Why do you hate freedom so much?

I don't want MY America to end up like Europe, with 3/4 of my hard earned going to the government.

Can you name one European country with a 75% tax rate? In Germany as an engineer I'm at about 27%.

Nazism is certainly not left wing. It isn't really right wing either.

It is really right wing. Very dissimilar from the American right in many respects, but in relation to the extreme right wing in Europe, Dick Cheney is a dangerous liberal.
