Say "Merry Christmas" or else!

How do they feel about gay people?

They help gay people who need help without reservation just as they do any other people. THAT is what I judge them on. How they might or might not feel about gay people is irrelevant.

I am glad you support people's right to kneel during the National Anthem.

Of course I support their right to kneel, just like I have a right to boycott their sport, to criticize their actions and not give them a red dime because of them.

It does matter, it's traditionally been, for generations. Changing it because it "Might offend" someone is stupid. Tolerance is a two way street.

It doesn't matter, actually. In fact, I've never heard of anyone actually caring about it being called "Winter Break" until now.

Getting offended by it being called "Winter break" is pretty silly.

It hasn't. But many governments at all levels have chosen to make Christmas disappear and use generic decorations for the 'holiday season' if it is observed at all. Schools do not perform the great majestic Christmas anthems that many of us grew up with in the winter concert, most forego Christmas trees or any kind of recognition of the national holiday, and the ACLU and other opportunistic groups continue to file or threaten lawsuits over beloved historic creches on the courthouse lawn.

I see the President's proclamation re Christmas as hopefully a reversal of all that kind of stupidity and a reversal of the restrictions on our liberties to engage in customs and traditions all Americans enjoyed until political correctness became a bludgeon to restrict thought, speech, and liberty to be who and what we are.

I'd take those seriously but we all know the first time some government started celebrating Ramadan or singing Muslim hymns in school, the same people whining about the fake War on Christmas would be screaming bloody murder about Sharia law or some such BS.

And what about PC restricts your liberty to celebrate Christmas or be a Christian? What you're whining about is maybe the schools or governments don't actively validate the awesomeness of your religion, over all the other religions. If you want to play victim, that's fine, but most of us see it as the ridiculous nonsense that it is.

This means a lot coming from a great example of a Christian like Trump.

Trump need to keep the chaos and hate going, more red meat for his base.

"Winter break" is what gets your hackles up?

Talk about snowflakes.

Pun intended.

Yep, triggered for no reason and its hypocritical.

I don’t think anybody should be required to endorse anyone’s religion. But I also don’t think that people who don’t believe in my religion should try to shame me into not celebrating the way I see fit.

You can celebrate it exactly as you see fit. Your complaint is that when you want your workplace to celebrate your religion as you see fit, some non-Christians might not agree with YOUR preferences on how others must celebrate your religion.

Trump: 'We're saying merry Christmas again' | TheHill

Beautiful Christmas season that people don't talk about? What reality is this guy in, I've been seeing and hearing about Christmas for the past couple weeks now and it's not even Halloween yet!

I do wonder how he plans to roll out to have department stores and whatnot say Merry Christmas. I mean, he can't actually think he's going to make people say Merry Christmas, right?

Someone should give him a Koran and a Torah for Xmas.

Of course I support their right to kneel, just like I have a right to boycott their sport, to criticize their actions and not give them a red dime because of them.

Which is your right. Just don't complain about political correctness.

There's no hate, why are you for only one sided ability to express yourself? They chose to do this, I chose to disagree with their decision and you come in with half baked snark. For shame Kobie.

Actually what really gets my hackles up is schools having "Winter break" instead of Christmas Break, that's just ignorant. For MOST of the kids, that's what it is, for the rest... hey it's tradition and it's not exclusive, YOU GET THE BREAK TOO!. FFS. Tolerance is a word that's been far too abused.

LOL, that's perfect. Anti-PC folks enforcing their own PC never stops being hilarious.

Would you support their employers enforcing political correctness? ;)

I support employers establishing and enforcing whatever workplace rules they wish to have that they think are good for business. I also choose to patronize employers that I respect as good citizens, where the atmosphere is friendly, happy, comfortable and accommodating, and where I can get the products and services that I want and/or need. I would find a place of business that was not decorated for Christmas or in which the employees refused to return my "Merry Christmas" to be pretty grim and an unhappy place.

My workplace set up the tree and Christmas decorations. Not me.

Many, maybe most of us, see those who are unable to discuss a concept without ad hominem or personal insults as the ridiculous nonsense it is. Do have a pleasant day.

I doubt if anyone's imposed a penalty on you or any other brave rebels who still refer to it as Christmas break.

We don't read the Cray-on! That ain't 'murican, dammit!

they talk funny and eat mashed up beans with lemons. that don't taste like hamburgers ta me and my ma neither.

This place does not exist. Pretty much every retail store in America is chuck-full of Christmas/Holiday decorations. Santa Claus is ****ing everywhere.

So you do support "Happy Holidays"?

Good for you.

Leftists are so used to attacking Christmas, they don't even realize it's happening. But it's a little early yet. Full on assault usually happens around Thanksgiving, you know that other holiday leftists attack.

Do you think I'm "leftist"?

It does matter, it's traditionally been, for generations.
So what?

The US originally had summer vacations because the kids were needed to work as field hands on the farms. Now that a) few people work on farms, and b) kids younger than 14 aren't supposed to work anyway, the summer vacation is an obsolete fixture which probably detracts from the students' ability to learn. Proclaiming "it's tradition!" is not a viable reason to continue it.

Changing it because it "Might offend" someone is stupid. Tolerance is a two way street.
I hate to break this to you, but: Calling someone "stupid" because they disagree with you? That's not an example of tolerance.

In other words, "tolerance" does not mean "everyone must do Renae's bidding." It means "we should recognize that not everyone is a Christian."

Danielle Morantez disagrees.

Danielle Morantez has nothing to do with the people the Salvation Army help with goods and services. If she was in need of help from the Salvation Army, she would receive it like everybody else, no questions asked. And she should be required to accept the rules and disciplines of the organization she works for just like everybody else. If she doesn't like the rules or the conditions of employment, she should find someplace else to work.
