Its because their political creed is the same as always.

I may have voted for the man, but I don't like everything he is doing.

I will still recognize him as my president, and at least keep hope that something good comes from this mess.

Well.. score 1 for semi-personal attacks.

Though it doesn't help you to make sure an assumption, seeing as I can already tell that CaptainAdverse isn't really a Trump supporter. He is basically coming at this like an attorney would, and is giving you the best reason for why such a claim would not stick.

The fact that he says "They let you" still implies consent, even if the context of the conversation doesn't even prove that he does it in the first place.

Just don't jump in Superfly and let them sink with the argument their ship is made from.
