Question: How can you tell if someone is Patriotic and Respectful to The Flag?

How can you really tell who's a Patriot and who is Respectful? Respectfully I ask, because, you never know who's reading.

If OJ Simpson (The Juice is Loose) comes to next weeks Games and does what he's always done Hundreds of times during the National Anthem.

Will he be accepted as a Patriot?
Will he be accepted as Respectful?

... what will happen if someone, anyone, on the NFL Sidelines, is not Fully Paying attention to The National Anthem next Sunday? What if the cameras capture someone scratching their balls, picking their nose, flopping their hair or rocking back and forth?

What if their "thoughts" are not genuine patriotic thoughts or their hand is below their heart?

Will that be Unpatriotic or Disrespectful?

Just asking ... because this is starting to get amusing.

It’s been amusing right from the start, don’t you think? This latest incarnation is no more than a giant middle finger to Trump. Meant nothing to any of them until he brought it up. He can move mountains with his tweets.

Can you blame anyone for putting the middle finger up to the guy who called their mother a bitch or their teammate's mothers bitches?

But this started way before Trump ... and it's not about Trump, The Flag or Patriotism.

Trump is making this about The Flag and Patriotism and he doesn't watch ot go to a Game. He's usually playing Golf, where he most likely he walks pass a Dozen Flags everyday all day and never even looks at them.

But hey, you gotta love how he can play a toon and make everyone around him dance. That's why I'm going to be more like Trump. Say whatever you want to say, it doesn't matter if it true or not, who cares. Just say what people want to hear and have a good laugh later.

Holey moley. This looks to you like winning? All this time and energy spent on a pop culture nobody-who-matters, and getting a sports league muck-a-muck to agree, that's victory to you?
Throwing gas on a fire that was too small to be important, just to score cheap popularity points, I guess Trumpsters have to take what they can get. Absolutely nothing on the governing end, but a sweet victory over an unemployed football player.

Because trump has yet to realize as a so called leader of the free world his words matter. Can you imagine what the right would have said if obama tweeted half the **** like trump does? They would lose their collective minds. The good news is trump is making people like Clinton seem honest.

It was never about The Flag or Patriotism, it was Black Men not doing what they were told.

BTW, if you think this is over, you don't know Black Men.

There's a big difference between taking an action which is intentionally disrespectful and just plain not caring about the Flag and National Anthem. But I'm pretty sure that you know that already...

The intention was to bring light to Police Brutality ... not Disrespect any object

Beside, these Men are speaking for those who would not have a Voice.

MLK, Ali and many others defined so called authority
 
Irrelevant question, because showing respect to the flag alone doesn't make you a patriot.

Then why didn't they hold a public rally after the game where they could publicly address the issue and make it clear right form the start what they were saying?? Why did they make the intentional choice to engage in an act of disrespect to the Flag and the National Anthem? Why aren't they taking steps to reduce crime among young urban black men so that the police would have no grounds to ever have to arrest them?

I believe police brutality is only the excuse being used for this act of disrespect to our country. The same things that are happening today have been happening for DECADES and these players have been largely silent on the issue. But suddenly Pres. Trump is elected and now they have to get in their jabs as well. IMO, these people are just like Code Pink who protested weekly during the Bush admin. in opposition to the liberation of the Iraqi people, but as soon as Pres. Obama was elected, they went almost dead silent. This crap isn't about these causes they are claiming to support, it's about protesting the President and little else. Where were they during the Obama admin. when the same level and types of actions were occurring?? Where was their voice then??

Rev. King pursued unity. The chance of him supporting this kind of thing is pretty thin. He was always pushing for black people to rise above their situations and stop wallowing in them. To take responsibility to be the best in their society. What we are seeing today is the polar opposite of that idea. It's the mindset that YOU push that blacks aren't allowed to rise above their circumstances. It's the idea that I have the power to stop you from being the best.

You do not get to speak for the protestors. They can kneel for any reason they want. Where were you during this "liberation " of the Iraqi people?

You're right, Trump is making this about the flag and patriotism. But he's going about it in a pretty mild way.

Contrast that to Hillary Clinton co-sponsoring a bill back in 2005 that would have made it a crime to burn the American flag. She supported a fine up to $100,000 and a jail sentence up to 1 year for flag-burners.

Trumps just suggesting that NFL owners monitor their employees because the games are nationally televised and come into every house in the nation.

When Trump takes steps like Hillary did -- you might have a gripe. Until then...nope.
