Has anyone here ever Changed their Party Affiliation?

I haven't changed my party affiliations - my party changed, and I didn't.

The Party I use to belong to was afraid to fight back ... I'm not that type of individual.

Conservatives FIGHT ... I like that. Maybe they'll welcome me into the fold, because I like to Hit-Back just like Donald J Trump, and they LOVE Trump for doing so.

It's time I get with the Fighting Team and throw some punches.

If so ... what where your resons?

Just so you know, new conservative guy, this forum is an English speaking forum. Try English.

I switched from Independent to Green to get Green candidates on the ballot.

Don't see much different between the Green Party and Democrats ... except for the candidates

It's ok. You help us much more by remaining where you are.

I switched to Republican for the 2000 election to vote for McCain and against GW.
I liked McCain position at the time towards the religious right.

Yes, in the sense that I am quite libertarian and always have been. The parties have shifted their relative positions to tolerance, however.

How does the Religious Right sleep at night knowing what they now know about President Trump?

When i was younger and from what i knew of politics for the time and access there was really only democrat and republican. BUT even with those two many didnt really stick to their party anyway.

to me it seemed like i was a democrat because it seemed like they were for change and progress. Seemed everybody was but you also just supported any republican that was also a good person lol

now im independent and always will be because politics changed, not me. I have beliefs that are "stereo-typically conservative (fiscal, military, guns), i have beliefs that are "stereo typically" liberal(social issues and equal rights) and im pretty independent on non military foreign affairs. Ill never make them all match so i can line up with some imaginary sheep list nor will i ever support a candidate based on the letter after his name. Thats just plain stupid.

locally and state level i vote for people all over the map righties, lefties, independents etc because at the local level people are more about people and party lines dont matter much. the way politics are supposed to be! nationally i tend to lean left in my voting but that because more independents claim left than claim right and im again voting for issues and not parties.

Independent for life

Up here people change affiliations a lot easier than I think folks do down there - maybe it's the 3 party system (we have more, but really only 3 viable options for now). I used to be conservative when they called themselves the Progressive Conservatives. When they made the switch over to a more alt-right, Republican wannabe party, that's when I made the switch - of course, it was a little more complicated than that, there were things going on in my life that made them unpalatable, but ultimately it was that.

I used to be registered Democrat, but they stopped believing the things that drew me to them. They stopped fighting for people and started fighting for ideologies. Then they simply stopped being honest and I left the Dem. party and was pretty much unaffiliated for a while. Bill Clinton was the final nail in that coffin. When he was re-elected after abusing his position so egregiously, that was it, I saw the Dems. as being nothing more than a control structure for maintaining the power of the DNC and nothing else.

Now what are you ... because I'm seeing abuse of power is a show of Strength now.

Was registered Dem at one time, now I'm just a free agent. Don't take my votes for granted, ever.

So this isn't about party, it's about Trump.

You mentioned Religious Right ... and Trump is now The Republican Elected President

There is a correlation

Actually, no. My party affiliation was Dem at one time is what I said.

Yes I'm currently a registered Republican. I changed so I could vote in the primaries and the I will stay a registered Republican thru 2020.

If the state I currently live in is going to always vote Republican it's kind of stupid of me to be registered as something that won't have a say in anything.

That is the one thing that bugs me about not being registered, although my one vote wouldn't have made a difference in the nomination process.
