Eric Paddock, brother of Las Vegas shooter Stephen Paddock, spoke to reporters in a rambling, wide-ranging interview outside his home.

.................

Stephen Paddock’s brother tells me he was “just a guy” who loved gambling, so he retired and moved to Nevada. He even won $250,000 grand at one point. However, Paddock went on to kill at least 50 and injure another 400 on Sunday fire on an outdoor country music festival. His family is left shock, as no one saw this coming

Any thoughts or comments ?

Bombard's Body Language......

The brother has spent way too much time in front of the camera. I think I would draw the curtains and be vewy, vewy quiet.

I made it to 1:40 of the first vid clip. The "analysis" of the brother's sniffling and how he was dealing with his mucus was enough.

Nice of you to post this, but how ON EARTH did you stand watching it?? What a crock analysis. Whatever news show put this together ought to be horsewhipped. Let me watch the damned interview. Who is this woman who thinks she must interpret his sniffles?? Full on ridiculous.

Something must be pointed out about most if not all mass shootings...the target says much about the motivations of a shooter.

Whether it's resentment about being outcast amongst ones peers like the Columbine (and most other juvenile school shootings), or hatred for a group (like the Orlando night club, or the Los Angeles Jewish Community Center), the target is determined by a desire to act out on what one hates.

This was no random act of violence, picking a convenient target. The shooter planned in advance to attack the mass of persons attending a country western music festival.

He was meticulous in the planning, even to the point of making sure his current girlfriend was out of country and had funds to take care of herself.

IMO this means, as the narrator of the body language videos points out in the more recent analysis, this man was targeting the "Right-wing" of society, killing people for whom he developed some sort of resentment over what he perceived as "bad acts or bad intentions."

I am speculating here, but I believe as the investigation continues it is likely we will find that his politics were left-leaning (like the man who shot up the baseball field full of "right-wing" Congressmen) and this act had two motivations:

1. To attack the evil people who voted a monster into the White House.

2. To create an incident designed to push the Left's gun control agenda.

That's my current take on it. Time will tell. :coffeepap:

I have several friends who are rather progressive who are also country music fans.

There is some country music that I like and have even purchased.

So I think this is a broad generalization that does not necessarily hold up as true across the board.

Since we are speculating, here is a link to a possible prior attempt with a different style/type of music?

REPORT: Las Vegas Shooter May Have Originally Targeted A Different Music Festival | Daily Wire

Given my short time here, I would have expected you to be a little less emotional in casting shade on “the left” with a fraction of the information that has so far been released! Normally you post in a higher bracket......

My speculation is he just wanted to kill as many people as possible. Shooting at a huge crowd from a high elevation with a rapid fire weapon would accomplish just that. I think if that crowd had been due to a rap concert or a huge magic show the shooting would still have happened.

Yep. Plus the music caused a bunch of confusion, as people didn't know what was going on at first.

But onto his brother: I feel so bad for him. I wonder what it must feel like to wake up and realize that your very own brother is not only dead, but committed the worst mass shooting in history. Must be hell for him to deal with.

He's a bit off, but also he has rambled so much for the media that it's been easy to selectively edit all the footage to make him seem even more weird. You can tell the media are trying to draw parallels, and I'm sick of it.

The lady that does the body language stuff, good grief what a freakin moron.

Yes, I agree, this poor guy should just shut up. But, we all handle grief differently, and sometimes attention and talking helps. But from a strictly PR standpoint, I don't think this guy is doing himself any favors.

Yes, and there are all sorts of people who have eclectic tastes in music, myself included...that doesn't detract from the general social assumption that "red neck" and "country music" are usually tied together.

Since we are speculating, here is a link to a possible prior attempt with a different style/type of music?

...and here is a cite from that link you posted:

Las Vegas police and Clark County sheriffs were not able to confirm that the shooter was at Life is Beautiful, but a source close to the investigation told the Daily Wire that at least one casino in downtown Vegas has been asked to turn over surveillance footage showing Paddock playing at the casino at or near the time of the festival.

If I recall correctly, this gentleman was a habitual gambler well known among casino hotel establishments. I'll bet there are hours of video from dozens of such enterprises showing him in attendance. But he didn't shoot them up. He chose this event.

Given my short time here, I would have expected you to be a little less emotional in casting shade on “the left” with a fraction of the information that has so far been released! Normally you post in a higher bracket......

Pardon me? "casting shade on the left?"

I was citing the OP video body language "expert" comparing the two pieces of interview video with her reading the "tell" signs and her positing that this family leaned left.

My personal speculation was based on the history of mass shootings here in the USA, as I am old enough to remember how the term "Going Postal" got started.

Aside from the truly rare "insane person random shooting spree," most mass assaults whether by gun or bomb typically target things the person or persons acting out in such a way resent or hate particularly. They are seldom random targets of opportunity.

How that translates in your mind to "emotional etc." is on you.

My speculation is he just wanted to kill as many people as possible. Shooting at a huge crowd from a high elevation with a rapid fire weapon would accomplish just that. I think if that crowd had been due to a rap concert or a huge magic show the shooting would still have happened.

Maybe, as anything is possible. Still, as I've stated above, while there are examples of random targets of opportunity, it seems to me that in most cases of such mass violence the perpetrator is targeting a specific group that they resent, despise, or hate.

Hence my speculation. Time will tell. :coffeepap:

I have been thinking the same thing myself. I expect the motive to turn out to be political in nature. Im waiting for my suspicion to be confirmed but if it is i intend to ask everyone if this is enough to get people to tone their rhetoric down to civil levels.

Its an inaccurate sterotype is what it is. Kind of like thinking everyone in the south votes for the gop.

Cons and libs are in all walks of life.

Perhaps we all should stop trying to further those stereotypes then.

While that's certainly possible the "I just felt like killing a bunch of people" excuse for this type of thing is HIGHLY unusual and would most likely have been preceded by other violent acts.

while i believe the OP's speculation is a stretch, it is as good a basis for the shooter's motivation as anything i have seen to date
if i had a mad on for the people i believed most responsible for electing tRump, identifying those who were country music fans would make sense ... to the degree killing innocent people ever makes sense
the election was rural vs urban, and rural won the contest. and country is the listening demographic for rural America
if some medical factor - such as it is believed CTE impacts the behavior of those who suffer from it - is ruled out, captain adverse's hypothesis is as good as any i've read

Yet Navada did not cast its votes for trump in the 2016 election, Nevada voted for Clinton.
