Sheriff: Did Las Vegas Shooter Get Radicalized?

Rumor has it that there was Islamic material in the hotel room and the authorities are keeping it quite.

For the life of me I can't grasp how a guy who supposedly cared nothing for religion or politics and was somewhat comfortable in life, was radicalized.

A couple of days ago, I mentioned hearing a retired FBI agent on the radio state he had a "source" inside Metro who told him there were radical leftist Antifa propaganda in Paddock's room. That was quickly dubbed fake "alt-right" news by a DP leftist. Now this statement by the sheriff. Interesting, isn't it?

Now, I don't know if any of it is true, but who would target a crowd of people assumed by many to be conservative, or at least, lean right?

Mmm, no, he didn't. He said they WOULD WANT TO KNOW if he somehow became radicalized. There is currently no evidence of that, nor did he claim there was.

Also, all these supposed "rumors" about material in his home come directly from 4Chan, which is basically a troll site, and started before the police even went to his house in the first place. None of them have any validity. I know some people care more about being partisan than getting anything right, but there is no actual evidence from anywhere that he had any material from ISIS, Antifa, or any other group of any kind, as of this point in time.

The article plainly states, "Speaking to reporters Tuesday, Clark County Sheriff Joseph Lombardo floated the possibility that Las Vegas shooter Stephen Paddock could have been “radicalized.” It appears you are stating he didn't say that.

No one is saying Paddock was this, or that. We've been floating our own possibilities since this incident. Time will tell providing we are told the truth.
 
there is a lot of speculation and tin foil hat conspiracy stuff floating around. .. with no sources. I will also point out that the quote from the sherriff is taken out of context. He said that is one of the questions that is being asked and is being looked at. He didn't say there was evidence one way or another.

Too many people are taking people specualtions and rumors as facts.

That's funny, I heard rumors he was directly ordered by President Trump to hurt as many people as he could to deflect from the ongoing Russia investigation and to possibly help bump his poll numbers.

Isn't making up stuff without having to worry if it has a shred of validity fun?
 
My drunk Uncle Bill floated the idea that the shooter was radicalized as well...by aliens. With probes. And halitosis. It was terrifying. I don't listen to Uncle Bill anymore.

This is what I call fake news. I can picture the reporter sheriff exchange:

Reporter: “Is it possible that the shooter could have been radicalized?”

Sheriff: “Yes, that’s possible. We have no such evidence at this time.”

Headline: Sheriff admits shooter may have been radicalized.

Why ever not. It sounds like a good theory to me.

The trouble is that this guy is rich, white and old. Not your typical mass murderer if there is such a thing. There's really no information about what his motive might have been. Maybe he was a rocker and just couldn't stand country music.

That's because the Town Hall is a crap source that twists things to fit their agenda.

Here are his literal words:

“I want to understand the motivation that you described, okay, to prevent any future incidents, and, you know, did this person get radicalized unbeknownst to us? And we want to identify that source,” he told reporters during a press conference.

In other words, they currently have no reason to believe he has been radicalized. They are simply continuing to investigate and want to know whether that happened or not.

Townhall has been successfully depending on the gullible for revenue for quite some time now.
It gives the headlines its reader want to read.
It's a solid business model.
Unethical and all, but profitable nonetheless.
As they say, you'll never go broke underestimating people's intelligence.

See post #7 where I said, "No one is saying Paddock were this, or that."

Yes, they are continuing to investigate aren't they. I'm sure, as you stated, they are looking into whether or not he was radicalized. lol
 
The "Blaze" has an edited video clip in which it's obvious the sheriff is responding to a question about radicalisation. It doesn't stop them from running with the suggestion that HE proposed it. He's not suggesting it's the case, just that if he was, they want to know how and who, for future action.
