Mesquite, Nevada now where have we've heard that before?

As many issues as the state of Texas has, I feel that they too often are the butt of jokes. Now Mississippi? That's a state worth poking fun at.

Those jokes are typically made by jealous and or ignorant people that hail from bankrupt Blue States like Illinois and California

Perhaps. However now the Clark Co. Sheriff made a statement Paddock may have been radicalized and the investigation is now heading in that direction.

I find the "radicalized" conspiracy theory to be a little bit weak...I mean, if he were radicalized, this "operation" would have been deemed hugely successful, by terrorism standards, where is the claim of responsibility? Surely the time to make it would be while the iron is hot, so to speak...why wait so long?

Anti-government violence. It's not like that it hasn't happened in las vegas before, although that time, it was two police officers (and one person who tried to help and got in the way)

Neighbors: Vegas cop killers said they were at Bundy's ranch | MSNBC

Although, at this time, the link is highly speculative at best.

Anti-government violence that targeted a crowd that is most likely to be made up of Conservative Trump voters? Yeah...makes perfect sense.

Interesting. Birds of one feather and all that? I was near Mount Carmel Center once.
The couple mentioned in the article has been dead since 2014, and Bundy standoff was in 14 as well. To find Paddock's connection I need to read more posts for sure.

It's ironic that you picked the blackest state in the country.

And how is this shooting an example of anti-government violence? Were these people all government employees and a government rally?

This one was and people were making some absurd connections before all the facts came out.

I made no conspiracy. I only point out the geographical locations. The dude lived a stones through from the Bundy's whether it is meaningful I do not know.

As I said in the OP it could just be an coincidence.

So the next logical question should be how many others live near that place, and how many of those have killed anyone, or are planning to do so. Perhaps you should pose that question to the FBI.

Considering the desert surrounding Mesquite, I'd say it's an excellent place for someone to go who wants to do a lot of shooting out of the public eye. I'm not surprised that some extreme types are attracted to it.

Wouldn't that suggest he was a loner? He did live in a retirement community and took to gambling, both of which doesn't seem like a guy who is a recluse. I could be wrong. We don't know enough.

I don't know if he was a loner or not. I don't see any reason why he would necessarily have to be. The desert is a place where it's possible to roll out with 10 or 15 high powered rifles and shoot them without attracting any attention. I imagine it's also possible to roll back to your place, check the mail, and wander down to a neighbor's house and have a beer. I imagine the professional profilers will comment eventually. Piecing a life back together after the fact takes time.

True enough. I guess many of the serial killers were by all accounts very charming. Makes me curious and eager to see how they profile this very dark and evil soul.

That is why I said it i 'highly speculative' at best. I personally think it is either because he was going through a breakup.. or got upset at the casino for some reason. He allegedly was very verbally abusive to his gf at the casinos... which indicates a hot temper, and other red flags. There is too little information, which leads to great amount of invalid speculation, some of which might eventually be shown to be accurate, but most will be shown to be false.

I'm anxious to find out just what motivated this guy to do such a thing as well. I also wonder about this woman and where she may fit into all of this. It's pretty hard to believe she didn't know there was something not quite right about this guy.

They are guessing that he sent her away so she won't interfere with his plan. That could mean she was suspicious.

That is a possibility. She can at least give more insight into possible motives.

She's back in the US now, so perhaps more information will be available in time. It's entirely possible to be so secretive that others close don't know what you're doing, but it's a practiced art not many can do well.

Life expectancy: Mississippi ranks dead last.

American Human Development Index: Mississippi ranks dead last.

Both household and per capita income: Dead last. Note that incomes in many other nations are higher.

Gini coefficient: 40th out of 50.

Obesity: Worst in the nation.

Healthcare: Dead last.

Teacher salaries: Seventh lowest. They used to be second lowest, so hey, they've progressed on something. Yay?

Most religious states: Number one, even higher than Utah.

So. You wanna try that again?

Perhaps you should look up the word "coincidence"? FFS I made no assertion making any accusation, I just brought forward information. As far as I know he moved there because getting firearms wouldnt catch anyones attention.

Personally I prefer to wait for the facts.

Meh....I would have gone with Arkansas.
