Multi-millionaire idiots.

Never said I hate free market capitalism, you're the one making that assumption. But being paid millions of dollars for running and throwing a ball with no other real skills? Come on, you have to admit that's excessive.

So, IOW, you tacitly admitted that you absolutely hate free market capitalism.

I'd call that person "The President of the United States"

Trump's not my favorite president but at least he can speak intelligently for the most part. More than I can say for these steroid-fused jocks.

It did not go over my head it was ignored to prevent my going off on a tangent that included discussions regarding min wages and the value of people overall from CEO's and Hedge fund managers, etc, to those working at or close to min wage.

Okay.

I know many, many intelligent people with poor grammar. While it may correlate with intelligence, it makes a poor predictor.

Furthermore, it's not intelligence that makes you a multi-millionaire, it's hard work. Something Von Miller demonstates consistently.

Hard work? Don't make me laugh! These players don't work a full year like most of us do, and all they have to know is how to play a stupid game. Doesn't sound much different than high-schoolers who aren't paid a dime.

LOL! No, all objective evidence shows that he can't even remotely begin to speak intelligently. Here, let me help you out with that:

He's a retard.

That's your opinion and you're certainly entitled to it. If Trump is a retard, that makes Von Miller and all the other so-called athletes super retards. Y'know, y'know, y'know?

Trump's not my favorite president but at least he can speak intelligently for the most part. More than I can say for these steroid-fused jocks.

well Im sure we could go back and forth with examples all day but Trump has definitely talked far, far worse and less intelligible than your OP example. But anyway this isnt about him. what is your solution?

You can be offended all you want, but what would you call someone who can't even make a coherent speech without saying "y'know" in practically every sentence? You can call it what you wish but to me it's pretty damn retarded.

Uneducated.

So, IOW, you tacitly admitted that you absolutely hate free market capitalism.

The NFL and all the other leagues aren't exactly supportive of free market capitalism. Nearly every major city that has a professional sports team had their stadiums or arenas funded with tax dollars. The big leagues are worth millions if not billions of dollars, so wouldn't you think they could put up their own money to pay for their venues? No, they stick it to the taxpayers. That's not capitalism, that's socialism!

The problem is that objective evidence backs up my opinion. Trump cannot speak intelligent to save his life.

Sorry that fact upsets you so mucyh.

But how the players are compensated IS free-market capitalism. A thing that you hate. SAD!

The NFL is full of them! A good example is Broncos linebacker Von Miller who was one of the protestors refusing to stand for the national anthem.

I really don't care all that much if someone stands or sits when the anthem is being sung, that is not the issue here. The issue is someone who has little education and few skills other than playing football is granted a multi-million dollar contract.

Observe the way this overpaid so-called athlete responded when he was asked why he protested, demonstrating his high amount of intelligence and grammar skills:

He's just one of the many fine examples of wealthy retards playing in professional sports! America should be proud.

NFL players are the cream of a distillation process that takes over a decade, and involves every level of play down to Pop Warner.

Most of the ones that break through to the NFL are like warrior monks. They spend nearly every waking moment practicing and conditioning. They don't have normal social lives or really think about anything apart from what it takes to make it to the next level.

There are exceptions that manage to do all that and have impressive academic creds, but I believe they are pretty rare.

This also lends itself to the violence and other social/relationship problems that pop up (the scrutiny of celebrity doesn't help, I'm sure.) These guys are wound so tight, that when they let off steam, they often go overboard. Similar to how medical and engineering students are known to party extremely hard in college, to compensate for all the hard work of studying and lack of social life.

Again, there are exceptions, but then add about three normal men's worth of testosterone into a 18 yo body, and it's a wonder they aren't all murderers.

So it seems like a lot of money to us (and it's not nothing,) but we don't fully appreciate the years of dedication and sacrifice it takes to get that contract, and how few that begin that process reach that level.

Throw in limited shelf life, the possibility of career-ending injuries, the spectre of CTE, and a dramatically shortened life span, and it starts lining up to something close to fair.

But you never addressed the issue about how the leagues are robbing from the local taxpayers to fund their venues. That's not capitalistic by any means. Sports stadiums are certainly not something everybody uses so it doesn't benefit the public good.

I've been a productive citizen working at a private firm for decades making my own money. If I hated capitalism I'd be hardly working at all, sitting on my ass collecting benefits and stealing from taxpayers, hey just like the NFL does!

I know people with Masters and Ph.D.s that say "y'know"... you know?

What about Obama? In just about every speech he said "aaaaaand uhhhhhh".

Anyway, this isn't about Trump, Obama, or anyone in politics. It's about the overpaid pro-sports athletes who can't put together a coherent sentence if their lives depended on it. Pretty sad when we look up to these retards as heroes, and they can't even show an ounce of respect by standing for the national anthem.

Rule #1 of Capitalism: **** you, pay me!

Capitalism doesn't give a **** about the public good. You're thinking of Socialism or something.

Whatever business you're in takes plenty from the government, one way or another.

1.) What about Obama? In just about every speech he said "aaaaaand uhhhhhh". Anyway, this isn't about Trump, Obama, or anyone in politics.

1.) lmao when it comes to being articulate and sounding intelligent its not even close Obama>>>>>Trump in that regard . .Anyway
2.) whats your solution? and i thought you said this wasnt about the anthem, now it is? Who said they werent showing an ounce of respect.

I don't care if someone stands or doesn't stand for the national anthem. I don't even care if someone protests, but the bad part about this is these players are protesting while on the job.

Think about it. What would happen if you or I protested or made controversial political statements while we were working? Our butts would be in a sling and we'd likely be fired. But oh no, not our so-called heroes in the NFL!

1.) so you actually DO care then . and in regard to being on the job its only bad if the NFL says so
2.) nothing to think about, some would be fine some wouldn't it would depend on the employer
3.) no thats not guaranteed, its friday and i have a tshirt on right now that says solidarity at the bottom and has a silhouette of people kneeling, standing, locking arms etc with eachother. im not fired.
4.) its the NFL's decision and nobody elses really

now back to my question you still havent answered what is your solution to your issues? what do you want done about their pay?

I know, you don't get it. That's why he's making millions and you're making $30k.

I can only hope that one day you get to tell some of these men face to face just how ****ing "retarded" they are.

I do not begrudge anybody who has ability or talent to offer selling it to the highest bidder. It is not Von Miller's fault that he is worth as much as he is to a football enterprise and his education has nothing to do with it.

I do question WHY a football player who contributes nothing to society other than a few hours of entertainment every week is worth so much more than police officers, fire fighters, competent teachers, doctors, nurses, and others who are invaluable to society. In that sense I think we as a society have our values very skewed.

And I do question the ingratitude and gross inpropriety of disrespecting the country, the flag, the National Anthem that enables the very privileged life the overpaid athletes and owners enjoy and in so doing disrespect the millions who have put their lives and fortunes on the line for that country/flag/National Anthem for the benefit of us all and also disrespect the fans who make their wealth possible. If they have grievances against something, than express those grievances in an appropriate way and in an appropriate forum. A football game and disrespecting their country is not appropriate for that.

We as a country are definitely displaying some very skewed values and ethics in these modern times.

You should consider joining your local communist party. They're paid what the free market rate is. Same with artists and Investment Bankers.

Maybe you would respect them more if they inherited their wealth and said POWs are not heroes.

Why does your post irk me?

I don't watch football, so, I had to google this guy up. Before googling I suspected he was black. But I googled anyways just to check. Yeah, I was right.

And I'm hazarding a guess that is part of your problem with him. Eh! Spare me. People can have racial prejudices without even being fully or even partially aware of it. I would argue educated Black-American women have this same trained prejudice against Black-American males you find so frequently among white American males. Albeit, the educated black women tend to look over it if the guy is a high earner or has high social status.

"Oh what could you mean, FastPce, in this fair and noble land of America?"

I mean... I read about Lefty coming with Donnie Brasco to Milwaukee and Lefty asks, and I paraphrase, "Hey, what ocean is this?" According to undercover FBI agents present they all where looking at Lake Michigan. The FBI agents wrote about this in a way that says they found it adorable.

I have no problem with the diction of Von Miller you quoted. There are plenty of meathead Italian-Americans that have or do speak far worse than him but I bet you most Americans find it charming or a strength of the "realness" of Italian-American culture.

I love Rocky movies but let us be honest... he sold so popularly among white Americans because it tapped into the "Great White Hope" they longed to see in real life. And had a black protagonist spoken like Rocky white Americans would never have found him so endearing.

This is part of the divide within America. Few Americans question what they see but simply respond like parrots in a cage. An Italian-American guy speaks like a meathead and he's the best thing since sliced bread. A Black-American speak intelligently but not using the most proper grammar or diction and he's the biggest moron ever. A lesbian, "stud" (what whites call "butch"), that is Black-American and in her 30's dressing like a 16 year-old male hoodlum, is great for love and romance from women even if she's unemployed. But the Black-American man in his 30s that's a roofer and never went to college but dresses like an adult? HORRIBLE! He's not suitable for romance and love from women according to both liberals and conservatives.

"But hey, America, let's unite!" :2usflag::cheers:

Or how about, "No."

And as for the guy's income, so what, are you envious? That's how capitalism works. He can't be too stupid if he's making millions and probably more than you. He was smart enough not to be poor, white, hooked on heroin, and looking for Trump to ride in and save him and the coal industry.

Nothing wrong with the average man. In a sense.

(It's a problem when "average" people get their noses up at the those not in the average range that fall to the further left and further right of the average, the great sinners and the saints, the homeless and the rich, the mentally challenged and those with high IQs.)

It took the average man to stop Adolf Hitler and the German war machine. No intellectuals in their ivory towers with their perfect grammar did that. Average boys with packs on their backs trekking through mud with rifles in their hands did that. The "Rockys'" did that. Be they white or black or Latino or Amerindian. Usually you have to be Rocky to make it to the NFL.

But you need the Einsteins' too. The world turns with different people. You need the factory workers and the homicide cops.
