It's a big ocean, people.

Simple as that eh? You must be a logistics expert. Why don't you educate us all as to how easy this is. Please be detailed and specific.

And while your at it, please describe exactly how many carriers we have, where they are all located, their strategic importance, and just how simple it would be to load one with enough provisions to bring relief to an entire island, and how quickly it could "sail" to Puerto Rico. Again, please provide specific details.

Your assertion that we can support two wars in the Middle East but yet we can't get support to Puerto Rico it's absurd

From these things called aircraft carriers - which are ships which can sail into the Caribbean sea and can carry helicopters on board. Amazing things, they are. You should learn about them.
Yeah, you have no idea what you're talking about. Next.

The left has been desperate to try to pin the 'Katrina' label on Trump. They couldnt do it in Houston. Tried to do it in Florida and failed. But Puerto Rica...that my be the ticket. Never mind the fact that FEMA had staged as much recovery support as they could...in ****ing boats just outside of a hurricane strike zone and that anything they had staged on the Island would have been destroyed. Never mind the logistical nightmares. Never mind that this is the third disaster they are dealing with in just a few months AND that this particular hurricane crushed an entire national infrastructure. Never mind Puerto Rico officials have been COMPLIMENTARY of the efforts of the administration and FEMA. Leftists are such a bunch of pathetic ****ing cuts hell bent on creating SOMETHING to **** themselves over that they have fabricated this outrage and promoted the lie that the administration has failed Puerto Rico.

Leftists are ****ing despicable. They will dance in the blood of dead children to push an agenda and now are using a natrual disaster to create a political attack. Lowlife ****ing scum, the lot.

Trump is a fatberg

Yeah, you have no idea what you're talking about. Next.

What exactly in my statement are you objecting to? Do you think the US doesn't have aircraft carriers? That helicopters can't fly to Puerto Rico from an aircraft carrier moored just offshore from the island?

We already have the USS Kearsarge running operations - why on earth would we need to send an aircraft carrier to the Caribbean?

I never said you would need to. You originally claimed that the US couldn't send helicopters to Puerto Rico; I just explained how they could.

Yeah, still waiting for a response. Surely, being the logistics expert you are, you can educate us.

Another day, another idiot comment by the orange moron in the White House.

Got to love that it took Hillary Clinton and others to pressure the administration to send a hospital ship to the island, and not something that happened automatically... pathetic Trump administration leaving millions of Americans in harms way just because they are latino and wont vote for the dick in the White House.

Best laugh of the day Hillary pressuring Trump. That's right up there with the Ivanka pressured Saudi Arabia to allow women drivers.

The ocean comment made me chuckle reminded me of a Bush Speech.

At least PR doesn't have to make a donation to the Clinton foundation before it can receive help so they got that going for them

It falls along a string of landmasses between a very big ocean and a largish sea, but whatever.

I mean...what he said was a bit silly, but this guy always talks in vague generalities. Probably helps him avoid making truly laughable factual blunders as often as he would if he tried to speak with more specificity.

You wanna know what's really pathetic? Making this about race!

Guess what... everything is about race in the US because conservatives deny that there are racial issues.. just look at take the knee.. or the way Trump treats people that are not white and christian.

In an interview with PBS Newshour this evening, Rosselló thanked the Trump administration for their prompt response:

JOHN YANG: Governor, are you getting all the aid you need or getting it fast enough from the states?

GOV. RICARDO ROSSELLO: First of all, we are very grateful for the administration. They have responded quickly.

The president has been very attentive to the situation, personally calling me several times. FEMA and the FEMA director have been here in Puerto Rico twice. As a matter of fact, they were here with us today, making sure that all the resources in FEMA were working in conjunction with the central government.

We have been working together. We have been getting results. The magnitude of this catastrophe is enormous. This is going to take a lot of help, a lot of collaboration. So, my call is to congressmen and congresswomen to take action quickly and conclusively with an aid package for Puerto Rico.

Federal Government Continues Hurricane Maria Response and Relief Operations

https://www.dhs.gov/news/2017/09/25/federal-government-continues-hurricane-maria-response-and-relief-operations

Flights and sea vessels loaded with commodities are arriving or awaiting airport/port clearance for delivery:

Six commercial barges transported and delivered meals, water, generators, cots, and other commodities to Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
An air bridge is established, flying three flights per day to St. Croix, each carrying approximately 33,000 meals.
The logistics support ship SS Wright arrived carrying more than 1.1 million meals, and nearly one million liters of freshwater.
Two shipping barges with 1.2 million liters of water, 31 generators, and more than 6,000 cots arrived in St. Thomas.
Two additional shipping barges loaded with food, water, and emergency relief supplies are en route to the Caribbean Sea from Florida.
Millions of additional meals are being flown to Puerto Rico from staging areas in Kentucky and Florida.
The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) is transporting a shipment of 124,000 gallons of diesel fuel to Puerto Rico, with arrival in the coming days.

Check the link there is much more activity occurring.

what trump was actually doing is making excuses. do you suppose the US navy and US Air Force has any sort of land/water bridge capability?
Bingo. He was making excuses. It's in an ocean, that's why we haven't done anything yet. We're still trying to figure it out. Oceans are almost insurmountable obstacles, ya know. Scary, even. Never mind that we are the country that put together many complex amphibious landings in WW2. Never mind that we helped orchestrate the Berlin Airlift. Those deployments to places like Iraq and Afghanistan, if you want more recent examples, were just illusions. No, this is an ocean, and we're not sure what to do about that.

And as if that's not difficult enough... this isn't just any island in an ocean. It's in the middle of the ocean. And it's not just any ocean. It's a big ocean. (Pretty sure most oceans are big. ) And just to drive home the point, it's a very big ocean.

Kinda surprised he didn't whip "tremendous ocean" in there somewhere.

Dude, just shut up.

Generally, when people prattle on incessantly like that they're trying to cover the fact that they got nothin'. They're trying to BS their way through it.

According to police it happens all the time in investigations. Let a guilty person talk and they'll often hang them self.
