There is no government corruption in America.
There is no police corruption in America.
There is no injustice in America.
America is the greatest nation on Earth and has no flaws.

If you don't agree that America is perfect then you don't love America and should go find another country to live in.

Even Trump is unpatriotic with his "Make America Great Again." How dare he imply that America is not great! It's always been great and will always be great.

The American Federal government is great. The IRS is great. Everything about America is great.

I have flag pins on all my shirts and a tattoo of the flag on my chest. I stand for the anthem even if I'm at home alone. I pledge allegiance to the flag every morning and before I go to bed.

That's how much I love this great country of ours.

Our country was founded by men who rebelled against their country and their flag. These men took great care to allow us the freedom to overthrow our government if it begins to oppress us. They didn't trust government. They understood that government can be corrupt.

So, what's with all the patriotism nonsense? What's with the black and white either you support the police or you're against them? Why do some think police (government workers with guns) corruption doesn't exist? What's up with questioning our fellow citizen's patriotism?

Oh look, typical lib mischaracterization of an issue. How very.....typical.

Nope. I'm characterizing it just as conservatives have always done. Protest the Vietnam War? You're not a patriot. You're un-American. Believe in a socialist economic system? You're not an American. You're blacklisted by House on un-American Activities. Disagree with us? You're not an American.

Same crap since the 60's. Same knuckleheads.

Your level of ignorance is truly astonishing. I stand by my comment.

Name calling. You learn from your cult leader.

No counter argument because you know you're wrong. This country was created by men who rebelled against patriotism. That's just a fact.

Lol, thanks for proving my point. Pointing out your ignorance is not "name calling".

I would say it exists at the intersection of good judgement and common sense.

one has every right to disrespect the flag, the military, the US, I have every right to call them an asshole. your strawman fails on so many levels.

Agreed, I do so daily and will continue to until this society sorts itself out and lives up to its own rhetoric.

ROTFL, yep.

Wasn't the left who had a leader that wanted to, "fundamentally transform," the country they loved it so much? lol

I think for a lot of people their identities are so caught up in what it is to be American (or what they think it means to be American) that any criticism of their country is criticism of them personally. It's almost the Conservative version of "yo mama" jokes--just a line you cannot cross.

And not that all Conservatives are religious, but in my experience you have about as much success arguing with a Conservative about patriotism as you have arguing with a Christian about the existence of God. For both, if they were to accept the premise of their opponents, their entire world would come crumbling down.

Then we are not in disagreement.

You didn't point anything out. You only called me ignorant. So yes, that's just name calling. I won't stoop to your level.

Do you have a point or do you have more names?

The irony is yours is the straw man. These men are protesting what they believe is injustice. You're the one EQUATING their protest with disrespect. Hence this thread about criticism and patriotism.

I don't think you know what a strawman is, nevermind irony.

Imagine if they put that kind of effort into a much larger picture in the black community, like inner city violence. nah.... they are too worried about "hands up don't shoot" idiocy and anti-trump grandstanding. It's sad to see them destroy themselves over this.

This is all true.

Why. Ultimately the people are sovereign. Every sovereign has the right - the duty - to question things being done in their name and to change those they don't agree with.

~snipped the uncredited drivel that promotes a biased stereotype~

What does patriotism have to do with criticism of the police?

Who has said "either you support the police or you're against them"?

Who thinks police corruption doesn't exist?

Maybe, instead of asking these questions, you should first make your case as to why these questions have any relevance to reality?

They don't have the right to undermine our troops on the battlefield. They don't have the right to force their beliefs on me.
