Protest against being divided by politics

Nothing whatsoever. Police brutality, racism and the national anthem went out the window and ended up on the trash heap of history once Trump made his comments and the players did what they did yesterday. Now we have the moneyed elite vs. each other. The million dollar players along with most of the billionaire owners in the NFL vs. a president who happens to be another billionaire.

Let the games begin, let's see which of these moneyed elites ends up on top.

I think the NFL and the players will take a hit. Most of the lefties who agree with all this taking a knee stuff either already support it or aren't going to start watching football games because of it. On the other hand, some of those who are really turned off by it will quit watching football. In other words, they will gain the verbal support of the left with no increase in football watching from that side while they will take a hit from those who had been watching but will no more. Bottom line, the NFL and it's players who were already taking a hit in the ratings, will see more financial losses and the NFL is all about money. It's a business.

Makes sense. In a poll taken prior to Sunday's action on the NFL field of play, we already had this: 34% Are Less Likely to Follow NFL Because of Protests

34% Are Less Likely to Follow NFL Because of Protests - Rasmussen Reports™

Now the other side, those who support Kap are also calling for a boycott. Frankly, I would like to see both side boycott. I think the NFL has gotten a little too big for its britches. What the NFL needs to learn since most of its viewers watch to get away from the world of reality, politics, to lose themselves in the world of sports for a couple of hours is to keep politics out of football.

Politics doesn't belong in sports as far as I'm concerned. Trump should have kept his big mouth shut and the players shouldn't be doing what they are. As of Sunday, this has become all about trump vs. the NFL. Pro-Trumpsters vs. anti-Trumpsters. Nothing more and nothing less.

The NFL owners are a bunch of two faced hypocrites. Not one team wanted Kaepernick, despite the fact that he is better than several other quarterbacks in the league. Not one. He has been blacklisted by every single NFL team, every single one! Then the owners have the gall and the balls to come out and say they support the players.

What did you expect? With one the owners can take their stance. But with whole teams, that is as they say, an entire different ballgame.

By doing what the players did, politics has entered the NFL in a very big way.

I believe politics entered the NFL a long time ago. Starting with players being denied permission to commemorate 911 victims, and the Dallas Cowboys being told they couldn't honor the five fallen Dallas officers with a helmet decal.

It's like anything else the left sinks their claws into, it will eventually be destroyed. And the NFL has begun a death spiral if more sane people don't regain control of it. And soon. I've given up on the NFL so whatever happens to it is irrelevant as far as I'm concerned.

The NFL is far from dead.
