So how in the hell was the leader of the NY chapter of Black Lives Matter able to take the stage at the "Mother of all Rallies" gathering in Washington DC and speak for more than 2 minutes?

According to the left, conservatives, republican voters and especially Trump supporters, are a bunch of racists and bigots, so surely he must have taken the stage by force, right? How do you think the crowd reacted to him, with a sea of boos and racial epithets? Did violence ensue?

See for yourself in this video of the incident... A video that put a smile on my face and backed up everything I've always said and believed about the people who embrace political conservatism.

If anything, this is a testament to the need for dialogue to happen between political groups, even groups that believe that they are leagues apart. Well done.

BLM are something you think is a positive endorsement? Those disfunctional bullys are legitimate to you?
Geez. Ever hear that you're known by the company you keep?

If anything this is a ringing endorsement from one overbearing bully organization (the Trump machine) to another (BLM).

That is because most people are rational and able to express intelligent thought and reason.
When people usually get together they form crowds. Crowds of people are stupid most of the time.

I find it funny that he purposely ignored issues but that is simply more to the point.

Some things he said is right others not eh.

No and no... When did I indicate otherwise?

Geez. Ever hear that you're known by the company you keep?

Of course I have, but who exactly are the "you're" in your statement?

Crowds certainly can be, especially at political rallies... which is what my post was centered on. That crowd was about as respectful as one can be, considering the prevailing opposition of the BLM movement among folks on the right.

I find it funny that he purposely ignored issues but that is simply more to the point.

I commend him for his restraint as much as the crowds. He could have said the divisive things on stage that you hear at other BLM protests, but instead avoided language that might incite the crowd.

I agree, and the crowd expressed as much when they disagreed also... but unlike other political folks we know, they did not try and shout him down and prevent people from hearing what he had to say. It's called "respect for others", something that's hard to find in political discourse these days.

I'm not sure, what you are worrying about. Sure it's funny to see a fellow implicitly use black lives mattering as a racist battle cry, when it is blacks that kill blacks at a third world rate. But what is wrong with a little reality show tragicomedy?

That’s a simple logical fallacy, since you’re conflating ‘keeping company with’ and ‘allowing an enemy to speak’.

I'm not sure how this singular event is an endorsement for conservatism, or its constituents. But I'll give the crowd props for their civility. It's a helluva lot better to talk than not. The right wing rally MC who introduced the BLM guy seemed sincere. And BLM guy was decent acting, too. So, maybe down the road, the conservative rally host and BLM guy cross paths again. The might say to themselves, "I can work with this guy."

Geez, play both ends against the middle often? Got any BLM in the frozen north?

Both ends? Are BLM a partisan political issue?
They've shown up here. They cried so loudly that the Vancouver police weren't allowed to march in the Gay Pride parade wearing uniforms. Freakin' stupid. There's about 7 black people in Vancouver- we don't need some attention whores protesting what happens in American cities up here.

I'm not worried about anything at all... The reason for posting this op was 2 fold. It was to point out how the folks both organizing and attending this event (trump supporters and conservatives), treated a group of political adversaries (BLM) who were there according to their leader to quote "stand here with my fist in the air in a very militant way and exchange insults..." I have many times on this forum talked about how civil the right is, and take pride in being a conservative when I see incidents like this that substantiate the things I have said.

The other reason was to point out to the progressives and folks on the left around here, the difference between civilized discourse and uncivilized discourse, between respectful disagreement and calling your adversaries Nazis and racists, between respecting free speech and suppressing speech you disagree with, and finally, the difference between engaging in peaceful opposition and resorting to violence to make your point.

The video I posted represents what America is supposed to be, and the one I take pride in being a part of... while the following video shows everything that America used to stand against and quite frankly, has become a national embarrassment:

Most of the protesters, travel quite a distance to pitch a fit in the streets of someone else's town. Maybe Soros puts gas in the tank!
