Things that are racist according. (a comprehensive guide)

I directly quoted you. Your responses are better than they were initially. Your comment about dumb kids was really distasteful IMO.

It wasn't at all. sorry, not sorry.

and you quoted me out of context.

Every word was factually used correctly
If you disagree try to prove one wrong, it can't be done ;)

If we start form a position of your ignorance and this is how you wish to cement yourself, we would be at an impasse before we even started.

According to the reports, what happened to the child was racist. Calling him racial slurs then hanging him in a tree, it's obviously racist. Ignoring racism and pretending it doesn't exist or refusing to call it what it is, is just as bad as calling everything racist.

More importantly he is somebody's child. He could have died, and that's way more important than your feelings on how the media and average citizen should react to what happened. As far as I am concerned, everybody should be pissed off about the racial taunts as well as the hanging. What kind of person doesn't care or feel bothered by such a thing?

Again you are not listening to me. Both the mom, and the police hinted that it was an accident. then there is also the reports of racial slurs. Then there is the report they all put the noose around there neck and this kid put it around his own neck..... I am not saying what happened was not a horrible racist incident, it's saying given the highly racially charged media we are subject to, I reserve judgment until charges are filed.

"hands up don't shoot" never happened, remember? there is an agenda of racial division by the MSM, and some on the left. So "boy who cried wolf" has to be a factor. Is it cynical? maybe. I still donated to the family because they are obviously traumatized.

If it turns out exactly as they say, I will be right there with you, and it more and more sounds like it is, but You gotta wait until all the facts come in.

LMAO, I love it!
Translation: you cant back up your factually wrong and dishonest claim about my post so you deflect and end up with egg all over your face again. Simply PROVE your statement or continue to have your posts fail and look more stupid then they ready do. So here we are, please simply back up your false claims about my post with facts that make them true or dodge and run again :D

blah blah blah blah....

Right.......

I know i am this is why you still havent posted any facts that support your claim
If that fact changes please ldo so, heck all you need to do is post ONE fact that supports the lie you got caught posting . . one. Thanks!

Do you need the last word? You can have it.

I read today that Brian Williams was concerned that Trump's use of "sovereign" and "sovereignty" during his UN speech was a dog whistle.

Do you need the last word? You can have it.

Nope, just pointing out the fact your posts are just desperate deflections instead of actually backing up your false and exposed claims.
Please let me know when you can, thanks!

ok, just seemed like to me you wanted the last word.

You may wanna check with DP staff. The may not be able to handle all the data required to list everything. Might be easier to just list what isnt.

Well...black people arent...

oh...wait...

Turns out that "Black white supremacists" are. Dang.

All,

I will be using this thread to compile all of the mainstream media articles, as well as other sources of things that have or are being called racist. This will be a living list. Please help your fellow person of color and gender by adding to this list so we all may be sure to not accidentally do something as racist as drink milk while giving the OK sign.

Milk

I'd use an emoji to reflect how disgusted I am by this but I guess I'd be a racist if I did.........

"Milk": The link explains that one college student wrote something stupid in a college paper.

"The ok sign": simply notes that "pepe the frog", Donald Trump, Milo Yiannopoulos, Mike Ma, Kim Hoft, and Lucian Wintrich, like to make it when talking and theorizes that it's a signal some people on the "alt-right" use to show solidarity with one another.

"Cocktails"? It's one person's stupid blog post about feeling uneasy ordering "Tiki drinks".

"Cotton" refers to - for chrissake - an incident where a college President invited a bunch of black students to a meal at his home, and then put jars containing raw unpicked cotton on stems on the centerpiece of each table.

Should I bother to keep reading?

Did anyone else?

Let's be clear about what this thread is: It's an open invitation for people predisposed to hate "the left" to read the names of the links, not their contents, and automatically assume that tons of people on "the left" literally believe that each one of those things is racist. That's why the OP doesn't even try to describe the links, honestly or otherwise.

If anything is disgusting, it's how common this kind of lazy categorization/demonization is becoming. People need to stop acting like a whole bunch of people think stupid things just because they found one person saying something.

(Edit: and sure enough, looking through the comments, the thread is doing exactly what was intended: get a bunch of people to come in and insult "leftists" or "the left" in entirety)

He is talking out of both ends.

It wasn't at all. sorry, not sorry.

and you quoted me out of context.

Why don't you try to explain your comments better.

What did you mean by kids do dumb stuff?

What did you mean by the issue not being relevant?

Also, why do you keep bringing up liberals? You're conflating what happened to the little kid with a dislike of liberals. When something like this happens, your politics shouldn't come first. With that being said, you look politically bias, which is bais. You're not withholding judgement.

If it turns out exactly as they say, I will be right there with you, and it more and more sounds like it is, but You gotta wait until all the facts come in.

You understand that a trial isn't going to prove what happened or didn't happen, right? The intention of a trial is to serve justice and sentence a person. If you can't make a decision about what you believe, don't believe, or whether or not i is time to get upset about anything that was alleged to have happened, a trial is not going to change any of that for you either.

The media is divisive and the internet is full of conflicting accounts about everything. But I can't help but call BS on your attitude. I have lived in this country long enough to know how the legal system works, and how Americans react to crime stories. People had strong opinions on OJ, Jodi Aris, Casey Anthony, George Zimmerman, etc. before the trails. You are not going to convince me that withholding an opinion and judgement is a routine habit of yours.

It's also a massive logical fallacy to say you're waiting on the trial to determine the facts, so then you can better decide if this was a mistake, if the kid hung himself, or if it were racist. Lol. For a defendent entering trial, the legal stragety and plea is all about their rights and interests. As far as I can tell, you will never be able to have a strong opinion on the matter.

I feel like you're unaware of context.

Do you know what context is? It's that whole rest of reality that exists in spite of your attempts to completely isolate a single thing.

If you think that the links were not read by me you would be wrong. You'd also be wrong in thinking that I am disgusted at the left for this. In point of fact I don't assign "left" or "right" to most things. I do assign the PC crowd that follows this crap to this however. If that happens to be on the left who's fault is that? Not mine. If you look through my posting history that is often the type of posting that I do. Instead of saying "left" or "right" I generally say things like "pro-gun control" when talking about gun control. "anti-abortion/pro-choice" when talking about abortion. "pro-illegal" when talking about illegal immigration. etc etc etc. Why do I do this? Because I recognize that not every person on the left holds the same values across the board just as not everyone on the right holds the same values. As such I generally try and stick to the specific groups from the specific issues that is being talked about.

Well, I wasn't trying to make a personal comment about your specific posting habits. I quoted you too because it seemed rather like you were reacting with disgust, without recognition that we're really just talking about a few people writing blog posts that were silly, not some big group behavior. I suppose I could have quoted everyone else who made a similar remark and/or included the cracks about "the left" and "leftists", but too many quotes is too many quotes.

This kind of thread followed by those kind of generic remarks are a common pattern here, unfortunately, and I was simply continuing it's continuation. I have a hard time believing that this thread was not created for the exact purpose I allege. I have a hard time believing that all these cracks about leftists and expressions of outrage/disgust came from people who actually read the articles. If they did, they would know it's just a few morons being discussed, not some large group behavior.

I'd also note that if it really was just about pointing a finger at a few people who did something stupid in order to laugh at them, it'd (a) be somewhere like "on the lighter side" and, (b) would make clear that that's what it's doing. It wasn't. Like countless threads before it, it was dropped in General Politics with a hefty dose of nudge nudge know what I mean?

Further, I found it quite strange that people would actually have read the articles but then not noted things like I did. For example, the guy who wrote about Tiki drinks expressed vague concerns about cultural appropriation when he ordered them. He wasn't calling the bars "racist". He wasn't calling the drinks "racist". And the definition of words matters very much.

Then there was the one where the college president invited black students specifically to his house and put a glass jar on each table containing unpicked cotton, still on the stalk, before dinner was served. (Some students also complained that the dinner was stereotypical "black person food"). That is supposed to be a disgusting example of someone unfairly being called a racist? Really? How should I feel if someone invites me to a communal passover dinnner, but puts displays on every table referencing one of the many times in history Jews have been oppressed? "Oh, haha, it's probably just a silly misunderstanding"? HAH.

So yeah...didn't seem like anyone expressing disgust or making jabs at the left read the articles.

Anyway, since you bring up your personal posting habits, I'll respond by saying: I don't have a link now, but I do seem to recall a thread you started alleging hypocrisy in the left because of two things you said people believe, which things you deemed inconsistent. If memory serves, you explicitly declined to make clear which two specific groups you were talking about, anyone who might actually represent the group, the number of people you were saying were in both groups, etc. (Specifically, I think you said something along the lines that if you were to find examples of people actually believing both things, then I could respond by saying it's just a few people and dismiss the thread that way. Well, yeah. That was one of my criticisms of the argument. You seemed to be acting on the assumption that there was a sizeable portion of people who thought the two things, but you made no effort to demonstrate what you were basing that on.) It was quite literally the opposite of an attempt to be specific about whom you were referring to.

So, again, I wasn't trying to comment about your personal posting style in general, but since you brought it up.....

The parrot lefty poutrage is laughable.
If you disagree with Obama...you are a racist. If you didn't vote for Hillary you are a racist and a sexist. If you voted for Trump you are a racist. If you are opposed to The ACA you are a racist. If you think Colin Kaepernick is a douchebag you are a racist. If you think black lives matter is a collection of mindless ****wits spouting bigoted propaganda without knowing the first ****ing thing about the facts, you are a racist. Oh...and if you point out the actual real world facts...well of course that's racist. If you don't think Mike Brown was a poor widdle innocent man that got gunned down by the eeeeebil cops, you are a racist. If you point out that hands up don't shoot was a proven lie, you are a racist. If you are for mandatory minimum prison sentences you are a racist. If you think it's appropriate to jail drug dealers you are a racist. If you are white, you are a racist you just don't know it. If you wear your hair in corn rows or dreads...you are a racist. If you open a restaurant selling Mexican food you have committed the sin of cultural appropriation and you are a racist. If you don't agree with reparations you are a racist. If you are white and don't believe confederate statues should be taken down you are a racist (black people can believe that...unless they express their opinion openly at which time they too are racists...black white supremacist racists.

And on...and on...and on.

What in the world are you talking about? I am just helping fellow dp'ers avoid doing racist things like using the ok symbol or drinking milk. I made no mention of the "left"
