Fun for the kids, not for the adults.
You're not that old are you? !?
Fun for the kids, not for the adults.
Unlike Trump Kennedy wasn't insane.
In addition there was a great deal of top secret back channel diplomacy going on between Khrushchev and Kennedy and their respective and respected alternates. Neither leader wanted war and secretly admitting that to each other was part of the foundation on which a fragile trust was established.
Little or none of that is possible between Trump and Kim Jong Un, two lunatics who cannot be trusted.
You're not that old are you? !?
I am twenty, so at the very least I'm legally an adult.
Force is only justified in self defense, however you don't have to wait for the guy pointing the gun at you to pull the trigger.
How could you say so much Trump without actually saying Trump?I agree that SK should evacuate Seoul and we should pull our troops back from the DMZ as we broadcast to the people of NK that they can be burned alive with Kim or they can kill Kim and begin the reunification of Korea . Offer the mid-level officers provisional amnesty and positions of lordship with a minimum retirement even if they are not chosen as leaders. Once Seoul is evacuated without Kim's head in our hands we unleash the a precision attack from the air that President Trump described as "Fire & Fury". As our missiles fly we attack Pyongyang with high energy kinetic weapons dropped from space - "Rods from God" - to neutralize Kim and the top leaders. With no one to give the order to attack the DMZ troops may not even know that the attack was on until they wake up in hell.
They have seen our B1s and B52s on radar as a show of force so they wouldn't react as those planes loaded with 250 pound high precision bombs that can fly forty miles from the drop point fly near the DMZ. At the same time cruise missiles would rain down from every direction on the close in artillery positions.
Follow that with our F35s and F22s to swarm over NK killing anything in the air bigger than Kim's fat head.
Watching the battle in real time we would know where any retaliation originated so that our advanced artillery could kill the threat in minutes.
After that there would be little resistance or intervention from China or Russia as the SK tanks and troops moved north to offer the survivors aid and citizenship in the unified Korea.
Hey I hear you say that you live there but I still can't let you off the hook. You are literally quoting the same intelligence that has been wrong every single time.
I read it in the Saturday edition of The Wall Street Journal. But I made this comment yesterday. How'd I know. Because every time there's a story about a nuclear test or missile launch, the news story includes that the intelligence community did not know North Korea's missile or nuclear technology has advanced so far ahead. I know the news and therefore it was not important that it was in today's Wall Street Journal. I knew it yesterday and it came out in today's paper. It's good form to supply viable citations to back up your assertions/theories.
Spartacus FPV:
While you make a good, point the gun metaphor is problematic. The two adversaries are facing each other with high velocity anti-tank guns while both are aboard a submarine at 500 meters depth. Whoever shoots first causes both to lose. The only winning move is to not shoot. It ain't sexy and it ain't macho but it is rational.
Cheers.
