Pro-Trump media incensed over reports he struck deal with Dems on Dreamers - Sep. 14, 2017

News emerged Wednesday night that Trump was working with Democrats on a deal that would protect Dreamers -- undocumented individuals brought into the country illegally by their parents -- from deportation. Trump may have softened the blow for those supporters slightly when he denied Thursday that any deal had been struck, but he likely made it worse when he hinted he may have abandoned his famous pledge to erect a "great wall" on the southern border of the US, tweeting that "The WALL" was coming under "the form of new renovation of old and existing fences and walls" which "will continue to be built."

"AMNESTY DON," screamed a bold red headline on Breitbart, the far-right website headed by former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon.

Who cares.....let's wait and see what We the People who put Trump in Washington think.

If he works with the Centrist D and moderate R, I certainly will support that. I'm 100% behind that infrastructure spending bill. And, it would never pass with the Freedom Idiots calling the shots. Hell, those jerks wouldn't even clear the money to rebuild Houston.

Good. I'm glad they are pissed off. They can join the rest of us who didn't vote for his dumb ass.

There's no deal, this is all media and Pelosi Schummer spin.

Pelosit's letter to her House colleagues;

"Tonight, Leader Schumer and I had a productive meeting with President Trump where we agreed to a plan to work out an agreement to protect our nation’s DREAMERs from deportation."

The Harvey relief bill was signed 4 days ago. Do try and keep up.

Anything that divides the Trump supporters is a good thing.

Gutierrez from my state needs to stfu and go away with his criticism of Nancy and Chuck over not being consulted before talks with Donald, as well as apologize to the Nation for his disgraceful comments about Gen. Kelly ...

I'd probably be OK with a Trump-signed infrastructure bill as long as it didn't include massive tax breaks to big corporations.

Ryan and McConnell lost any respect they had left with The President by trying to shove the 18-month debt ceiling up his ass and stalemate the Nation over Harvey. GOPs would have voted NO on the Donald/Nancy/Chuck bill with a DEM POTUS ...

That article if from May. I do not have current numbers, but have noticed his approval rating creeping(somehow an appropriate word whenever talking about Trump) up.
I haven't checked recently, but after his hurricane outreach and recent successful passing of the Pelosi-Schumer hurricane relief and debt extension, I'd expect to see his general approval numbers to blip up. However I would not expect his base numbers to ascend, and would actually expect a dip from the debt extension.

Some one posted during the campaign that they were already building walls and repair others. Now he can claim he IS building walls as technically that would be correct. However what is he saying about Mexico paying for it?

Word is he will sabotage the NAFTA talks by insisting Mexico raise taxes to reduce competition AND use that $ to build his wall.

If true, that will be the end of free trade in North America.

Agreed

May 24th?

If they were truly shrinking, shouldn't they be obviously well shrunk by now? I'm not sure we're seeing that (yet).

I dunno, Trump's core base, those that "strongly approve" of his performance, is only about 12% of the population. So maybe what we're really seeing is just a small minority with very loud voices.

DEMs won't be running against Donald next year. They'll be running against Mitch and Paul and the GOP do-nothing Congress ...

Well the main thing near-term is he holds high approvals within the GOP, around 80+ percent. That's what keeps the GOP from moving against him, and makes him impeachment proof. That's the number and demographic I'd like to see take a hit.

I followed him from his first aldermanic victory in the 80's. I never liked him.

IL-4 has among the worst voter turnouts term after term. Pushing 150,000 less votes than the average CD. Helped cost Gov. Quinn in 2014. Similar to Hispanic CDs in TX and AZ.

Hispanic Caucus members were lukewarm to defend him today on his Kelly remarks. On the flip side, Lupinski is a major PITA pissing off liberals and progress--ives, at times seemingly on purpose ...

Ah, so it is...thanks for letting me know.

Other polls show his approval ratings took a nose dive over the summer and haven't really gone back up much. I think he may have just gotten a temporary boost in ratings from Harvey and Irma because it took the media focus off of him. When the media starts focusing on him again it'll likely go back down...especially if Brietbart keeps printing headlines like "Amnesty Don". lol
