To be perfectly honest, it would probably be better for the son to be kept AWAY from his father. If he sends explicit messages to other children who knows what he'll do to his son. This guy needs to be locked up.

Tough...plenty of men sitting in prison for doing the same thing!

He has to be hung like a horse because there is no way that people would want to see him naked

Why Abedin did not divorce this total scumbag long ago is beyond me.

The sooner she comes to her senses and divorces him the better, and
please, Huma, don't let your son go near the bastard again.

"But prosecutors asked Hurley to sentence Moore to life in prison, writing in court documents..."

Life in prison....seriously? Even twenty years seems disproportionate to the crime. Five years maybe...but twenty years?

Why is this still an "interesting story?"

I really don't understand this preoccupying fear in our society regarding sex and sexuality.

I recognize that it is a "thing," since every species strives to survive and sex is the way of the animal kingdom to perpetuate the species.

I also recognize that different cultures develop differing views on what is and is not taboo.

IMO Western society has gone Uber-Victorian, making out that the naked body exposing the "secret parts" in and of itself is inherently harmful and offensive to the human psyche.

But to me, the human body is the vehicle of our lives...we are born without clothes, and for most of human existence our species didn't always wear clothing. Even when our species started to it was either to keep warm in the winters or to protect especially "sensitive parts" from irritations. Our complex clothing rituals grew from there.

While I've never felt the need to "share," I don't know how many times I've been exposed to unsolicited naked pictures over my lifetime...I just shrug it off like any other junk mail, and trash it.

Seem like most people today treat this like actual sexual assault. "I'm offended! It's destroyed my faith in humanity!" Get real.

Okay so for about three seconds you've been exposed to something that every male or female has (including yourself, depending on your sex). I agree, anyone in a position of authority who does this should lose their job...be shamed and shunned for stupidity.

But by criminalizing this behavior, aren't we taking this stuff to extremes?

I've read stories of kids who are being charged with a crime simply because they have a naked picture of themselves on their own phones. This because it MIGHT be seen by someone who MIGHT be offended. Soooo...we criminalize the kids because this is "child porn" and we need to "protect them from themselves?" If that's the case then I've been exposed to child porn all my own childhood...every time I showered after gym class, played sports, went to locker rooms to change clothes, seeing other kids at nude beaches. Hell, ADULT porn in most of those places.

IMO sexual assault occurs when you are actually assaulted, not when you are merely offended. Non-violent expression is often as not offensive to someone.

So if this family would prefer to stay together even if dad gets off sending dick pix to random women? (Or mom her Va-jay-jay to random men?) Why care?

Meanwhile, if you get one? Laugh at it and trash it...and move on with your life. There are more important things to stress over. Just saying. :coffeepap:

Because having an attraction to underage girls obviously means that you also have an attraction to underage boys, and one that overcomes the inherent sexual disinterest in one's offspring that most people possess.

Huma will be doing some time soon. Maybe her, Wiener and Hil can share a cell.

He sent a dick pick to an underage girl.

....and?

Look, what concerns me about that scenario is...how did they connect in the first place?

Under what circumstances did they originally meet and exchange numbers? Was he aware at the time she was underage, or was she playing "fake adult" on one of those "tinder" type meet sites?

Is this a mere tip of the iceberg, and he was actively seeking involvement with under-aged juveniles? THAT would certainly call for some serious legal and psychological correction.

In any case I would do exactly what the police did; seize the family web connection systems and scour them for illegal activity of this nature.

But apparently aside from this one victim, the others were all adults.

The only charges he is facing stem from this incident, and yet per the plea bargain this is all he has admitted to...sending her this one pic.

IMO if they had more child porn issues, they would have burned him harder.

Meanwhile...perhaps you can tell me how seeing such a picture is actually damaging? Besides merely being "shocked and offended." I am really interested.

Dude, it's Anthony Weiner. You cannot unsee that ****.

Don't I know it.

I used to live in his Congressional District when I last resided in NYC. Kew Gardens next to Forest Hills. I met him several times when he was running for Mayor. Total douche.

Send some to a 15 yo and find out? get years in prison and sex offender for life

I'm not a parent but I'm pretty sure if I was I wouldn't want someone to send a dick pick to my daughter. There's a reason we protect minors. Are you saying adults should be able to text or send pornographic pics to minors?

Duh! I was not talking about the offender...I know the law.

I was talking about the "victim."

I saw my first dead person when I was 11. A car accident victim in NYC. I got to see his brains were pinkish-red with purple.

I was intrigued and also a little sickened. It didn't turn me into a brain eating zombie or psycho killer, and it didn't destroy my developing mind.

I think many people react to things the way they see other people do, or how other people expect them to.

Once when I was 14 and hanging out with some kids my age this hobo came up and exposes himself to all of us.

The girls screamed or went "eeeewwww" (not because they were scared, but cuz they were expected to) and us boys laughed and threw bottles at the guy...then we got to comfort the girls. Life went on.

No. I am merely pointing out that over-reactions encourage such behavior, when acting like it is uninteresting, or making fun of the person often discourages it.

Flashers like this douche Weiner are doing that because they are seeking a shock reaction. They don't really believe they are attractive or this will entice someone, they know they are "ugh" and they seek pleasure in getting any attention...even negative attention.

Ignore them, or laugh at them and they lose.

Meanwhile, as a parent you should be controlling your children's access to modern media. They are vulnerable and easily misled.

The question you should be asking is my original one...how could YOUR kid and this Pervert connect in the first place?

Then deal with that from your end so it is unlikely to happen again.

If you knowingly send a dick pick to a 15 yo, you go to jail. It doesn't even matter if anyone sees it or "overreacts" to it. We don't need to ignore them, we have a justice system.

If they are married he can't be compelled to testify against her.

I'm well aware of this. But that is the aftermath, and in regards to the perpetrator...but IMO parent's should be preventing that from happening at all by controlling their kids access to the media rather than depending on the government to punish after the fact.

Meanwhile, you still keep avoiding the other question...how...is...the...victim...harmed?

The honest answer is that aside from being disgusted, annoyed, or whatever...they are not. You are upset at such exposure and you want to protect them, which as a parent is perfectly sound reasoning. I would too.

But take it up a level...how is an ADULT harmed? Same same... other than offense and/or disgust....pretty much nothing.

Sorry but to me it is another form of expression, one that is silly, and offensive, but pretty much harmless. It's also easy to avoid...you don't give your number to strangers, and you block strange numbers that send such crap.

I am not offended by the human body. I can be disgusted by a particular individuals appearance, but I can always look and or move away.

As I've said. I'm not a parent. Why should we protect kids against pornographic images? Idk. Seems like a good idea. Maybe their minds can't handle it? Maybe they feel threatened?

Instead of asking about other kids...try to recall YOU were a kid.

That's what I do.

So?

*thread detour ahead*

that under-age NC girl who reported weiner may have - by her actions - determined the winner of the presidential election (at least according to hillary)

the feds went after weiner

seized and checked his computer

found huma abedin's emails on said computer

prompting Comey to publicly re-open the previously closed email investigation of hillary

which public notice days ahead of the election changed the outcome (according to hillary)

hillary should be blaming huma, and not Comey, for her loss
