Welcome to the Third World. Is this another great cultural opportunity that people living in big cities are always talking about?

Our public health is going to hell in general. We have third world diseases coming in from across the border, we have drugs cut and packaged under unknown health standards. People routinely spit on the sidewalk, it gets stepped in and transferred into offices, cars, and homes.

We have gotten way too complacent. When people start dying, politicians do what politicians do.... "blah, blah, blah... lets go out for drinks and pretend to talk about it".

We have third world diseases coming in from across the border...

Hepatitis A is a water/foodborne disease passed primarily due to people not washing their hands after using the toilet. It's not 'trafficked' across the border.

You mean letting "homeless" mental patients crap in the streets is actually not a good idea?

Not sure why you put homeless in quotes, but I'm sure you had a great reason for it.

There's not a major city in the world that doesn't have homelessness.

OK, Dr Kobie, care to explain?

What is Hepatitis A?
Hepatitis A accounts for 20–25% of the cases of clinical hepatitis in developed countries. This infection is caused by a 27 nm ribonucleic acid (RNA), cubically
symmetrical picornavirus (Figure 2).

The viral antigen (HAAG) may be found in serum, stool, and the liver during the acute phase of an infection. Initially, the IgM antibody appears, but within a few weeks
this antibody disappears. It is replaced by the development of IgG, which persists probably throughout life (anti-HAV). The IgM antibody is the marker for acute
hepatitis A infection. IgG anti-HAV is indicative of previous exposure to the hepatitis A virus and immunity to recurrent infection. This form of hepatitis does not have a
carrier state,
nor does it play a role in the development of cirrhosis or chronic active hepatitis. It is an acute, self-limiting disease.

So no, carriers don't carry Hep a. Maybe if you did a modicum of research before shooting your mouth off, you would have known that and not embarrassed yourself.

3.2 million living with HepC . This nasty virus shows no signs until the liver functions begin to decline. A very expensive drug will clear you of this but as a long-time carrier your liver will eventually fail.

Hepatitis A is an infectious disease of the liver caused by the hepatitis A virus (HAV).[6] Many cases have few or no symptoms, especially in the young.[1] The time between infection and symptoms, in those who develop them, is between two and six weeks.[2] When symptoms occur, they typically last eight weeks and may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, jaundice, fever, and abdominal pain.[1] Around 10–15% of people experience a recurrence of symptoms during the six months after the initial infection.[1] Acute liver failure may rarely occur, with this being more common in the elderly.[1]

It is usually spread by eating food or drinking water contaminated with infected feces.[1] Shellfish which have not been sufficiently cooked are a relatively common source.[7] It may also be spread through close contact with an infectious person.[1] While children often do not have symptoms when infected, they are still able to infect others.[1] After a single infection, a person is immune for the rest of his or her life.[8] Diagnosis requires blood testing, as the symptoms are similar to those of a number of other diseases.[1] It is one of five known hepatitis viruses: A, B, C, D, and E.

So infected persons can leave infected detritus in public places, and Hep A can be transferred. It also plainly says the same thing in your link.

That's not what a "carrier" means. A carrier is someone with a disease that displays no symptoms, but is contagious. Hep A doesn't spread that way, and there is zero evidence to your assertion that this is due to immigration. None.

Nobody claimed Hep A couldn't spread. Jesus.

You are making a distinction without a difference.

Have you ever been to the third world? I doubt it.

I've been to places that were 4th world.

San Diego is not the 3rd world, another really stupid thread.

Apparently, the U.S. is third-world because people get sick, because Democrats. Or something. I dunno.
