This is getting pretty damn scary!!

Where's the proof that putting many businesses out of business and putting many workers out of work and spending trillions upon trillions of dollars fighting global warming will in fact make global warming cease to exist? Why don't you ask me how we can stop hurricanes or how we can stop earthquakes or how we can stop tornadoes?

Or how about you just answering the question? Should we reduce CO2 emissions? Or, do you see no problem and thus no need for solution? You have no proof of "..putting many businesses out of business and putting many workers out of work and spending trillions upon trillions of dollars fighting global warming." It's new technology, like wind and solar, that put old technology, like coal, out of business.

Please show any proof you have that if we drastically cut back on our carbon footprint that there will no longer be global warming. And, you still haven't proven that it is actually greenhouse gases that are responsible for global warming, only that they have happened at the same time frame.

Considering the level of discourse, and understanding, it does not seem to be worth while .

However, this link specifically addresses the evidence https://climate.nasa.gov/evidence/

And, here is a blurb about 'how we know' from the Union of Concerned scientists, How Do We Know that Humans Are the Major Cause of Global Warming? | Union of Concerned Scientists

It's karma, really. Not that I relish people's suffering, but on a global scale humanity is suffering its own recoil. Simple cause and effect.

As long as we continue to **** where we breathe / eat / sleep / live, it's just going to get worse.

The extent of the severity is going to depend on the level of our continued resistance to change and at what point we decide to humble ourselves.

Confirmation bias and the backfire effect are going to undo us. All it would take is a minor adjustment to perception and critical thinking to usher in a different way of living that would be way better than the way we're living now. We have the solutions all around us. There are geniuses with inventions and strategies laying in wait for endorsement and implementation... but to do that requires exercising free will.

Oh well... let the mass experiment continue.

I've already answered that on numerous occasions. Yes, we should take whatever REASONABLE steps we can to reduce CO2 emissions, without stiffing businesses, putting people out of work, or spending ridiculous amounts of money trying to put a dent in global warming. We also need to realize that whatever we do, even if it is unreasonable and drastic, that we will still have global warming. That's why the ice age disappeared and the Earth warmed without any help from man at all, because the Earth goes through cycles and you can't stop mother nature, no matter how hard you try and no matter how much money you spend. I'm all for phasing in green energy and reducing CO2 emissions.

I've never seen any evidence yet that if we did absolutely everything that liberals wanted us to do, that global warming would cease to exist.

You mean, you haven't read the evidence or look at the models. Right now, that isn't what the scientists (notice, I did not put a political lean on it) are aiming for. They are aiming for slowing down the rate of change.

In other words, you are saying that scientists think the best they can do is that if we do absolutely everything, all it will do is slow down the rate of change. Global warming will still be happening. Exactly what I have been saying.

Do you like making straw men?? That isn't what I said. I said that that goal is to make it within certain parameters.. to limit the amount of warming that will occur. By reaching the goals, it will slow it down, and limit the extent of the global warming.. to within 4 degrees of the present .. If not, it could be much worse.

You just said it again. If we do everything possible that man can do, global warming will get to be four degrees hotter than it is now. In other words, no matter what we do, global warming will be getting worse, which is exactly what I said. What time frame are you talking about?

and 2 to 4 degress if corrective action is taken. If corrective action is not taken, it is much worse. The goal is to limit it to that amount.

And what is it if we don't take corrective action? Where's that number? Anyway, Why does it take 16 pages of a thread for you lefties to finally admit that if we did absolutely everything the left wanted to do(screwing businesses, screwing American jobs, and spending trillions upon trillions of dollars) global warming would still be happening? That's what I've been saying since the very first page and yet all I get are arguments and denials. Here's what scientists say will be the result if, by your own admission, global warming increases by the lower amount you gave in your post (this is with corrective action):
