Anyone taking an entertainers advice on weather is a moron. Being an entertainer he is given some leeway in what he says and it being entertainment.

Having listen to Rush before chances are he earlier mentioned he wasn't a professional meteorologist in the same show or has done so by now to cover himself.

The fact this is a question says a lot about why the US is so litigious it has about half of the world's lawyers (and don't bother googling it to prove me wrong, I just tossed the number off the top of my head).
Also shows why insurance has made everything from kids sports to medical coverage horrendously expensive.

Liberals have found a way to generate hurricanes to convince Republicans that climate change is real.
 
If anyone should be sued in that scenario it should be those who claimed he said something he actually didn't.

He didn't say Hurricane Irma wasn't dangerous. He said the Liberals are using Hurricane Irma as proof that there is climate change. If one can't differentiate between the two then that's on them. If they sit out the Hurricane when they could have left they're dumbasses.

People sue other over the most inane and insane things. The sad part is a lot of them win. So I suppose one could sue. One also can hold anyone, anywhere responsible for almost anything. Even though it was 100% your decision.

You're absolutely right. I answered no, that it was silly, but in the USA one can sue anyone for anything. Winning, however is another matter.

Yeah, that was a 79-year-old lady. She's since died. I looked it up out of interest. The coffee was served at 170 degrees. They continue to serve coffee at the same temperature. She had on absorbent cotton sweat pants, spilled it in her lap and had third-degree burns requiring multiple skin grafts, including a ten-day hospital stay. She was awarded $2.8 million. It was reduced to $680,000. McDs refused to settle the case before court for much less.

My mom had a skin graft on her leg at 86. It was horrendous. MONTHS of twice daily debriding at home... tremendous pain. I can easily sympathize with the suffering she went through for months and months. I saw it with my own eyes.

If I had to make a WAG on how that coffee spilled? I'd bet she wanted extra cream or sugar. When I ask for that, they try to send me packets. I tell them to do it inside.
 
Im not saying "Rush" said this because i doubt he did but if ANYBODY had a show like rush and told people somethign along the lines of "the storm was not dangerous" or "the storm is not real you dont have to prepare for it" they absolutely should be subject to consequences. :shrug:

again not saying rush did this just saying if anybody of that nature said it they do need some type of repercussion brought against them in some manner.

not saying the person could be "successfully" sued by somebody that was completely stupid enough to listen to then but there has to be a line drawn where negligence and endangerment kicks in.

I mean im sure we all agree theres a line somewhere we probably just disagree about the line.

now of course there are always other factors too, is there proof the person received OTHER info they choose to ignore, somethign more reliable? Info from police, EMT and or firefighters thats its not safe and they ignored it. Well then that changes things again. You cant make it so simply that one person says something then some idiot or con person ignores the 100 other warnings and blames the one person.

Im just saying like most things its not a black white issue and there has to be a grey area. Under the perfect circumstances i could see a successful lawsuit, under the OP? absolutely not lol

Dude I listened to that show and he said no such thing. What a bunch horse crap. Before you post on what Limbaugh says, do yourself a favor and actually listen to what was said. The bull**** going around today was also about how he said people didn't need to drink water as well. Here's a news flash for you, he said they didn't need bottled water. Why? Because people have this thing called a tap they could use to get all the water they need. You need better sources. Yours suck.

There is no such thing as "liberal" science. Real science tells us the universe has at least four dimensions, maybe more. A one dimensional left to right political philosophy is overly simplistic and leads to false conclusions, like there is a thing called "liberal" science.

No, you can't sue him because he didn't claim the storm wasn't going to be dangerous and he didn't urge anyway to stay put.
