If anyone bothers to read what she said, they would see that that isnt even remotely what she said. But you know...some folks dont need anything more than headlines to form an opinion.

Meh, cover art that's in poor taste from a magazine who's focus is generally poor taste humor. I'm sure some "snowflakes" (or more precisely, the types who love to call other people snowflakes) will get so offended by this, but meh. I rarely get offended over humor, no matter how poor of taste I personally feel it is, because I recognize humor often largely falls within the eye of the beholder.

Yes, Texan's aren't likely to storm into Charlie Hebdo and shoot it up. Thankfully, the extremist elements within US Nationalists are significantly different than the extremist elements of Islam. That's hardly insightful or shocking, nor do I think "Woo, people aren't shooting up a magazine making fun of things" is something to laud, point out, celebrate, or clap. And the pointing out of such a thing is either to applaud such a thing OR is just trying to sneakily take a pot shot at Islam while not manning up and just doing it bluntly.

It seems the only one with ytheir panties in a hunch is you. I mean..you DID create a post which you labelled "leftist morons" and then presented a link that appeals to..."leftist morons".

The thread is a discussion of merit. You call a magazine article which is grossly inaccurate 'satire', proving you have no idea what 'satire' means.

Seriously...Charlie Hebdo has the right to publish whatever they want without regard to anything resembling integrity, decency, etc. No one is going to go murder Charlie Hebdo employees because they compare dead Latino victims in Houston to members of the KKK. No one is suggesting they dont have the right to publish any lie they dream up thinking they are being pithy without regard to who they might actually be causing pain. Perhaps the greatest takeaway is that unlike Muslims that kill over a cartoon (thus pretty much making Charlie Hebdo's point re the Muhammed cartoon) they can sleep well knowing they are safe tonight. From Americans, the families of dead latinos, and even the KKK boogeman.

No, but I'm not a huge CH fan to begin with. I sure do find the reaction to it to be, though. lol Since when has America ever cared about what France, of all places, thinks, let alone one of their fringe publications?

Don't try to make my laughing at this a reflection of how I conduct myself when being serious, it only makes you look pouty, especially given that most people here know the opposite to be true.

It's cool, I know how important it is to get these shots right, and there's been plenty of times where, like 5 or 10 minutes later, I'm like "Aww, shucks, I wish I would have said it THIS way", so I'm generous about mulligans. Inaccurate, in poor taste, fosters untrue stereotyping, etc. Way too soon also; very insensitive, and so on.


But overall.... meh. It's a rag-mag cover. Ten seconds of annoyance followed by a shrug and what's for lunch....
