So first lets baseline this for argument sake: Knowing that you can't change the past; something that I'm told all the time about Slavery, let us assume the following DACA recipients meet the required criteria as outlined below. Individuals who meet the following criteria can apply for deferred action for childhood arrivals:
http://www.immigrationequality.org/.../daca-deferred-action-for-childhood-arrivals/

  • are under 31 years of age as of June 15, 2012;
  • came to the U.S. while under the age of 16;
  • have continuously resided in the U.S. from June 15, 2007 to the present. (For purposes of calculating this five year period, brief and innocent absences from the United States for humanitarian reasons will not be included);
  • entered the U.S. without inspection or fell out of lawful visa status before June 15, 2012;
  • were physically present in the United States on June 15, 2012, and at the time of making the request for consideration of deferred action with USCIS;
  • are currently in school, have graduated from high school, have obtained a GED, or have been honorably discharged from the Coast Guard or armed forces;
  • have not been convicted of a felony offense, a significant misdemeanor, or more than three misdemeanors of any kind; and
  • do not pose a threat to national security or public safety.
  • Applicants will have to provide documentary evidence of the above criteria. In addition, every applicant must complete and pass a biographic and biometric background check.

On June 15, 2012, President Obama created a new policy calling for deferred action for certain undocumented young people who came to the U.S. as children. Applications under the program which is called Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (“DACA”) began on August 15, 2012.

So in 5 Years, 800 Thousand Illegal Immigrants brought her by their parents are now here as educated, productive, non-threatening, taxpaying citizens. We know WHO they are, WHERE they are and they ALL Passed Background Checks. Isn't that the END-GOAL of ANY Immigrant coming to America? And how many of those so-called Immigrants from non-Brown countries assimilate that quicking to American Culture. Hell, there's are Russian and Polish families that live a block away from me who can still hardly speak English, and they have been in America for more than 15 to 25 years. Non of then have College Degrees or business, but they do work as construction laborers.

So seriously ... why exactly does a 20 year old, who's passed all Background-Checks, who Serving in our Military, or attending College or Working at well paid Job bother you? Isn't that what you want from Immigration? Especially from people, through NO Fault of their own are in America?

Disclaimer: This Thread isn't about me, I'm an American Citizen, so personal attacks, derailing or trolling the discussion, I'm sure will be strictly enforced by Management, because these are Rule Breakers.

I Knew this would hit the spot ... ;)

Or it was a giant strawman that no one was interested in arguing for you.

So having a End-Goal to an Immigration Problem is somehow a Strawman to you.

Please explain. Why would you not be interested in discussing and Solution to a Problem?

Why is that?

Who made that argument. Not even trump has.

DACA was an illegal EO. Trump rescinded it and told congress if they want it, send him legislation. He's even said if they don't he'll revisit it. He's said "it needs to be done right". so your entire premise is wrong.

Ok then Congress will obviously resolve this in 6 months.

Case Closed

I think the upcoming DACA bill should include automatic citizenship for people who serve honorably in the U.S. armed forces. They should be granted citizenship on the day they either re-enlist or receive an honorable discharge. I think we should grandfather the current group of dreamers. I think we should shut the program permanently for others.

Tell me, did you say the same about obama and "porkless" laws?

The President doesn't make Laws and EOs didn't start in 2009

DACA = The Letter means Deferred, for deferred action NOT a perminate Law

I agree with the bold. I think the rest could get permanent resident status, and then shut it down. no incentives for illegal aliens.

Finally an intelligent alternative, thank you.
