...for any armchair humanitarians who missed the first efforts...granted, it's not to late to go to Houston.

However, depending on where you live you might look into booking your tickets now and catch a day or two of rest in Florida before helping with...

Hurricane Irma's damage could be the largest ever in the U.S., Barclays predicts

CAT5 this time...looks like, according to some, Irma has the potential of causing even more financial damage than any previous storm in US history...nothing to see here folks just normal weather patterns...

If we have another disaster in Florida, I don't know how disaster teams will handle it. And the demographics of Florida will cause a relative scarcity of civilians who are able to help...

Say a prayer...

Trump could issue temporary work visas to Cubans, I suppose...just restrict them to the region so they can be rounded up and shipped back to Cuba when the job is done...if a few are inadvertently shipped to Mexico instead, oh well, they all look the same to whiteyrighty.

It would have to fight hurricane andrew for that glory, which I still remember dominated all news when it happened. Also the hurricane path has been shifting, there is now a chance it could hit the gulf instead of florida( would be ultra devastating if it hit texas like harvey did) and then could veer any direction.

I'm worried it'll gut Florida and head to the Gulf Coast like Katrina and Andrew did.

Mysterious Ways are coming ...

Hurricane Irma is heading straight for Trump's Caribbean mansion

President Donald Trump doesn’t just have to worry about safeguarding the nation ahead of Hurricane Irma.

Trump owns a multi-million dollar mansion on the Caribbean island of St. Martin — and Category 5 Irma is heading straight for it.

Trump owns the 11-bedroom gated mansion through a trust set up to avoid conflict of interests during his presidency. The trust has been trying to offload the beachfront property for months. In August, its listing price was slashed from $28 million to $16.9 million, according to the Washington Post. (Ethics experts have worried a buyer could seek to curry favor with Trump by overpaying.)

In his financial disclosure forms, Trump said he rents the mansion out, pegging its value between $25 million and $50 million. The five-acre estate is named le Château des Palmiers (“Castle of the Palms”) and comes equipped with a tennis court, marble floors and gold curtains, the Post reported.

The article goes on to mention that several Trump properties in Florida, including Mar-a-Lago and Trump National Doral golf course, could be damaged, too.

If you actually read the article you'll see I'm not the author

But hey, if that's what you see ... so be it.

Irma is 400 miles wide and has winds of 185 mph.

Can you say Lag-No-More?

I think people should demand the white house destroy the hurricane generator, it became evident of it's abuse during catrina when bush punished new orleans to cover up 9/11 as an inside job.

what dis GW have to do with this? not a goddamn thing....just like it has nothing to do with this one

That is earliest classified, however people had much less ocean front civilization then and tended more to farms and had major cities on trade ports. Hurricanes prior to that did occur and were recorded, however not too long before that hurricanes had no measure like they do now, they could have had 15 cat 5 hurricanes in 1792 and no one then would know how to classify them, or how o track them, but they sure knew what they were, and seasoned sailors knew then to spot the signs on the ocean.

Also to note tornadoes have occured throughout human history in most regions of the world, and still go on today, with the same issue recording and tracking of them is a recent thing in the last century or so. Outside the us europe asia etc even africa gets tornadoes, with india being the tornadoes capital of the eastern hemisphere, and the united states being the capital of tornadoes for the west.

I don't know. We generally fair ok in hurricanes. Andrew was bad. Real bad. But I think we have plenty of people with chainsaws and boats. The coastal flooding will be bad, but it won't be like Houston. Andrew didn't really have that. Of course...the only reason it won't be like Houston is because the water won't be trapped. It will wash on shore and then back out to sea.

Why not issue permanent work visas?
Once Cuba is depopulated, we can sell land grants there, get Americans to settle, then make Cuba our 51st. state.

If it were me, I'd just sign an executive order, being as Mar-a-Lago is The Winter White House the tax payers should cover the cost of repair and since I've got so much to do Internationally, rebuilding The Overseas White House shall be covered also by the tax payers.

note to self...trip to castle, public promo to establish name recognition

Have they got any cool stuff like oil or gold or something of value...we keep the mineral rights...after Irma comes through land value in Cuba should decline...because we import all the Cubans so they can escape their disaster and have a good job and a permanent work visa, make a better life...I'm with you so far...we buy low on the land...the country lets them in as 51st. state...we can then hire the Cubans to work in construction to build homes on the beach front property we sell to the rich honkey's...I'm down with that...when construction plays out they can get jobs as gardeners and such...we can sit around and smoke cigars and reflect on how lucky their kind are that we improved their situation.

and all the classic cars, don't forget we keep the keys to those.

Yeah...I forgot to mention the need for more chauffeurs, car washers and such...we can hire the locals to pump gas and go back to the good old days of "Service" stations...check the oil and water, wash windshields...heck yeah, keys to classic cars and limo's

I haven't heard the latest but bits and pieces indicate a possible higher death toll from Irma than Harvey...granted most so far are just from places Americans like to vacation to.

Disaster teams will come just as in Houston after/during the storm...I've read stories in local rags of stories...truck loads from AZ...it comes from everywhere with different logistic problems...but it will come...the problem at the moment is more limited in direction people can go and the number of people who should stay where they are to allow room for those who do need to evacuate...people who are not going to travel shouldn't be in line filling their gas tanks...causing big lines and less chance for those in transit to get to their destination...just sayin'
