D.a.c.a.

President Trump is doing exactly what he should be doing not this issue. He's ending the executive order, while still giving the congress time to address this. The congress has not decided this issue. If they had, they would have passed a bill to send to his desk.

WTF? Similar bills and amendments have been introduced and have not passed - that is clearly an indication that congress has "decided the issue". Congress has passed federal immigration law that lacks anything remotely akin to DACA so it had, indeed, decided this issue.

No, the Congress failing to pass a bill or amendment on this is not a clear indication that the issue has been decided. Passing a bill or amendment is a clear indication. The fact is that current immigration law says these Dreamers go back. The Congress will have six months to get something to his desk.

Hmm... Since congress has not decided to adopt the Trump proposed federal income tax bracket rates then Trump can just order IRS to use them and then give congress six months (or so) to rule otherwise. ;)

The fact is that current tax law says that some other tax bracket rates apply (but that makes no difference). ;)

Tap dance all you want, spin it however you want. Either the Congress passes a bill in the next six months or these illegals will no longer legally be allowed to work and stay in the USA. If Congress has already decided then it shouldn't take any time at all to pass a bill.

Like I've said ... several times already .... TODAY.

In a little more than 2 years, Obama EO got 800k Illegals to register.

So tell me, what exactly did the Republicans do?

Oh yay, they registered for a program that rewards them for breaking the law. Whoop dee doo. Best thing to do with that list is to use it to deport all of those that registered.

As for what the Republicans have done...about the same as what Democrats have done. Jack diddly. Oh I'm sorry, were you expecting a different answer from me? I'm not a Republican. I do not support everything that Republicans do and am against the two party system that we have in this country. So sorry, you're not going to trap me with that kind of tactic. Try again.

Will this restore regular order to our congress? Will it bring the Republicans and Democrats together, at least enough of them to pass a bill to present to the president? Will that bill include enough that the president signs it into law or will they need to try and override his veto? Big questions.

Nope wasn't expecting anything different ... not even from you. This explains a lot.

Here is some light reading for you;
DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) - Immigration Equality

I already know what DACA is about. Your point?

I note that you deny what I said in that post and yet you didn't with the previous post I made to you. Perhaps I hit a bit too close to home on it so you ignored it?..........

Wait ... are referring to breaking the Law?

If so, would a Pardon be better or would that be categorized as a reward for breaking the Law?

Take your time and think about it.

1: Not sure what the heck this has to do with what you stated in your post or what I responded to.

2: A pardon is not a reward for breaking the law. It is forgiveness that is rarely used by any President or governor of any state.

This is just mind boggling. They are illegals and they're claiming rights. This world is upside down!

And with the great educations they've gotten at the tax payers expense they can go back to their countries and be very successful. I think we've done enough for them.

'Sunday evening, Politico reported that POTUS Trump is to end DACA following a six month delay.
This move could not be more genius.'

'The political gamesmanship the President put on display relative to DACA is an example of a “masterstroke”. First off, it must be noted that DACA will be ending after a six month delay. Why the six month delay? Good question, this might be why: Republicans running for primaries during 2018 will HAVE to discuss DACA as it will be a major talking point in both the media and in debates.'

"Republicans trying to win their primaries KNOW that the #MAGA base is strong and dedicated to “making America great again,” so these conservatives will have to prove their loyalty to the vision President Trump presented in 2016.

The House and the Senate both will not have enough votes to execute any sort of motion to keep DACA around and ultimately it would end in a veto, which, again, they would not have enough votes to override.

DACA will be ending in April and by then, most primaries will take place just a month after, meaning everyone is going to be talking about this, and any #NeverTrump conservatives attempting to run will be stuck between Trump and a hard place, so it will be a tough haul for someone like Senator Jeff Flake to pull a win off and meanwhile, the Democratic plan to run on issues related to economic policy have been utterly disrupted.'

Can you imagine the housecleaning we will accomplish by the time 8 years is up? Progressive tears will be
cheap enough to drink every day instead of special occasions.'

GOPs stopped acting on immigration reform when House Majority Leader Eric Cantor was primaried out of the House ...

Let's deport all DACA Veterans ASAP, except for the ones who've already given their lives for this Nation ...

The GOP is the party of going backwards to the days of knuckle dragging, they don't have polices or do any legislating. Their only mission in life is to cut tax for the rich. The last idea they had since Trickle Down was the ACA ... and Obama beat them to it. They have the Presidency, the House and the Senate and they can't even agree wit each other.

They're like a table full of Women trying to decide who pays the bill.

Deport Eric & Don Jr. and their immigrant stepmother[/I]

I missed something apparently. Eric and Don Jr. were not born on American Soil and thus are american citizens? Or are you continuing to ignorantly beat this non-nonsensical strawman by conflating those that fall under DACA with those that don't?

 The reference was towards The Sins of The Father.

Sorry it went over your head.

Did you see anything in my post accusing them of being Illegal?

You made the thread about DACA, and made a reference to "These kids" being talked about in this thread followed by your comment about the Trumps. Unless you're admitting to basically bringing up an ENTIRELY off-topic comment that had nothing to do with actually attempting to discuss the topic of this thread, you were clearly equating the Trump's to those that fall under DACA which would mean an accusation of them being here illegal.

So you tell us. Were you making an ignorant, illogical, and incorrect argument equating the Trumps to those covered by DACA? Or were you just posting non-nonsensical off topic comments that had nothing to do with actually engaging in the discussion of the thread?

None of the "sins of the father" resulted in the individuals in question to be here illegally, so the only reason it may've "went over my head" was because your aim was so atrocious that you shot it 5 miles above and to the side of the actual point.

"My target"? how do you mean?

You're no target, yo'ure just someone making a stupid statement and I was pointing that out because this is a debate forum and that's what happens. What's funny is you've yet to put forward an actual coherent and reasonable defense of the idiotic comparison you threw out there earlier. It's funny that you even bothered to link someone to a page about DACA since you've clearly haven't bothered to even take 5 seconds to read up on it yourself since you've routinely been comparing it to individuals who are here legally in multiple threads.

Moving on ... don't want to Hog the discussion

Re: D.A.C.A.

There has to be some give and take. If you want to keep the Dreamers, are you willing to fund a wall? If you want to keep the PPACA, are you willing to cut Planned Parenthood funding? It's all swap.

I was having this same conversation with my wife. I am moderate to the right. She is moderate to the left. She is for DACA. I would be for DACA as well, just as soon as illegal immigration is stopped. Otherwise, there is no end to DACA. More get added to the rolls every year for all eternity. We stop the illegal immigration (in part by building a wall) and then we can even scrap DACA and replace it with amnesty. Trouble is, Democrats don't want to stop illegal immigration and want DACA as a continued way of life forever. A compromise is needed and that compromise is Democrats being serious about enforcing laws against illegal immigration. They have absolutely zero intention of doing that.
