SPLC Says Army Bases Are Confederate Monuments That Need To Come Down

Hmm.....or, alternatively, rename the forts/bases after somebody who didn't spend their career killing American troops. I don't see a Fort Peiper or Camp Giap anywhere.....so why should we be making an exception for the Confederacy?

Peiper and Giap aren't Americans.

No exception was made. Read the regulation I posted.

That just makes it worse. Americans murdering American soldiers and sailors should not be celebrated.

No one was murdered.

Yep, thousands of Americans were murdered by an uprising of traitors desperate to cling to their ownership of other human beings.

Here, I found the regulation for you. Enjoy...

(1) Honor deceased heroes and other deceased distinguished men and women of all races in our society.

These two examples you presented were traitors, who lead soldiers to kill Americans. Why should they be honored?

(2) Present them as inspirations to their fellow Soldiers, employees, and other citizens.

These two examples you presented were traitors, who lead soldiers to kill Americans. How are they an inspiration to their fellow American soldiers?

h. Renaming actions are strongly discouraged, and seldom appropriate. Expect strong resistance from local residents, heirs, historical societies, and others from an attempt to rename.

I would suggest that there is a strong resistance...wouldn't you?

So, thanks for posting the regs, it was an interesting read...just wondering how your point is made by it...seems it makes mine for me instead.

That, and:

Again: they orchestrated the deaths of thousands of American soldiers. Why should they have an American base named after them? Tip: It's gotta trump the fact that they orchestrated the deaths of thousands of American soldiers.

Maybe you'll actually give an answer this time?

It was an act of war. This rhetoric of your's is insulting to a large portion of the country. You're not going to win support like that. Are you familiar with that old saying about flies, sugar and vinegar?

Do you also think that Yale University should change it's name since Elihu Yale was a slave trader?

Show us. All I see are a bunch of PC hand-wringers doing what they do.

The only solution is to take down all statues, monuments and make this country a statuestless and monument free zone as to not to offend anyone. Then we rename all Forts, bases, etc. Fort A, Fort B, etc. We change all streets and road to just letters or numbers, no names allowed least someone be offended.

We then change all sport nicknames also to letters or numbers, so instead of the Boston Red Soxs, someone might not like Redsoxs and prefers blue or black. OOPS, can't have black as that may offend along with white, brown or yellow. Is purple okay? We will have the Boston A's. No wait, Oakland has the A's, make that the Boston B's. Can't have Yankees in New York, that might offend someone living in the south. We'll make it the New York C's and change the Mets to New York D's and so on.

If anyone is offended by letters and numbers only, we're in a world of hurt.

Show us. All I see are a bunch of PC hand-wringers doing what they do.

And getting results, whatever their numbers, otherwise we wouldn't be having this conversation.

But please, can you clarify the questions I asked, rather than deflecting like you always do when you start losing control of the discussion? Or would you like me to let you back out gracefully...what's more comfortable for you? I'm feeling agreeable today, so just tell me which you prefer. ;)

One more time:

Again: they orchestrated the deaths of thousands of American soldiers. Why should they have an American base named after them? Tip: It's gotta trump the fact that they orchestrated the deaths of thousands of American soldiers.

The American Krystalnacht continues.

the left and hate groups such as the SPLC have McCarthy's number./

Why don't you find out what the demand really is before throwing out a strawman. Trying to close bases ain't the same as trying to rename.

Ahh the guy from the 86% white country is back to lecture on racial diversity I see.

Where do you see that? Racial diversity isn't being discussed here by me. Got any other tricks, pony, or that the extent of it? ;)

You posted something stupid, I was trying to get to your level. sorry I failed.

It's ok, big fella, I'm just playing with you, don't get all twisted. You did such a good job before of failing to put me in some preconceived box, no need to apologize this time. (I'm still chuckling about the man bun allegation) I'm still holding out for reconciliation and subsequent BFF status...I won't give up on us, I foresee an epic bromance in our future. ;) hahaha

But back to the topic...overly dramatic rhetoric and false equivalencies about Nazi Germany set aside for the moment. Since the previous guy seems to have run away with tail tucked between legs, you wanna take a stab at my question?

This was in reference to two specific bases, by the way, you may need to scroll up a bit to find the reference.

*shrug*

let me know what it will take to satisfy you SJW's.

I don't really care if I "insult" people who celebrate the murder of American soldiers. I don't really care if I "win support". If y'all haven't figured out that killing American soldiers in defense of slavery was a bad thing by now, you never will. In the end, it took paratroopers to get you southerners to accept African American kids going to school with white kids.

Gee buddy, do graduates of Yale University make a habit of claiming that "slavery was no big deal because slaves were "treated well""?

No. No, it's not. So your hysteria is unfounded.

Hope, and keep working to that end.

"They" are counting on the complacency that allowed them to gain such footholds to continue.

No question they were stunned on November 8, which explains the full scale culture war they have launched.

And yet, they have the gall to accuse others of 'tearing the country apart' when they themselves start it.

Just wish they'd stop it and their ridiculous excessive PC SJW bull****. There are far more important issues at hand, and I'm surprised they don't realize it.

Are you still womdering why Democrats are losing?

Your hatred is duely noted.

SPLC: Army Bases Are Confederate Monuments | The Daily Caller

Forgetaboutit! In other news, SPLC is moving assets offshore. Wow, how un-American.

er uh American, what I consider un-American is posting something even a 5 year old could tell is a lie. so prove you're not un-American and smarter than a 5 year old and back up the title and first sentence of your link and show where the SPLC says "army bases are monuments that need to come down". and not to make it any harder for you but the "list" link in your lying editorial is a link to an article about Dylann Roof. That article contains the list of (now read this slowly) "Confederate place names and other symbols in public spaces".

Following the Charleston massacre, the Southern Poverty Law Center launched an effort to catalog and map Confederate place names and other symbols in public spaces, both in the South and across the nation. This study, while far from comprehensive, identified a total of 1,503.*

These include:
•718 monuments and statues, nearly 300 of which are in Georgia, Virginia or North Carolina;
•109 public schools named for Robert E. Lee, Jefferson Davis or other Confederate icons;
•80 counties and cities named for Confederates;
•9 official Confederate holidays in six states; and
•10 U.S. military bases named for Confederates.

Critics may say removing a flag or monument, renaming a military base or school, or ending a state holiday is tantamount to "erasing history." In fact, across the country, Confederate flag supporters have held more than 350 rallies since the Charleston attack.

so the SPLC is clearly not calling army bases monuments and seems to be saying bases should be "renamed" not "torn down" so I'm eager to see your "explanation". thanks in advance. Oh and this opportunity to explain is open to all the obedient conservatives posting in the thread.
