Female is not diversity any more than male is diversity. I wonder if all these righteous posters on behalf of the image would feel the same if the child in the picture was black. My guess is they wouldn't.

The ACLU wasn't trying to make a political statement with their original Tweet. They were just showing a cute kid wearing a shirt they happen to sell on their website.
The outpouring of hate on Twitter came from thousands of people, I only posted a small sampling of the comments.

After the ACLU apologized and uploading non-white babies wearing their free speech shirt, those pictures got thousands of Likes, and the controversy seemed to die down.

I think it's pathetic to politicize innocent children, and cowardly to make excuses for those that hate a toddler based on her skin & hair color.

I'm more interested in sticking up for the little white kid, to be honest. If whites were bashing a black baby for the color of her skin, I'd be pissed about that too. But of course that isn't happening, as it's only acceptable to shame people based on skin color, if they are white.
