Trump and Sheriff Joe. Once again, this isn't "rocket science".

First off, let us quickly dispel the latest Trump bull**** about announcing the pardoning decision last Friday when viewing would be high because of the impending hurricane. Friday evening is "take out the trash day" for the WH Press Office. This is when they release items that they hope will not garner much attention. In actuality, Trump had hoped that Hurricane Harvey would essentially squelch the coverage of the pardon. Once again, Trump's political incompetence was on full display. It is also worthy to note that was strongly advised not to make the announcement at the recent Phoenix "pep rally" for fear of a massive uprising outside. This could have occurred because Trump was simply lying when he commented about how few protesters were outside. Independent estimates placed the size of the protest crowd to be equal - if not larger - than the one held inside the arena.

The above being stated, let us see why the pardon occurred:

* Sheriff Joe was an early supporter of Trump.
* Both Sheriff Joe and Trump have widely know "racist" views on immigration.
* Trump is losing support from the "nose holding" Trump voters and has to continuously throw "red meat" to his base.
* Trump is sending up a "test balloon" relative to pardons in anticipation of the findings of the Mueller investigation.
* Trump is trying to send a message that he will "have the backs" of those who support him-regardless of wrong-doing.

As we can plainly see, Trump's actions are hardly "rocket science" in complexity. It is simply how an incompetent politician/dishonest business man would conduct his affairs. Such actions will work just fine with his double digit IQ base, but will not sustain him in the long run.

If you say so but Trump actually said it himself...I know, it sounds to stoooopid to be true but he did...saw it live...he mentioned a big news day because of the hurricane specifically when asked about why pardon him now.

I contend there are 4 types of Trump voters:

1. Stoooopid

2. Ignorant...these people either remain ignorant therefore they may slip into stooopidity or learn and apologize to the world

3. Evil...those that understand The Donald and believe in him

4. Lock her up

#1. Of course he was a supporter, and why is this relevant aside from him supporting the man for his run as president?

#2. Widely known racist views.. Okay I'll bite, what are these views? You know, aside from all the spent ammo that the media & liberal kids tried to spin with little to no effect.

I am sensing a form of deja vu with this list here.

#3. Throwing red meat? He hasn't had to do that for as long as I can remember. The only time I get incensed to his cause, or anything he does. Is when the media rambles itself into a corner, and then continually tries to deflect with the same fall back plan as before. Though he is the president, and he has every right to have a press conference at any time of the day.

#4. Your speculation in this is refreshing, though I doubt it really matters for much. The president has never really needed a test balloon for his pardons. Going all the way back even before Trump was born. If the president wants to pardon someone, he can do so, and damn anyone who has anything negative to say about it. Such a thing just goes with the territory.

#5. Well that is a given, any politician has the backs of those that support them. Though even in Joe's case the wrong doing is evident, as he was held in contempt of court as well. Though by all means the man was just doing his job, and it was shared by the judges that he would most likely not see a day of jail time. So Trump was pardoning an "almost" free man.
I fail to see how this is going to prove something other than the fact that Trump, who is the current president. Is using the powers of that office to basically the same extent that those before him have used.

It currently looks like your grasping at straws, just like the last three threads I saw covering this same topic.

Certainly, we're a nation that can pay attention to more than one topic at a time?

So many conspiracy theories surround everything Trump does, most of them far from logical.

Presidents always hand down controversial pardons, this one was simply a show of support for what Arpaio was trying to do to stop illegal immigration. It's not like Arpaio would ever have faced jail time. He was charged with only a misdemeanor so no one really needs to get upset about it.

In short -- it's simply not a big deal.
