I'm new here and while signing up for the site they ask your political lean with 16 labels.
I could not find one that truly fit me.
So if I
Wanted to vote for McCain until he chose his VP
Wanted to vote for Romney but couldn't because I lived thru the big dig
Really, really wanted to vote for Kasich
Did not want Obama to be president because I did not believe he or the country was ready for him and I think I was proven right.
Predicted Trump would be President January 2016 my whole family jumped all over me. But I knew

I want Jobs with living wages.

I would like to see a minimum wage increase but not to a flat rate but by a formula for individual states.

Believe government should be smaller but I want some type of unversal Healthcare with other things given back to states like HUD & Education

Immigration needs reform (but I am torn over this since I would be considered an anchor baby)

I think a wall is not the smartest thing but then again I don't have any experience with the "mexican" problem. I have no experience with that type of immigration.

The immigrants I am familiar with think the government is an evil conspiracy and if you take a dime you did not earn or a handout from them you are considered scum of the earth.

All cartels, gangs and mafia are bad but I only see the focus on Mexican right now ( I grew up with Albanian gangs terrorizing my llittle neighborhood). Is there a wall that can keep them out? Even in Junior high they were crazy

Criminal justice needs reform (there should be no money involved)

DOJ should be completely independent kinda ridiculous that every 4-8 years the entire focus is changed.

Bi-partisan committees should appoint judges so they will not be partisan

I thnk Marijuana should be legal in all 50. (its safer than alcohol)

I think the opiod epidemic should be treated like the the crack, heroin epidemic...having never used drugs I don't understand why it's a health crisis and not a criminal crisis "war on drugs"

I could careless about statues since I'm first generation the statues don't bother me one way or the other.

I don't like that my son in law can no longer run his 3-5 miles a day after work because people now think it's okay to spit on him and call him names or show him a gun. Thats really sad...more concerned with this than statues.

I can be a real a-hole when I go into a store or do business with an entity and have another language automatically spoken to me (really pisses me off) especially since I
have been overloked for jobs because I don't speak a second language.

Oh Yeah Nazis are bad, White supremacists are bad, White nationalists are bad. Nationalists some are bad some good, Antifa agitators are bad, protectors are good ( they protected me) BLM (parts are bad) but there are many that are good.

So what's my lean?

You're a moderate or "other." What's most promising to me is that you understand that hot button issues are less important than so many other more important things.

I'm not sure about your views of immigrants, especially since being bilingual is a very rare requirement for jobs. And being spat on while running seems like something that wouldn't happen on a regular basis. But I don't live your life. I agree with a lot of other things you say though.

Mr Person I think I fixed the font issue.
Mustachio what do you consider "more important things" because I will tell you it's been hard to do what my grandmother told me "pick sense out of nonsense" lately. You literally have to read, listen to or watch 4 differing views to find the real one.
Bilingual is/was important living in a city and working in healthcare or banking.

So what's my lean?

You are kind of all over the place.

For example you support socialized healthcare but, you appear to lean right in presidential politics anyway.

Who do you support down ballot?

I'll point out that supporting socialized healthcare is not a radical left wing idea. It's a common sense one that many, many countries have figured out before us. but, John McCain and Mitt Romney would never, ever support socialized healthcare.

Hmm it said middle ground was available didn't know there was another.
Down ballot?
I usually go to the websites of the candidates and pick the one with the policies I agree with the most. I could care less what letter is behind there name.

Mitt Romney would never, ever support socialized healthcare.
He kinda did in MA.

I think I lean towards divided government. If Congress is controlled by 1 party I want the other party in the white house.

Don't bother. Lean is overrated, and is often used as a weapon by people who can't argue their own position.

If I had my druthers, the powers that be at DP would eliminate it altogether. It serves no purpose except to attatch labels to people and then give our more challenged posters ammunition to argue the lean, not the argument.

* DISCLAIMER -- yes, I realize I have a lean. It's changed a few times, depending on how I see myself at any given time. I've changed it for me, not for anyone else.

Your lean is confused

Middle_Ground:

The Big Dig bugged you? You're from Bean-town! Your lean should be pro Montreal Canadians and moderately anti Bruins. :) I hope that helps. Oh and welcome aboard.

Cheers.

The other member is middleground, no space (I think).

I suggest you lean forward, that way if you fall you can put your hands out and soften the impact. Leaning backwards can lead to cracking your skull.
Of course you could always lean against a wall or light post

I would say you are Middle_Ground. I hope that means you can have honest debates as opposed to those on here who are so wrapped up in their ideologies that all they do is find cherry picked facts to prove their side and are closed minded to anything from the other side. I can't tell you how many times I accepted single arguments from those on the left and then instead of them being open minded to anything at all from the other side, they treated me like I was ripe for total conversion to the left.

Evilroddy..the big dig pissed me off the waste was ridiculous. Then that woman that died and things had to be redone.
No longer live in beantown.
Football girl over here.

Moderate right. I'll try
I come from a family that was absolutely in love with Nixon...then somewhere around Carter they completely switched and became left leaning dems which I will never understand since there views on policy are more right than left.
I think most of us if we actually talked to each other instead of at each other we probably all want much of the same things.
I can only live and make my decisions based on my reality and everyone's reality is different.
I joined this forum because this election season I got more involved and I realize there is a lot I don't know and I want to learn.
My millenials are asking me lots of questions that I can't answer. By the way mine are not basement dwellers they are educated and thoughtful and I wish more gen x'ers & boomers would take the time to actually talk to them and remind them of some past mistakes.
