On Thursday, CNN's John Blake published a story blaming "ordinary people" for making Charlottesville possible, and quoting a history professor who called such people "white supremacists by default."

"We are a country with a few million passionate white supremacists — and tens of millions of white supremacists by default," Mark Naison, a political activist and history professor at Fordham University in New York City, told CNN. "You have to have millions of people who are willing to be bystanders, who push aside evidence of racism, Islamophobia, or sexism. You can't have one without the other."

He might have gone on to say that ordinary black people are violent black militants by default. Or ordinary Muslims are terrorists by default. It's no use expecting logic or consistency from such ilk, though.

CNN is a solid gold gift to Trump and his supporters.

Do keep it up, CNN. We don't want people to forget how much you and your elitist pals hate and deplore normal Americans.

Some people simply don't understand what "Freedom of Speech (Expression)" means.

They assume that because we are tolerant enough to allow public (non-violent) expression we don't agree with that we are somehow showing actual support for such expression.

Freedom of speech does not mean "only if we agree and can support it."

It is literally the freedom to express oneself non-violently on any topic, and the freedom of others to listen, respond to, or ignore it.

Which is a number he pulled entirely out of his ass.

For real. Another example is what they did to Hillary. During her miserable campaign, CNN interviewed different guests while at the same time they showed video of the consolate in Benghazi burning down. The entire tv screen was on fire as though the world was burning up! CNN helped assassinate the next pres. CNN is hardly liberal.

Yep, being a bystander (as opposed to a political activist or protestor) is the newest solid evidence of (the crime of?) "white privilege" which, of course, is now elevated to "white supremacists" by CNN. Of course, those that "allow" violent criminal acts by street gangs or illegal aliens by not marching in the streets to protest them are not called "crime supporters" by CNN - go figure. I wonder if Hillary or Bernie will ever get blasted by CNN for all of their white support - nah, those "correctly voting" white folks are the non-deplorable kind for sure. ;)

They think they are driving towards impeachment but actually they make it harder because all they accomplish is further discrediting the Elite Class.

Edit: Well that and proving that Trump was right.....

How does a guest saying something turn into the network's official position? Why do you feel the need to tell such egregious lies?

I have little to say about this. The man's an idiot.

What the **** is an "ordinary person" what color is his skin?

This twerp has tribalism as a disease

Big difference between being a supremacist and wanting to stick with your own kind. Most people prefer to be around others who are the same race and have similar lifestyles and beliefs because it's considered a comfort zone. That's not being racist, it's just human nature and a fact of life.

Supremacists are few in number but they are usually the most vocal and the most radical, that's why we hear about them and hear from them more than "ordinary people". Supremacy isn't just limited to whites. I've run across some blacks who I believe could be supremacists based on how racist they are.

The OP "story" comes from PJ Media which is a highly conservative blog.

Keep believing that, and you will play into the hands of your political enemies.

It's the same stuff all the time. Some extremist goes on CNN, and then all righties say CNN says this how dare they. Then after they post this they go back and complain that CNN doesn't show both sides of the issue, even though they never give them credit for actually showing both sides of the issue (which includes the sides they don't like)

And still you watch and pay attention to corporate state media owned by 6 multinational corporations.

They obviously approved of what they were quoting.

The system needs the masses to be forever quibbling amongst themselves and the public eagerly participates in its own demise.

Well, no, I don't even own a TV anymore. I see CNN quoted here and there, and they are getting pretty crazy.

They obviously approved of what they were quoting.

So when Fox News quoted Obama saying Obamacare is good, Fox News approved of that statement

Do you honestly not understand how the news media business works? Or was Jeffrey Lord on CNN, because that was CNN's official position? SMH:lamo

I understand completely - the networks keep folks that they like and fire those that they don't like.

Some Insiders ?Elated? as CNN Sacks Jeffrey Lord

The moron was useful tool (punching bag?) for a while and was then dismissed.

LA Times

We will soon see if Blake gets the same treatment.

Well, no, I don't even own a TV anymore. I see CNN quoted here and there, and they are getting pretty crazy.

Still, you pay attention to corporate state propaganda, and then you react to it. If you know it's bull****, I would suggest noncooperation and nonparticipation.

It ain't about nothing but money. You pay attention? You pass it on online? You participate.

Of course, news broadcasting is about money but it is also about political spin. The two are not mutually exclusive.

Nope, the political spin is about money as well, your entire media was bought up by 6 multinational corporations, the spin is about keeping the masses divided and occupied.
