Why Do I Hate Trump?

I think many of his supporters hope against hope he can learn the former skills because that is surely one way Washington works.

When he says everything is the biggest and best? He used to that in business. The legal term for it is puffery. That doesn't work well when things can be quantified, like the number of people at his inauguration, as an example. On a brochure for Trump Tower? No problem.

He is a narcissist. So he has great difficulty admitting he is wrong. And, as important, he has trouble taking others' advice. That is quite obvious. I'm sure his staff tries to guide him, and sometimes he listens, but not nearly often enough.

These are some of the things Inthought of when Inread this post Imgrabbed. Your last sentence brought these things to mind.

I think that's part of the problem many have...his puffery as you called it.

Honestly, I've studied a bit about him from time to time and the only time I've ever seen him show any sign of admitting he was wrong was the other night when he addressed his change in stance on Afghanistan...somewhat Presidential...reading a script.

Oh, Lordy. If they could just convince him to use the TelePrompTer most of the time. He's not a bad speaker. He can think on his feet. I can to, but I can't tell you how many times even I have written down and edited what I'm going to say in sensitive situations. To solve a problem with a friend, perhaps or get what I want when I want it. Words are very powerful. Presidents parse them, or at least their speech writers do.

Trump just shoots from the hip. When you're the leader of the free world? You shouldn't be doin' that.

Many of us are hoping the old dog can learn new tricks. You point out his Afghanistan speech as one of, possibly, his better ones. Maybe he's beginning to listen...

One can hope.

Maggie and I disagree on many things, and we definitely didn't start off on the right footing. But, I think we've come around to respecting each other.

The only local casino odds are for impeachment which personally I won't take because there are too many factors that could push.

If we could look each other in the eye and shake on it we could put it together...probably want to put it in escrow...but hey...the link I provided is good to go for bets.

On the other hand you'd definitely want it in escrow for your sake because I will probably not even be alive in 3 1/2 more years (info received after offering the first bet).

Last thing but maybe most important thing if we do this. Win or lose, its a gentlemens bet. No gloating. Ild like to shake your hand in 2018 no matter who wins

G'mornin' MaggieD...how about I refer to you as D and you call me B instead of D if you go abbreviated... just reflecting back. Reason is, B is for Beare which is my last name and what my friends IRL know me as...got a funny story to tell around that some day...first forum I got on was FSTV and I used my real name...gotta start somewhere, lol...

It appears to be a bit of sad irony when Trump got elected due to a desire for change...
...and now a majority of the country appears to hope he will change soon.

Another thing I pondered last night was that I misspoke...

Sometimes too many thoughts and slow fingers...

As regards the Impeachment bet...if he died they consider it a push...if he were gone due to anything else you would lose...that's why I see it as a bit of a suckers bet.

Getting back to the real deal, I'm down, my $800 against your $500 he doesn't make it as Prez for 4 years, no gloating...send me a PM and let's see if we can work out the details.

Just trippin' on the news of the day and here's a bet for you...if you win our bet, Hillary will be Prez in 2020...wanna double down? Just kidding...:mrgreen:

I think she's prepping for another shot at the crown and the only reason the D's aren't coming out with a frontrunner is it's in their best interests to wait to commit until after 2018...kinda makes sense if you think about it...why run against the anybody but Hillary crowd if you don't have to, on the other hand there's a rising trend in indicators that if the election were held today many of the Obama voters who voted for Trump would change their vote...another shot at the title...a new champ...anybody but Trump...the political circle game because neither side is worth a damn
