While We're Toppling Offensive Symbols, What About The Democratic Party?

Which is why the Left is in such a panic. They do not have a platform or even a positive message to run on. All they have is their anti-Trump rhetoric. Half of the democrat caucus in the Senate is up for reelection next November, and they are running scared. I believe that they will shoot themselves in the foot again. All of these attacks against Trump are doing them no good. I expect to see a LOT of new faces in the Senate.
 
Lol. Trump, Ryan, and McConnell have done incalculable damage to the GOP brand in just six months.

It's difficult to even imagine another 18 months of such winning.

On the other hand, the unimaginative Democrats can't produce the intellectual wherewithal to exploit such wondrous gifts.

This quote at the end of the article is something I have been thinking about as I have watched the actions of our society over the last year.

It is emblematic of the social paradigm shift I see occurring today. I am very concerned we are drifting towards making that 1984 scenario a social reality.

2016 lowest voter turnout in YEARS. I suppose you can always hope the anti Trump folks will stay home in 2018, or even 2020. We shall see lol. A bit cold water may be coming in 2018. And which party cant get there act together to govern? The Dems dont have to a damn thing, not after the last week.

I disagree. They have been seeking any and every possible emotional appeal to create a narrative compelling enough to mobilize support for Democratic candidates in the upcoming Congressional elections.

Currently it is identifying Trump supporters and the Administration as racists, using the Charlottesville riots as ammunition to get out the left and moderate votes.

I expect them to keep up the old narratives and push the racist narrative for all it's worth. IMO many Democrats are susceptible to emotional appeals, feelings motivate them on issues.

Feelings soon pass though, which is why you have to keep fanning the flames.

Time will tell how effective it will be.

We may see record turnout for 2018 midterms. If so, the GOP should be VERY concerned.
 
Democrats do have a message.

That's a tough one to call because my understanding is a lot of the district's open this time favor the Republicans.

Yes the sky is falling but it is not because some stupid statues are being moved. It is because the ugly underbelly of the Conservative movement has been energized and exposed. I would be worried if I were a Conservative too. A truly equal society is a Conservatives worst nightmare. Am I right? You believe you cannot survive without white privilege?

Since I am not white, how do I profit from "white privilege?"

I am responding to the ugly underbelly of the SJW Progressive-Left activities which support free speech/expression only when it is speech they like and support. Everything else is "Hate Speech!", even when it is history. Hence, the 1984 reference to rewriting things to suit the current narrative rather than preserving it to teach lessons.

Why do so many left-leaning proponents like to assume facts not in evidence? Don't you realize that is what always undercuts your narratives? :coffeepap:

Racist is mostly all the left has left. And it worked 9 years ago. Can't blame them for trying.

CVille might have worked closer to the election, but it's already starting to come apart and in 15 months will be a distant memory.

By next week there will be a new cause. Stone mountain maybe? Or a thug shot by police, or something.

What is so "new" about rejecting Nazi's? I would argue that what is new is that Conservatives like you are revealing your true colors and they are not American or even traditional Conservative values. It is doing irreparable harm to your cause and can lead nowhere but ruin. It is a given that we will not allow hate groups to flourish in our midst without opposition. You can yell about free speech all you want, but when you legitimize those groups by giving them your own political lean it is suicide. Do you think with a choice between Nazi's and the left wing the American people will choose Nazi's? It is looking more and more like that is the choice you want us to make.
I am more worried that now that conservatives are in power, they are revealing that they are unable to govern under our Democracy so their supporters are looking elsewhere for a system that is more suited to their goals....like authoritarianism for instance.

That doesn't have anything to do with the thread. The thread is about since we're toppling offensive symbols, then the Democratic party should be wiped from history and all of those bigot's statues and other such things should be removed from existence. We'll start with Robert Byrd and move on to the rest of the the Democratic racists.

The South lost, and were traitors to the United States of America. That is why the symbols should be removed, not because they are offensive to certain parts of the population.. that is only a bonus.
