Actually he didn't say anything that would be normally considered pandering. He said both sides had been illegally violent and should be condemned. On the other hand, the media said over and again that Trump had pandered to or supported the right extremists. So it is quite normal that many citizens would be falsely informed, if they haven't watched the videos.

Just like Commies love Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton... just because extremist groups like a particular position, person or policy, does not mean that person or policy is extremist...

I see. So the bombing of German military positions in World War II is morally equivalent to Nazi violence against Jews.

Or, as William F. This wasn't war... this wasn't self defense... This was two extremist protester groups brawling it out... and one berserk evil dude that decided to run over people. You really want to make it simple as ... Nazi=bad guys... let's punch bad guys...

ANTIFA has significantly more members... more influence... has caused more damage over the last two years... and has half the media endorsing them, even though they are a domestic terrorist organization. The White nationalists are little insignificant cockroaches in comparison to anything...

It's not that difficult: If you make a political statement that a Communist applauds, it is at least arguable that your political statement is a positive one from a Communist point of view.
