There is no denying that day-by-day, inch-by inch we are becoming Europe. Recent events in Charlottesville support this and we would do well to pay attention to the ramifications for the future of our way of life.

The lesson in Charlottesville is that the two sides are ideologically indistinguishable in their method of operation. Each is convinced of the righteousness of its cause and each will settle for nothing less than to stamp out the other side. Each carries its own flag proudly displaying its own brand of political correctness.

Political correctness is not new only its current name is recent. Political correctness was trademarked successfully with the epic film Birth of a Nation early in the last century with heroic vigilante figures donning sheets and riding horse-back ostensibly to defend the honor of its origins against interlopers. It was not a proud time for our people but it was nonetheless political correctness-We are good, you are bad-We are right, you are wrong.

Today political correctness has a new face but it’s no less dangerous and no less wrongheaded. It drives mobs into communities to blot out their cultural identity and local color if they don’t “play ball” with the narrative of contemporary political self-righteousness. So the hordes start toppling historic statues like invaders with ropes pulling down the likeness of Saddam Hussein.

Most people do not know that black slavery was not started by southern white Americans. It was initiated by black African tribal chiefs who were getting fabulously wealthy by netting their brethren and selling them to slave traders. But no one seems to be letting facts get in the way-We are good, you are bad-We are right, you are wrong.

Political correctness is a difficult animal to kill because its shape is circular. You can’t tell the front from the back or the head from the tail. When crusaders march into southern communities as counter-protesters they are essentially exercising a kind of ethnic cleansing because the vast majority of the community has no dog in the fight of white nationalism. The crusaders are really there to round up the locals and intimidate them to get in line.

How much like Europe are we willing to become?

Your post is just plain good old fashioned Southern white racist bullcrap. No one is erasing Southern history. No one is erasing Confederate history.

Charlottesville wasn't a protest. It was a street fight. There was no redeeming quality to anything that happened in Charlottesville and if it speaks to anything it would only be that the general decline in the national political discourse is bouncing along the bottom.

the two sides are ideologically indistinguishable in their method of operation.

Let's pretend you were actually correct for a second. You're not, but let's pretend.

How someone chooses to protest an idea has nothing to do with whether or not the idea is right or wrong. The saying goes that desperate times call for desperate measure. When you're life and basic rights are on the line it's reasonable to expect some people to lash out. But Nazis and Klan members don't want to simply survive. They want supremacy. They want a world where only they have power, and all others are either exterminated completely or relegated to slavery and servitude.

If you want to convince someone you're better, and deserve supremacy, then you have to prove it by being better. If your tactics are the same as those who you wish to exterminate then you're proving that you are not better at all, and at best the equal of those you want destroy. So if you're right, and the two sides are ideologically indistinguishable, then the side who is calling for equality is correct, and the side demanding supremacy is wrong.

No, it's a very simple matter to deny that. It's simply not happening.

No, that's not 'the lesson' from Charlottesvill, since the two sides are not indistinguishable.

It doesn't sound like you're even trying to make any sense.

If you don't get it, you don't get it. The points were stated as clearly and concisely as possible. Perhaps a dispassionate study of European history would help?

Congrats! You managed a good domonstration of his thesis. Very good, in fact.

Nazis have preached white supremacy for decades. Over the past 40 years or so we've pointed at them and scoffed because they hold no political power whatsoever. They have generally been the butt of various political jokes for decades but now, for some reason, they are considered to be a threat. Why is that?

It's because the left wing in this country lost an election to Donald Trump and they want a boogieman to blame. The Russia narrative fell apart and the left needed a new enemy so today it's Nazis. You guys finally got to the bottom of the barrel and found a group that nobody supports and you're trying to blame them for the Trump election. When this latest attempt fails will you FINALLY look in the mirror and see who is to blame?

I seriously doubt it.

for some reason, they are considered to be a threat. Why is that?
Because the current President of the United States who has access to nuclear weapons agrees with their ideology, and is apparently scared to cross them.

The Russia narrative fell apart and the left needed a new enemy so today it's Nazis.
No, actually subpoenas have been issued and a grand jury convened on the Russian probe. The FBI recently raided Paul Manfort's home.

Your take is that Trump is a Nazi?

Well, this is a useless conversation.

Arguably, it's worse, e.g., these two paragraphs, graduating from stupid to incomprehensible:

"Most people do not know that black slavery was not started by southern white Americans. The first paragraph is factually inaccurate. Many of the earliest slaves were seized in raids along the African coast. The tribal leaders that later entered the slave market did so because there were Buyers. The main point, however, is that "who started it" is morally irrelevant. The moral question is who participated in it.

The second paragraph is a of masterpiece of gobbledygook.

Your take is that Trump is a Nazi?

Trump is the textbook definition of a fascist. You can live in denial all you want, but the fact that Nazi's are dancing in the streets with delight as a result of his election proves it. If you look like a goose, you talk like a goose, and you step like a goose, you're probably a goose.

Trump is not a Fascist. He tends more toward free markets than he does government control of industry. He hasn't taken any steps to suppress those who oppose him politically and he hasn't made any moves that could reasonably be construed as dictatorial.

The two sides?

Whose side are you lumping the Nazis in with?

It's Nazis vs Americans, yes?

Literally one of the dumbest things I have ever heard anyone say. Wow.

Okay, I take back what I said about your last post.

Yep...

This is the core of it.

But keep in mind, the political leadership in Charlottesville, did NOT give the police authorization to respond against the Antifa crowd who was blatantly breaking the law, but rather allowed the situation to escalate until there were regrettable fatalities.

And, keep in mind, as distasteful as the Neo-Nazis message might have been, they did obtain a valid and legal permit for their rally.

They should have been allowed to make their stupid speeches and make their silly claims of white racial supremacy.

Letting them speak would have caused them to largely defeat themselves!

But, as you said, the Lefties need a BooggieMan to rally their followers around... so.... several people died.

Not sure where your version of history comes from but African kings were selling their own people as far back as the 800's. It was a common practice and brought great wealth to many African kingdoms. Some of my ancestors came to America in the 1680's under indentured servitude which was no prize. They couldn't marry and had no legal standing until the debt for transport was paid. Unless you were lucky then you were likely to be beaten and abused much like black slaves. Prison was par for the course if you ran and prison in those days was likely your last resting place. They don't teach real history in school.

Slavery goes back at least as far as the ancient world. The topic was the American slave market, however.

I think you mean Hillary, McCain, Obama, and the entire Establishment members of the Democratic and Republican Parties.

Who they all supported in the Ukraine was an unholy trinity of: Oligarchs, gangsters, and actual Nazis.

Pro-Russian Ukrainians during WWII sided with Communist Russia. Anti-Russian Ukrainians sided with pro-German Nazis. Those sentimental connections between "West" and "East" still exist in modern day Ukraine. And the Nazi Ukrainians had a remarkable rise again in the Ukraine helped by Jew, black, Latino, and whites in both the two-party crime families known as the Democrats and Republicans.

The Russians alone have opposed in steadfast fashion the rise of Nazis and ISIS. All of which the Democratic Party has helped progress across the world stage but whines that American Supremacy should be free of being attacked by Nazis and ISIS.
