Should we continue to honor Robert E. Lee?

I think a good case can be made for why both men deserve a statute. I think there is also reasons why a statue to both men could be protested.

We will just disagree on this issue. Hopefully respectfully and without resorting to violence trying to prove why our point is the only correct one.

when a man leads an armed insurrection and fails. when a man wages war against the United States he most certainly does not deserve a statue.

Before I'll start ignoring you, it isn't even advertising. But what am I supposed to expect from a person like you? Clearly doesnt know how to use the right words due to his lack of intelligence.

Yes you are right. You are much smarter than me. But....I am able to debate here.

Should we continue to honor this man?

Some will try to equivocate and say George Washington owned slaves. But Washington freed his slaves when he died. Lee tried to prevent the slaves his father freed from being freed. Lee's troops captured free Blacks in the North and sent them into slavery. His troops were especially brutal to captured Black Union soldiers.

And here is a statement from one of Lee's former slaves who was captured after a failed escape attempt.

9 of the first 11 Presidents owned slaves.

The views of Robert E. Lee were common in his generation. Instead of being embarrassed or ashamed about our history, we should embrace it. This is our history.
