GoDaddy Bans Daily Stormer

Go Daddy is free to business or not do business with anyone it wishes.

That said Internet media companies - google, facebook, twitter - exercising too much control over the virtual public square is worrisome. Not as much a problem with hosting companies provided people have the ability to easily connect their own servers to the Internet.

Shutting down is forcing them to move. GD cannot phsyically shut down another person's property. They can only withhold future service.

BTW, did you know this asshole is from Ohio? I didn't.

Good article about it in the Columbus Alive.

"Morningstar Ministries"? Are they are registered as a religious non-profit?

What does the government have to do with anything? This is a business decision. The government shouldn't shut down any sites at all.

And the NFL can make a biz decision to shut a player out!

Morningstar is. I don't think DS is affiliated with them though. They just use the same suites for a drop box, apparently.

There is nothing funny about that.

If Go Daddy has shut down a site, that's its business decision, and good for it. But the larger question is whether Storm Front and other hate sites should be allowed to exist.

I say, "First Amendment."

They should not. The hosting companies for all those sites should kick them off.

So when are site tied too The New Black Panther Party going to be banned?

No I did not know the owner of this website was from Worthington. I didn't know about the website until today. I know these websites exist but I have no desire to read their trash.

It's crazy. Two days in and I find out the Stormer nut is from Ohio just like the car assassin.

Sessions is expanding the investigation to include others that may have been involved in the car assault. You may be on to something because this website was a big part of organizing the protest.

Funny how the Trump apologists and Cons want to give businesses the right to refuse serve to gays, and anyone they don't like but in cases like this they scream 1st amendment(which has NOTHING to do with Godaddy's decision) and it's a government decision(who also has NOTHING to do with Godaddy's decision)..

They 'try' to defend the Nazis rights but not gays, and others they don't like. Kind of puts it all in perspective, doesn't it?

Hating Nazis should be encouraged.

What does that mean exactly? Should it be encouraged to harm and even kill them?

They have a right to exist, just as every other group in the United States.

Until they ban all hate sites, regardless of ideology, this amounts to nothing more than political hacktivism.

Any website is free to make its own decisions about continuing to host a hate group and whether that group violates the TOS, but I guess I like the lights on when it comes to cockroaches. ;)

It is based on the reason.

Many good people deny the LGBTQ community certain business rights not based on discriminatory reasons, but strictly based on religious rights granted in the U.S constitution.

Christians shouldn't be forced to do things that go against their faith or principle. Just as a black Americans shouldn't be forced to do business with a member of the KKK or a white supremacist group.

I have no problem with a black business owner that denies service to a white supremacist group, so I would have no problem with Christian denying service to a member of the LGBTQ community.

Just my two cents.

Yes they are, and I'm free to highlight their partisan hackery.

I'm talking about the posters HERE, who have in many cases attacked the victim, and in this thread Godaddy, not the NR. I don't read NR, I don't care about their opinion. Your post about the 1st Amendment is 1 of the post HERE that I was talking about. The 1st Amendment has NOTHING to do with the this. But I'll bet you are all for businesses refusing to serve gays.

Hate as in, "I hate Nazis."

Hmmm....maybe I should buy the T shirt.

Boy can u here the out cry if someone banned gay message boards etc!

The funny thing is Heyer was white...

They probably consider her a race traitor of some form. They also tend to think such white people are ashamed to be white.

People actually like gay folks. No one likes Nazis except, well, Nazis.
