David Duke: Why We Voted for Trump

Republicans are not marching with swastikas.

Yeah they are. But you're not going to admit it. The Southern Strategy tapped into that Republican racism for decades. But it was covert. Now thanks to Trump it's more in the open, the racists are vocal and controlling much of the party right now, Trump's silence is proof of that. Problem is the Moderates, like you, are silent also.

Well, so much for the argument that Trump does not represent the White Supremacist class.

Yep. Slam Dunk. Donald is the Great White Hope.

Duke as well as other white nationalists strong support for Trump speaks volumes. Republican partisan hacks on this forum will immediately scream "But black racists liked Obama!", but they are ignoring one key difference. Black racists who liked Obama liked him because after 43 white presidents, they finally got a half black guy into the white house. Does that make it right? No, but there's a difference between supporting a guy because of his skin color, and supporting someone because of their rhetoric. Unlike Trump, Obama never pandered to the black panthers, or any specific black racist groups out there. Trump on the other hand DID pander to the white nationalist crowd, which is why scumbags like David Duke supported him so strongly. If white nationalists didn't like Trump's rhetoric, why didn't they strongly support other white GOP candidates like Jeb Bush, John Kasich, Chris Christie, Scott Walker, etc. I don't remember Duke ever praising Mitt Romney, John McCain, or GW. Bush like he did Trump. Whether the GOP posters on this forum want to admit it or not...the reason why so many white nationalists backed Trump is because they liked his rhetoric. They liked that he was a birther. They liked that he said he was going to build a wall. They liked his Muslim Ban. They like the fact that he tweeted bogus statistics about black on white crime. THAT'S the main difference between white racists supporting Trump and black racists supporting Obama.

How many times did leftists on this site declare that Obama had no responsibility for connection to black activists and had no reason to take accountability for or condemn their actions?

'Sides'. Thats ****ing hilarious.

Do you have any quotes like this from Obama?

If so, please post. I'll wait.

Let's see. Accusations, guilt by association and a liberal portion of racial tension. I rate the bait an 8.

During Obama's 8 years in office, every time a black person committed a crime against a white person, the right wing automatically blamed Obama for it. What goes around comes around. Unlike Obama, Trump pandered to the far right, and has incited violence. What happened today is largely a direct result of Donald Trump's rhetoric. He's emboldened the racist far right...and Duke's tweets prove it.

An Trump never was willing to denounce Duke either.

Trump was actually against Duke back in 2000, which is why he left the reform party.

But in 2015 when Trump was pretending to be a conservative by pandering to the far right, Duke became a strong supporter, and Trump suddenly pretended that he never knew who Duke was.

Trump is truly a piece of garbage. Despicable in every aspect.

Watch them bring up the "police acted stupidity" incident. GOP voters are in desperation mode at this point. They know deep down inside that what happened today is largely the fault of President Donald Trump.

And Trump's "speech" today was horrendous. He had a chance to completely stomp on the far right white nationalist crowd today...and he didn't. Why? Because he knows they are supporters, and at this point, he can't lose any supporters.

Compare Trump's garbage speech to what the Virginia Governor said, and you'll see the stark difference

Yep, spot on.

And our new Republican president today for some reason decided to not specifically single out the white nationalists terrorists responsible for today's events...Hmm, could it be because he knows those people voted for him, and he doesn't want to lose any of the few supporters he has left?

The lowlife scumbag was calling for a revolution when Obama was elected.

Wonder why.

Trump LOVES the electoral college now. I wonder why? LOL.

There are racists on both sides of the political spectrum. I'm not giving either side a free pass. It is what it is. So, don't flame me for what I'm about to say:

The man guiding many of David Duke's talking points for many years is a guy named John Tanton. Tanton is a multi-millionaire into eugenics.

At one point, Steve Bannon was so involved in eugenics that he wanted to make a documentary about it and give Mel Gibson the lead spot.

Both Steve Bannon and David Duke subscribe to the same racial and political philosophies. Trump is cozy with Bannon and knowingly spouts political rhetoric that is cooked up in John Tanton's non-profit organizations. And, when Trump ran for office, he denied knowing who David Duke was while Duke and Trump were well acquainted, as you pointed out. In addition, Duke was sending out letters to his supporters during the election, teaching them how to become electors that could support Trump.

Personally, I would feel more comfortable if Trump would simply admit the obvious. I hate to see his supporters groveling at the feet of the powers that be, claiming they have nothing in common with white supremacists (sic) and then relying on Tanton's talking points, research, and alleged facts about certain political issues. It's almost as silly as people telling me Obama was not a Muslim.

Gee whiz, people. Get the facts.

Trump won't admit the obvious, because he knows it would alienate the far right, which is a significant portion of his base.

My issue with what Trump said is that he did not call out the KKK, White Nationalists, whatever you want to call them when he continually went after Obama for not calling them Muslim terrorists - whether they were or not. He was also doing fine until he made it about himself. He should have stopped when he was ahead.
It's really easy to be an armchair quarterback. Not so easy when you're they one calling the shots.

Remember when ... trump refused to even discuss Dukkke and the KKK BEFORE the southern primaries, which propelled him to the nomination ?

trump's southern strategy last year was to deny Dukkke and the KKK until after the southern primaries ...

Does that video have anything to do with white supremacists?

The Virginia state elections should be interesting 11/7/17. Don't underestimate the hate vote generated by the new face of the GOP, Dukkke and the KKK.

Expect DEM Northam to have a tough time with GOP Gillespie for governor. DEMs have high votes for the VA lower house ...

We'll have to see. I already see where the Right loons are blaming today's violence on the left instead of on the Nazis who wanted to hold a rally.

I tried to tell people on the left months ago what would happen with this confederate statue issue when it first broke in New Orleans with Mayor Landrieu. At that time, it had also spread to AZ.

And what do you think happened? Lefties and certain trolling posters came after me as a racist for caring about GOPs using this as an election cudgel in red and swing states.

I assure you my Illinois south of I-80 is swingy at best and red in several parts. trump won 70 of our 102 counties. We still have towns that allow signs saying 'darkeytown' ...

I know Illinois quite well. It's basically Kentucky or Missouri once you get south of I-70, for sure. In between 80 and 70 it's purple at best. Probably mostly red though.

You're looking at one with trump ...
Does that video have anything to do with white supremacists? If you claim that video shows Trump supporting white supremacists can you point to what point in the video that occurs?
