Stop Whining, Start Nuking.

You should really have read the post before commenting.

Let me help you with a less complex edition.

DMZ artillery and other NK Military vaporized.

Kim, Pyongyang and nuclear weapons vaporized.

War over in 30 seconds.

No chance to use artillery.

No chance to counterattack.

No need to invade or occupy.

Problem solved.

If we have the guts to do it.

Were it as simple as your understanding.

We would then face one of the largest humanitarian crises of all time with millions of injured, displaced Koreans from both countries, and a total collapse of the 11th largest economy on earth.

China would probably declare war on us, and that would just be a ton of fun.

You actually think China would declare war on her biggest customer, thus killing her own economy?

Think again.

There would be very little damage to South Korea and her economy would go on as it is.

China would take care of the beaten North Koreans and set up a puppet government........and North Korea would be developed and become a prosperous part of China.

You left out that we cannot guarantee that NK will not be able to lob one of their nukes at Seoul. Like we needed another reason

You cannot guarantee that they have one that would work.

Cowardly fear-mongering leads to doing nothing.......and we cannot guarantee that doing nothing will not eventually lead to a nuke hitting America.

Actually it means that N. Korea is not a viable target for any President no matter how war mongering he may be. It could be because it would mean the destruction of the 10th largest economy in the world or that a global war with China is also unthinkable. Take your pick.

As I have shown, neither war with China nor the destruction of South Korea would happen.

What would happen is the elimination of a deadly threat to America.......because somebody finally had the guts to do something instead of talking.

I'm sure the S. Koreans will believe you over all the military intelligence. I mean what do they have to lose? They live right next to that "deadly threat" and built the 10th largest economy in the world. Now you want their destruction so we look like we had "guts".

We will be keeping our dick in our pants on this one so don't get your hopes up. Blame the one who did that to you too. Trump is such a tease....

Fallout is minimal in modern tactical nukes and the strike obviously would be done when winds are blowing out to sea to get rid of that small amount with no harm to SK or China.

IF anything survived our Predator Drones would be in the air and it would mopped up immediately.

North Korea is an enemy. In war innocent civilians get killed.

Do you want it to be them or us?

Yes, we could take out all the artillery and military forces that are concentrated within 20 miles of the border.

Yes, we could take out Pyongyang and Kim and his (very few and unreliable) nukes.

All done in 30 seconds.

Like I said, we don't know where a lot of their artillery are. If you want any hope of destroying all of it, you're gonna have to basically blow up the entire country, which will be substantial enough to cause issues for SK. And kill millions of innocent North Koreans in the process who did nothing to deserve this, and many of whom probably would like to escape. That is not "normal" civilian causalities. That is a ****ing slaughter.

It isn't "them or us." That is laughably absurd to even suggest. North Korea isn't remotely capable of seriously attacking the US, much less destroying it. Even South Korea alone could take them down without any doubt (albeit at a great cost of life).

The real choice is not "us or them," but rather, America swinging its dick like a frat boy with a Napoleon complex by picking off a weak nation for the sake of its own ego at the cost of tens of millions of innocent people and a world war, or actually learning how to do diplomacy properly like ****ing grown-ups.

P.S. I notice you ignored most of my points.

Wrong.

The nukes we would use would obviously NOT have to "reach across the ocean."

We have been prepared with low-yield tactical nukes in South Korea since the late sixties.

The coordinated strike would be over in 30 seconds.

:ind:

Yeah, because I'm sure NK won't notice that, what with their constant surveillance of Seoul and underground tunnels into SK.

Are you even remotely educated on this topic?

It's not just the nukes, the artillery north of Seoul needs to be totally destroyed in one event and Kim and his nukes need to be destroyed in the same event.

That means tactical, low-yield nukes (which are already in South Korea and aimed at the proper targets).

All we need is the guts to DO IT.

Trump may have the guts.

We can only hope he does.

That is an insane option.

You wave that flag as if you are a big time patriot. You're a common warmonger.

China, and Russia, would see a literal mass murderer on par with Adolf Hitler in control of a huge nuclear arsenal and probably decide that such a thing cannot be allowed to exist. They're not going to give two ****s about their profit margins when their very survival is at stake.

South Korea would be devastated by your border barrage.

Hey OP, which other parts of the world would you commit genocide in, given the chance?

Hey OP, which other parts of the world would you commit genocide in, given the chance?

Lets see:
Middle east, just a bunch of islamo fascists,
China & Russia commies, they need to go
Central/South America where all the illegals come from
Africa has black people
India brown people

Basically everywhere but western Europe and Canada would be a good idea

Do you realize that China has also pledged it's support for N Korea if it is attacked first? Nothing has changed. N. Korea will keep its nukes and missiles and Trump has made America look weak and impotent by his bellicose posturing. The NK regime has been threatening to attack Guam, Japan and Hawaii for years and they never do anything. Trump fell for their bluff and America is weaker for it.

Which is one reasi, why it might be the best thing to stop their efforts by massive attack.

Murdering five million people, you mean. Don't mince words. Say it. Say you think the best thing might be murdering five million people.

Let's call a halt to all the whining about North Korea and just deal with it. The waffling is making America look weak and making North Korea look strong. North Korea, rather than strong, is a nothing Fifth-World Country.......an annoying insect.

Liberals are wailing and crying that we can't use force on North Korea because North Korea could destroy Seoul in South Korea with artillery and millions would die.

Seoul would not become a "sea of fire." Seoul would be only slightly damaged if at all.

If Kim fires a missile at Guam we should just vaporize all artillery and all military in a 20-mile swath along the border north of Seoul and also vaporize everything within 20 miles of Pyongyang with low-yield tactical nukes.

Take out all military targets in the rest of the country. This would happen in a coordinated 30 seconds.

War over. Then let China move in and take over and restore order. Problem solved. More hungry and eager workers for Chinese factories. More cheap products for the U.S.

Let the world, especially Iran, ponder and digest this act of strength and resolve........when it sinks in, many noisy mouths will shut the F up.

:doh That won't work as cleanly as you seem to think.

This guy makes more sense, at least to me.

How to Take Down Kim Jong Un - POLITICO Magazine

At the State Department, I oversaw the U.S. government’s efforts to get information into North Korea. We funded defector-run radio stations, which had the added benefit of training North Koreans to be journalists. We saw an increase in North Koreans watching Chinese and South Korean TV, and supported groups producing shows North Koreans would find interesting (like reality shows about the daily experiences—good and bad—of defectors in the South). We helped non-governmental organizations that send in foreign movies and TV shows through the market trade, including one group that made cross-border deliveries by drone of specific films that North Koreans requested (we used to joke that we were running a peculiar version of Netflix for North Korea). A big priority was educating North Koreans on how to protect themselves from surveillance, and staying ahead of regime efforts to turn technology against its people. Last year, for example, we learned that North Korea had updated the operating system for its cellphones so that they could read media only with a government-approved digital signature; there should be a countermeasure for this (and hopefully for whatever the regime does to counter the countermeasure).

I imagined the information flowing into North Korea as a pyramid. The base of the pyramid, the majority of content, is entertainment—South Korean TV dramas, pop music and foreign movies. North Koreans watch these not just for the stories but for the background details. Consider what a cop show, or teenage school drama, can teach about how people in a normal country interact with authority. Think what a family sitcom can reveal about how we eat, shop and dress, and how preoccupied we are with our personal lives and loves over service to the state. One North Korean defector, a young woman named Park Yeon-mi, has described the effect of watching the final scene of the movie Titanic: “Everything in North Korea was about the leader, all the books, music and TV,” she said. “So what was shocking to me about Titanic was that the guy gave his life for the woman and not for his countryI just couldn’t understand that mind-set.”

Those whose curiosity is sparked by Leonardo DiCaprio can move up to nonfiction—reality shows, including about how North Koreans deal with the challenges of life in South Korea, and documentaries about food, and travel and culture. One more level up the pyramid are textbooks, documentaries about history (those showing what really happened in the Korean War are particularly important) and encyclopedias. The entire Korean-language Wikipedia fits on one tiny USB and has been sent into the North. At the very top of the pyramid, of interest to the fewest people and most dangerous to consume, is explicitly political information about human rights and democracy. It is essential that none of this resemble the propaganda North Koreans hear from their state, because they wouldn’t believe it. The best content is honest about problems in America and South Korea, while showing how citizens in a free country can address them.

You do realise that China has moved more towards the US position since Trump put on the heat, than in the previous decade?

No, I see no evidence of that. So far all they have done is sign a UN resolution that they won't enforce and promised to support NK if the U.S. strikes.

You also realise that a unilateral use of a small nuclear strike to save us from having to risk the lives of American soliers or those of the citizens of allies might be the best next move for the global state of security?

Nobody should realize that. The proper path is to ignore NK and start putting serious sanctions on China.

Which is one reasi, why it might be the best thing to stop their efforts by massive attack.

How so? In the real world there is not a chance in hell we will risk the destruction of S. Korea because of some words. Did we attack Russia when Kruschev banged his shoe on his desk at the U.N. and said "We will bury you."?

“Let's call a halt to all the whining about North Korea and just deal with it. The waffling is making America look weak and making North Korea look strong. North Korea, rather than strong, is a nothing Fifth-World Country.......an annoying insect.”

There are insects that spread disease that kill people. NK is one of them. It is foolish to believe that any country with nuclear weapon capability is merely an “insect”,

“Liberals are wailing and crying that we can't use force on North Korea because North Korea could destroy Seoul in South Korea with artillery and millions would die.”

You are stating a premise without conclusion. Do you think it’s OK to “…destroy Seoul in South Korea with artillery and millions would die.”? What’s your solution?

“Seoul would not become a "sea of fire." Seoul would be only slightly damaged if at all.”

I’m not sure I understand what you are trying to say. In a war, Seoul would be damaged much beyond “slightly.” On what do you base this opinion of yours?

“If Kim fires a missile at Guam we should just vaporize all artillery and all military in a 20-mile swath along the border north of Seoul and also vaporize everything within 20 miles of
Pyongyang with low-yield tactical nukes.”

Brilliant. You, obviously, like Trump, know more than the generals. And, that as long as happens what you say, the losses of “the good side” is acceptable. Explain us that.

“Take out all military targets in the rest of the country. This would happen in a coordinated 30 seconds.”

Your nuts.

“War over. Then let China move in and take over and restore order. Problem solved. More hungry and eager workers for Chinese factories. More cheap products for the U.S.”

At least you now take a position that has positive economic outcome, in your opinion. Still, a mere permutation of possibility.

“Let the world, especially Iran, ponder and digest this act of strength and resolve........when it sinks in, many noisy mouths will shut the F up.”

You are predicating the aftermath of a horrible act that you’ve, in this post, yet to respond with justification that we commit such an act.
