Now there are three nations that Trump has threatened:

North Korea - https://www.debatepolitics.com/general-political-discussion/293295-snowflakes-and-bombs.html
Iran -http://www.skynews.com.au/news/politics/international/2017/07/22/trump-threatens-iran-unless-citizens-released.html
Venezuela - https://www.debatepolitics.com/brea...-wont-rule-out-military-option-venezuela.html

Is it possible that the Trumpster is becoming more nervous about the findings of Mueller's work? Could it be that Donald is acting like a schoolyard bully in an attempt to draw more support from Americans?

Is he making the threats against America seem much more dangerous than they really are?

"Americans must join together to fight the evil in the world. That means we can't allow this inconsequential investigation to continue. Mueller isn't finding anything and he needs to stop the distraction while we face real threats."

There are those that are trying to sell the opinion internationally that the reason for Trump's way of handling the NK affair is to deflect from domestic problems. And to be truthful the logic does make sense.

Are there other explanations that make asmuch or more sense? Absolutely.

Is he exaggerating the danger? Absolutely not.

With respect, Trump has noticed that a lunatic has threatened to launch nuclear missiles at the USA.

He has also noted that this kind of rhetoric is not a departure from the actions of this lunatic's country.

The difference is that the lunatic now has a weapon that makes his lunacy dangerous to the people of the United States.

I remember a cop show in which the grizzled veteran tells a rookie that when a crook points a gun at him, he's made a commitment to kill.

He went on to say that doing nothing is making a commitment to die.

Trump said fire and fury and Clinton said overwhelmingly retaliate. What's the difference?

Unless you think it's possible that Trump convinced the NK's to launch ICBM's capable of reaching the US...more than once...I'd say you should have started this thread in the CT forum.

Isn't that where "Wag the Dog" ended up?

It seems the Right is falling in step behind the President in the march to war. Such good little minions. Such idiots for believing that threatening an obvious nut job, Kim Jong-Un, is really a good way to move forward. Adults don't, well they shouldn't, act like 5 year olds in a plyground confrontation but it seems that is about as mature as Trump can be. A fact that I find ****ing scary.

But you seem to have ignored Iran and that other nation I mentioned.

Has Iran violated the agreement put together, not only by Obama but also by six other countries?

Why has Trump threatened Venezuela?

I don't think trump is serious about Venezuela. He seems to have loose lips and a bullying attitude. However, this whole scenario makes this article from last year scary

He didn't threaten Venezuela.

In this case, I don't think so... though I'm sure he welcomes the distraction as a side benefit.

Trump: 'I'm not going to rule out a military option' for Venezuela - Business Insider

"We have many options for Venezuela. This is our neighbor ... this is — we're all over the world, and we have troops all over the world in places that are very, very far away," Trump added. "Venezuela is not very far away, and the people are suffering, and they're dying. We have many options for Venezuela, including a possible military option, if necessary."

Asked if it would be a US-led military operation, Trump said, "We don't talk about it, but a military operation, a military option is certainly something that we could pursue."
Sounds like a threat to me.

idk. He was asked a question by the press and its the standard answer that I've heard by previous Presidents. They all say they won't rule out military action.

How ridiculous. It was Obama who told Trump upon leaving office that North Korea would be his biggest challenge.

Yeah, that's exactly what it is. He convinced shorty to threaten the US Mainland and Guam and the rest of his neighbors with nuclear holocaust. And he obliged.

It never ends, does it?

How ridiculous. It was Obama who told Trump upon leaving office that North Korea would be his biggest challenge.

So it was Obama's fault? What a surprise - NOT.

When one adult speaks to another being who, at least initially, they see as a rational being, the first adult obviously didn't fully understand the nature of the beast he was talking to.

A rational adult who receives a warning does not then go out and proclaim to the world that he is biggest, baddest mother ****er on the planet. A trait more often seen with those who have self-doubt than those who understand world affairs.

Wait, when you say "shorty" you mean the fat man with the weird haircut who constantly craves adoration and lies about his personal achievements, right?

You've twisted my words like a true socialist would. I don't usually reply to you because I don't see the sense in debating with someone who upfront calls himself a socialist. It is a lost cause. Have a good day.

Other that not knowing how an actual socialist thinks or behaves, so you had to be a bit negative.

I must however, apologise for misunderstanding your intentions in your prior comment.

It isn't so much that Trump is threatening war to distract from Mueller's investigation. It's that Trump throws stuff against the wall to distract from the last stuff he threw against the wall. It's his MO.
