How do we prevent another Trump?

So the answer to your question is: End the hyperbole and negativity, stop being insulting to people just because you don't agree with them and operate in the realm of reality, instead of projection of your attributes onto others. Do those things and you might have a better chance at wining than a cellophane dog in a blast furnace. But until the left figures out that hate, division, insults, and blatant dishonesty are not attributes that people are looking for, you will continue to lose ground.

The right wing spent 8 years calling Obama a foreign born muslim socialist, including Trump who for years pushed the bogus birther issue in a (successful) attempt to pander to Republican voters. They also insulted Obama voters, calling them lazy welfare using dead beats, anti white racists, and "low information voters". Now suddenly the right wants the left to "play nice"? Please, what goes around comes around. The right wing acted like despicable scumbags for 8 years...and that includes Trump.

convince more millennials to vote in the primaries. That's where we went wrong, on both sides we let the one group of people that gets all their information from tv pick the candidates.

True to an extent. But one should call the Democrats out on having mobilised their voters so sloppily that they lost against 25 percent of the electorate.

Answer: only allow Career Politicians AKA Oligarchs AKA Swam Dwellers hold power.

The way to keep this from happening again is for Congress to learn it's lesson, particularly the Republicans, but the Democrats can learn too.

How can we be sure they learn their lesson? By 2018.
