How do we prevent another Trump?

Beat me to it, by mere seconds!

The American people showed their wisdom by voting from Clinton by a margin of over 2.8 million votes. The fault was in the vote of the Electoral College, a mechanism left over from the 1700's and badly in need of being abolished.

The DNC nominating Hilary had nothing to do with the GOP nominating Trump. You can't blame the Democrats for the Republicans nominating Trump.
No. But you can blame the Dems for nominating a candidate that couldn't beat him.

That's the most ignorant, elitist post of the month. Who put you so high upon the pedestal that you can look down on the rest of us?
You know, we disagree on a lot. But I'll gladly stand with you here.

Every man deserves his vote. Regardless of what anyone else thinks of it.

It's never too early to stop asking this. If we somehow survive until January 2021 or until the GOP wing of congress gets a backbone we need to make changes to keep this catastrophe from happening again. There has to be some counterweight against the votes of a not-insignificant portion of the electorate that no longer cares about objective facts for certain groups of their fellow Americans. Perhaps there is some way to force the GOP to use some kind of superdelegate system? Even if the GOP will pick corporate titans to be their superdelegates at least that will be better than every ignorant Bubba and Jim Bob pulling the lever for whatever angry knuckle-dragger appears on the ballot.

I’m thinking the DNC should start funneling what little monies they have to Maxine Waters as their next presidential candidate.

They will need to be frugal knowing the lunatic left and progressive ******s are a bit tight with money and donations.

This is rather funny for me, after all the vitriol and hate on the left for Trump they still don’t donate to the cause, in fact they donate less than normal.

DNC hits another fundraising low - Washington Times

Yes, but that isn't the all encompassing reason we have Trump.

Heck, it's not even the main reason we have Trump.

This. Keep this up, it is your key to winning BIGLY.

Nudge nudge ;) ;)

Yes there's the big encompassing deal, and there's the candidate.

What I'm saying is despite everything else, she lost by a hair while being by most bars a poor candidate. Her personality may have been her biggest problem, and that's huge.

But her close loss does seem to show a better candidate would have won.

We're going to survive just fine and if the current state of affairs is any indication, we'll most likely be doing quite well. The money being spent by TDS suffering liberals on psychiatric counseling alone will produce a substantial economic boom.

The continuation of the Left's demeaning attitude towards towards such a large % of this nation will keep haunting them at every step.

The GOP doesn't have super-delegates, that kind of elitism is strictly a DNC thing.

So the answer to your question is: End the hyperbole and negativity, stop being insulting to people just because you don't agree with them and operate in the realm of reality, instead of projection of your attributes onto others. Do those things and you might have a better chance at wining than a cellophane dog in a blast furnace. But until the left figures out that hate, division, insults, and blatant dishonesty are not attributes that people are looking for, you will continue to lose ground.

"Hate, division, insults and blatant dishonesty" bug you, huh?

Might wanna look at the boor in your "eye" before you attach his attributes to others.

Don’t kid yourself, the lunatic left loves this type of lunacy opinion. Some step up and say, foul, but grin while doing it.

More importantly, how do we prevent another Obama? Or another Carter?

And do go on insulting and denegrating normal Americans. We're sure to get more Trump that way.

How do you prevent another Trump?

1.Don't run another Clinton. Nothing causes people to run to republicans than a ****ty democrat.

2.End open primaries and ensure that no party switching can happen until the general election starts. This ensures that Democrats cause rat-**** or party-raid a republican primary and that republicans can not rat-**** or party raid a democrat primary.

Or maybe the DNC shouldn't have rigged its elections to promote Hillary.

Instant runoff voting would help a lot too.

I like the idea of IRV, but you'll never see it. It's a system that would give a lot more play to third parties, and the Republocrats would never allow that.

Great, so all we need to do is make sure we have a candidate who hasn't had years of right-wing-radio slander directed at them? We can always go with some candidate no one has ever heard of so that they aren't disliked. Right-wing media is going to destroy any rising star in the party. We need to fight for our candidates instead of complaining that Rush Limbog listeners don't like them.

Perhaps more male progressives should stand up to the blatant sexism directed at Hillary during the campaign instead of complaining that people don't like Hillary?

Ohhhh, that's why she lost. It wasn't that she could not connect with the voter base. It's not that she couldn't successfully stave off Trump, it's not that she completely forgot about campaigning in several states she ended up losing. It's sexism. She lost because of sexism.

Well in that case, Sanders would have won, and given that; another reason the DNC shouldn't have rigged their primaries.

lol

While there's some truth in what you say, the bottom line is she totally sucked. Even many that voted for her didn't like her. She, unlike her husband, just comes across as an unlikable person. In an age when personal charisma carries great political weight.

Do you think for one moment, that Trump would have beaten Joe Biden?

Hell, I'm not sure Trump could have beaten Bernie! But he beat Hillary.

It’s astonishing to me you find any (truth) in that post or opinion, I can assure you it wasn’t intended.

You then double down on crazy Joe and Bernie… Jee’s what a can on nuts we elect.

Pards, you are a one trick pony.

I think we are going to go through a couple of celebrity Presidents until the public realizes that maybe an actual politician might do a better job.

Actually it does matter. If we just gotten rid of the EC the last time this disaster happened then there would be no President Trump today.

Yes you are right in this specific, Haymarket. But there's a sheetload of other specifics that the same can be said.

The point is: The rules were laid out, and she lost. You don't start the game, and complain of the rules if you lose.

Yes, load the goal post into a flat bed truck and ship it to lunatic left land and their interpretation of the EC. It’s shocking that there are still HRC supporters out there. I’m trying to grasp for words, pathetic, disgusting, imbecilic, dishonest or just nitwit nonsense.

The Democrats need to put up a candidate who can motivate independents, as well as Democrats. It would really help if said candidate does NOT have an email server in their basement with which they use for official government correspondence.

It wasn't just the anti-Hillary right wing spin. If she was a decent candidate otherwise and ran a good campaign she could have won.
