Treasury said:
Claims for the ACTC by ITIN filers have increased from $924 million in Processing Year 2005 (the calendar year in which the tax return was processed) to $4.2 billion in Processing Year 2010.

And how much did this group pay in taxes? Just $900 million.

So the children of immigrants who file with a TIN (this tends to be illegals with citizen children) get paid $4 billion in tax credits alone. Add on to this food stamps, Medicaid, WIC, and other programs, and you realize how much we're paying for immigration. When is this madness going to end?

These people are US citizens

Their parents are not. Our anchor baby policy is costing us big time.

But the children are and are entitled to the rights of every citizen. The parents recieve no benefits

Of course they do. The children aren't filling out the tax returns.

You are supposed to suck it up Pal.

Your position that this is an unreasonable cost has been declared OUT OF BOUNDS by your betters.

It is really fun to tell others that "YOU" make the rules, and then have them roll over.

A real power trip!

I OBJECT!

I don't see this 900 million number in the link you provided.....However, I only read the top part thoroughly and skimmed the bottom...

illegal-immigrants-four-two-billion/

Illegals paid 12 billion in taxes and do not receive benefits....Could the system be improved absolutely, but the government and the U.S. tax payers are hardly losing out...

See table 1.

What was referenced in this Treasury Report were illegal immigrants with children who file tax returns. Not included are those without children, an obviously significant number. What the paper that you reference talks about is the larger picture. In that case yes, they are paying some taxes (but with 10+ million illegal immigrants here, this isn't a significant tax liability at all), but they're also collecting benefits through the use of fradulent SSNs.

What we do know is that those who file with TINs are collecting $4 billion in benefits. How much are those who file with fake SSNs collecting? Who knows, but in total, they're collecting a ton, and the IRS is not investigating that fraud thoroughly.

How can a tax credit be requested if illegals don't file federal income taxes?

How is this known?

How is this known?

"This includes sales and excise taxes on goods and services ($6.9 billion), property taxes ($3.6 billion) and personal income taxes ($1.1 billion, assuming a 50 percent compliance rate)." Per the the website I linked. The more conservative funded Heritage Foundation has it around 5 billion more at 17 billion.

How can a tax credit be requested if illegals don't file federal income taxes?

They can and do. They get a temporary identification number (TIN) and claim their children since the children were born here and are citizens.

Or, they can just do what many illegals do, which is use a stolen SSN.

Another name for "our anchor baby policy" is "The Constitution".

The 14th amendment was meant for former slaves, not the children of invaders.

If a child is a citizen but the parent is not, the parents should not qualify for any benefits or tax credits.

I have no issue with stable families coming here to work and contribute but if they just want to be here to have baby after baby and reap those benefits every additional dependent brings them, then we need to cut that off. Instead of building a wall, more money should be put for fraud prevention to avoid paying out benefits like that and taking away the incentive to come here and not contribute.

So it's your contention that we'd be a much better nation of people if we just got rid of the citizens.

It's not fraud. This is just how the EITC and additional child tax credits work. These are credits to children. The only way you can stop this nonsense is to end birthright citizenship.
