Guess who the people are blaming?

why would you post that? oh yea, you saw republicans try to do it. Maggie, read this very slowly, democrats are not the equal but opposite of republicans.

You couldn't be more wrong. They are exactly equal . . . Each willing to throw anyone or anyTHING under the bus to get re-elected.

thank you for your personal assurances that "they are equal" but republican efforts to sabotage the economy and undermine the recovery for their political gain is documented. Can you please give us an example of democrats doing anything similar? if you fail to post any we'll be able to chalk up your post as just another yet another obedient chat room esque flail.

Can't find a link, but Fox reports a poll showing only 10% approval rating for Congress. 2018 may be a throw the bums out surprise. And barring a special prosecutor surprise, I predict the Republican majority will increase. Middle America bears have been poked with sticks. West Virginia rally saw 8000 souls. Jobs still growing month over month. Perhaps the Dems need to do something to destroy our economy in order to win...

If there is to be throw the bums out surprise in '18, those of us who elected Trump need to come up with alternative candidates. McCain comes to mind. He probably won't serve out his present term. And the spot could well become Democratic. There are others. DWS is in deep do do. But like the Democrats, the Repubs got nothing.

You are a true believer, yes. The Dems and Pubs helped build our economy, and Trump and the far right are destroying themselves by holding out to America just what they are.

Oh, stop it. When did you stop beating your wife? Please document your bull**** assertion that Republicans' efforts to sabotage our economy are well documented. If it's your opinion, that's one thing. But... where's the beef?

And, if you fail to post proof and outline its contents in your own text, "we" will just chalk up YOUR comments as partisan hackery.

Good luck, Vern.

"...by holding out to America just what they are." What does that mean? BTW, there's few who are more aggravated by R's healthcare failure, just so you know.

Congress as a whole always has a terrible approval rating. Comparisons with the President have to be made against individual members. I expect you'll find that most do better than 33 percent. True, jobs are growing but wages aren't. People are strapped. As for the 8,000 in WV, Trump will always have his base especially in red states. Democrats meanwhile have been unseating Republicans in state houses in this souring climate against the GOP.

I almost agree with you. :)

The GOP Congress squandered what little political capital they possessed with the double ACHA/BCRA healthcare proposals in which 83% of Americans disapproved.

Collins, Murkowski, and McCain temporarily saved their bacon. Jobs are equitable to the last 6 months of Obama. Trump promised 25 million new American jobs.

Trump promised massive infrastructure improvements. Trump promised an economy growing at a very impressive 3-4% clip per year.

Republicans are backing away from/resisting Trump and are increasingly [correctly] perceiving him as a huge midterm liability.

With this sorry rate of governance, Democrats could indeed capture the House in 2018.

Got some bad news for you. Democrats currently have a 14 point lead in mid term elections. Even Rasmussen which typically leans right puts Trump's approval rating at only 39% with a 60% disapproval rating. The only things that might save this Republican congress in 2018 is gerrymandering, and the fact that Democrats have to defend more Senate seats, but that's unlikely to be enough facing a deficit like that.

Clinto was supposed to be a shoe-in, too.

If the economy had tanked, who would you blame? Obama, I'm sure. AmIRight?

I couldn't blame Trump. He hasn't done anything yet.

Are you willing to give Obama credit for a good economy? Why not admit that Trump and Republicans had to say the economy was "a mess" because that's how you get elected but it wasn't true? When Obama was president the unemployment and job numbers were not to be believed. What has changed?

Job numbers in Trump's 6 months are the same as last year under Obama. Why are they suddenly praise worthy?

With July's jobs report, employers have added a total of 1,074,000 jobs during Trump's first six full months in office.

That essentially matches the 1,084,000 jobs created during President Barack Obama's last six months in office. Both round to 1.1 million, and the 10,000 difference is well within the margin of error of the Labor Department estimate.

How Trump compares with Obama so far on jobs - Aug. 4, 2017

...

By the way, who if HRC was the second most disliked candidate in history, who was the first?

I suppose every candidate that she beat in the popular vote! Hmmmmmm.

Maybe cause they were made up under Obummer. And now they are true. Yea, that's it.

In terms of reality, she got her ass beat.

The reality he beat her politically, no doubt. But most Americans chose her. So, Trump doesn't have a mandate. And since taking office, he's succeeded in making himself more unpopular.

The problem Trump has is he believes that the desires of his base are those of the majority. They're not. If he keeps pressing an alt-right agenda he will destroy the party.

West Va is coal country. Let him go. The Democrats are not the least bit interested in the coal industry at this point, and they shouldn't be. West Virginia is going to be in for a rude awakening very soon. Coal isn't coming back. There's nothing Trump or any Republican can do about it. If they want to save their state they should be trying to figure out how to diversify their economy going forward or figure out how to harness wind, solar, and hydroelectric power.

And you wonder why whites aren't voting for Democrats anymore.

The Democrats lost 1,000 seats nationwide since 2010. President Trump absolutely has a mandate to promote a Conservative agenda.

The Democrats can't take the economy. The economy is basically on autopilot right now thanks to the actions of President Obama and Congressional Democrats back in 2009 and 2010. Republicans in congress since then have been trying to tank the economy by blocking everything Obama wanted to do since 2010 which is why the recovery took so long, but at this point we are back to full strength.

When the economy was struggling we needed congress to do something to improve it. Republicans could block congress from taking action which is how they tanked it. But now that the economy is humming along it would take action by congress or the president to **** it up. Only Republicans and Trump have the power to **** it up. If the economy goes badly over the next few years Republicans will be the only political party you can blame for it.

Anyone possibly see history repeating itself? Republicans screwing everything up, and leaving the next Democrat president to fix the mess?

And you wonder why whites aren't voting for Democrats anymore.

They are abandoning Republicans too. Despite Trump's race baiting, he actually did slightly worse than Romney in 2012 with white voters.

And more whites are starting to become registered independents and vote third party.

Both political parties need white voters, but the Republicans need them A LOT more. Without massive support from white voters, no GOP candidate can ever win the presidency.
