The Pettiness of the Left

I would think that being stripped of their status and credibility with Trump's election would be a lot worse.

For example, here's a left winger before Trump was elected:

“Regardless of the outcome, we are clearly a *deeply* divided and broken country. So much work ahead to mend, heal, and restore the U in USA.”

And the same person just a few hours later, after Hillary lost:

“We are now under total Republican rule. Textbook fascism. F____*you, white America. F___*you, you racist, misogynist pieces of s___. G'night.”

And they think we didn't notice.

Meh.... Liberals can be just as racist as Conservatives and vise versa. I have witnessed it my entire life. I don't pay any attention to people who compartmentalize, other than to poke fun at them.

But, if you look close enough, there is plenty of room for criticism of the right and I believe that 90% of it is self inflicted. I lean right on most issues, but I left the GOP party because of a needless Iraq war, increasing frivolous spending, religious zealots, and a Veterans Administration that killed 2 of my friends indirectly through neglect.

I am disgusted with both parties because they never walk the talk.

The idea that rightist "ideology requires pettiness" can be equally made.

Both extremes are inherently petty.

And they think we didn't notice.

Nice find, thanks for the link. Captain Capitalism was right on. I came from meager beginnings but I never was envious of other people’s things. Hell, it provided inspiration for me to strive to improve myself both as a person and financially. Now I’m retired, debt free, healthy, and extremely grateful. Maybe that’s part of the left’s current situation? They aren’t grateful for the things they have. They allow themselves to dwell on thoughts of lack, anger, revenge, and other destructive negative emotions. We see it all the time right here on DP. Judging by the various responses on this thread from the left, not a single one has given one iota of thought to the article. If they even read it.

TBH, it's a pretty sad state of affairs when the only Democrats that stand a chance in non-gerrymandered southern districts are people who can fall back on their military credentials as proof that they don't hate America.

The Deep South is a goddamned cesspool.

In person, I'm looking at four of the greatest presidents ever right now on Mt. Rushmore, two of whom were military first. GOPs tried to hide away T. Roosevelt as VP only to have McKinley assassinated. GOPs have run military candidates with great success since REDMAP 2010.

We all know TR saved our National Parks, Forests, and Monuments from his Gilded Wing. He was the first president to advocate for National Health Care. Built the Panama Canal taking over from the French. Busted up the monopolies. Thankfully got rid of Taft in 1912. Great military minds have great vision.

We're now at the 'profile', G. Washington only, great photo. He certainly had military credentials and was a man of vision. A. Lincoln as a wartime President. T. Jefferson with his Louusiana Purchase and great documents.

Look at General IKE building our interstates based on Hitler's Audobons, JFK taking us to the Moon using the German rocket scientists. Great tech advances due to war, such as anhydrous ammonia to make TNT in WWI. Along with the great tech advances from NASA. The incredible tech advances your generation will see based on nuclear fusion, now at ITER and W X-7.

If you haven't seen the ad for Lt. Col. (20-year Ret.) Amy McGrath, it's on Daily Kos. She certainly stands for health care and lots of other progress---ive issues in a pragmatic way. GOPs won't be able to stain her with Pelosi. Her opponent, GOP Rep. Andy Bart is a stooge for McConnell. Amy was very respectful in going after both.

None of the 435 CDs are the same. I think it's great that these new age DEMs are representing their constituents, not just blindly being a purist for one wing or another in the several wings of the DEM party .
