I feel real bad for respectable members of the GOP

I'm about 20 years into my political education. I'm a Texan. My main subject of interest has always been elections. I watch the candidates, platforms, conventions etc, but I mean the tool of electing. I pay close attention to the Voter ID nonsuch, the redrawing of districts, gerrymandering, etc. I believe in PR, not plurality and winner take all. I have seen many good GOP members fight for their base according to the rules and norms of governing. I disagree with their principles, but that is to be expected. Governing is about compromise. I don't believe our elections are entirely fair, but it is not because of voter fraud, it is because of who you allowed o vote for in the first place.

The respectable members of the GOP must be sick right now. They have a majority in the House, the Senate, governors, I believe, president, a Supreme Court And they can DO NOTHING! History and politics has aligned to give them all the tools that should be needed to turn this country into some pathetic imitation of the 1950s. And they can do nothing! Nothing, not one thing!

For once I believe in divine retribution. I believe God gave them the power, then gave them Trump and started laughing. Katrina was retribution for gays, you reap what you sow, all the cliches they used to mask their contempt of people not like them, and now their roosters are coming to roost. This guy is going to fracture the party bigly, yugely, the independent left and right is on the rise. This guy may be the impetus for another realignment by Conservative rage. Anyways I'm glad. I feel that the GOP has been using the election system as a tool in the wrong way for a good long time. I know I've seen it go on for 20 years now. Finally all that groundwork comes to bear fruit, and it is cheaply made tacky, GOP GMO fare with a Trump brand sticker on it.

"Respectable" being defined as anti trump?

I don't think members of congress who do not have the best interest of their voters as their top priority are at all respectable

And that includes republicans who exist only to be reelected

I'm saying that the GOP use God all the time. They say that when bad things happen to people they don't like it is God attacking something about their character. Punishment. And now I feel like God may be punishing them for being so vain that they would deign to say what God does and why.

Trump is new. He has not been around 20 years. I had beliefs that there were respectable member before him, and after him. He is not definition in my thought process.

There are members of Congress who do not have their voters best intentions in mind. This is true. There are members of congress who do have their voters best interests in mind. This is also true. If you are running for an elected position with no term limits the goal should always be getting reelected. Thats like not getting fired at your performance review.

There are very few respectable members of congress.

And certainly not enough to change the corrupt nature of the institution as it exists today

Look at the statement further. When the ministers say gays are going to destroy a nation it is an affirmative statement. My statement used "feel like, maybe" I'm not asserting a fact I am offering a suggestion. The ministers state it as fact.

So shoot it right. You know everything about the motivations off every single congress person ever. Life is easy when you know it all I guess. I actually read books by them, look at voting records. Its a hobby. I have found some that work for the people. I thought I used to know everyone was corrupt and then I learned to flaw of using broad strokes and claiming to know it all, there is a ton more and knowitallism is the lazy mans way to find HIS answer, not THE answer.

Yeah, no. You don't get to declare (or contemplate) God's will against the character of others either (no matter how wrong bigots are).

Breathe deep dude. I can decalre, contemplate, profess do any dang thing I want. You can kiss mine if you think you got ANY way of stopping me from my first amendment rights. I don't care how you see him. You don't need to care how I see him. But don't you get the irony of trying to shut down my speech because you don't like it, while we talk about that very issue. I admit, I'm not too good with sarcasm, but you could teach a class on being ironic.

I usually look like a hypocritical asshole. Don't mean I am. Just means I look so to you. I'm ok with that. I've known how to piss people off for a long time. Whats funny though is you stop thinking as soon as church comes up. What you mean to say is that you know what Church said about that, Pffftttt Duh! And your done. Try reading the OP again and maybe again. I read most stuff a few times before I talks about it.

so you posted that. Did this thought come from Church? Is this a belief held by the Church. Is this a belief you have "You don't get to declare (or contemplate) God's...." To me the opening says you are telling me I can't do what you think you con't do. Or contemplate means that you feel like you are not equal with him in mental ability. You capitalize God. I do sometimes, but no where near to always. I'm sure you do it all the time.

Am I wrong?

I've been atheist all my life, including childhood. I've never for a moment accepted anything supernatural. I capitalize God and He (when referencing God) out of respect.

One who condemns others for presuming God's condemnation cannot turn around and do the same without looking hypocritical and petty.

There are some people with such low levels of common sense that I really don't think they know how to see, smells, feel, taste, and touch and come back with an opinion off what they had to care much for their report.
