Deplorables

With or without that asinine comment of hers....those voters never intended to vote for her anyway. However, the R's took that comment and rode it all the way to the WH. Much like Romney's 47% comment that the D's played over and over until it nailed an Obama win. But...in reality...much like Hillary's failed campaign...Romney wouldn't have won and that statement IMO made no difference even though people still use that as the reason for his loss instead of looking at the whole picture....much like Hillary...look at the whole picture on why and it sure wasn't solely due to that 1 comment.

And much like Clinton, the comment was taken out of context (in Clinton's case, dropping the "to grossly generalize, half..." and in Romeny's case dropping the economic context). In neither case was the storm created around the comment legitimate.

After the last Six Months, the phrase Deplorable is normalized.

Let's look at the reality of her statement. "Grossly generalizing, half of Trump supporters...". Ok, so let's say 25% of Trump supporters. That's maybe 10% of the country. You don't think 10% of the country are bigots of one form or another? I do. Her statement was not really inaccurate. It was just in poor taste and negative generalizations are always a bad idea.

Most every one is bigoted to a degree.

And 10% or more of the country is to a degree as to be called a bigot. Probably more than that, adding up all the racists, sexists, homophobes, Islamophobes, etc. She wasn't technically wrong. Clinton's mistake was in presentation (the "gross generalization") and thus attempting to smear.

I've never seen someone do so much damage to themselves in such a short period of time. I know his handlers tried to keep him out of trouble, but that never materialized because he refused to listen. And, now...well, now we have this.

I'm starting to wonder now if it's intentional.

I think it's very possible that Trump wants out at this point. I'm still convinced that Trump never in a million years thought he would win the GOP primaries, let alone the presidency.

He certainly doesn't like living in the WH, calling it a "dump." He apparently thinks of it like I would Motel 6.
