Some reasons why Gays Trans should be banned

FDA regulations bans men who have had sex with another man from giving blood. In combat, any one of your buddies might be called to donate blood to keep you alive if you get wounded. Gays/Trans should never donate blood. End of story.

Bigots want to use the power of the government to force citizens to conform to their idea of social norms.

Just wondering of you see a difference in banning trans serving and denying reassignment surgery?

I agree some of those looking for all out service bans could want this, but nit those opposing the reassignment surgery.

There're some folks who're born with confusing genetics, xxy, xyy, etc.
These folks may have some legitimate issues which can be helped by way of gender reassignment surgery.

Male brains and female brains develop differently based on conditions outside of the person developing.
There're some folks whose brain developed as someone of the opposite sex.

Then there's the tumblr crowd who seem to enjoy being victims—like Trump does.
These folks are the folks who're just nutty.
They do not need gender reassignment surgery.
They need a fresh refreshing look at the world and their own lives.

The first two categories are made up of many fewer people than the last category. [I am assuming here]

But it's the folks in this last category who bring the ****ery to the situation.
Well, I mean along with their haters.
It'd be nice of the tumblr crew and their haters would step aside and let grown-ups deal humanly and humanely with the small number of people who actually need this sort of help.

Get the feeling how? I don't see it that way at all. The military doesn't take any applicant that has a disease or a health issue that requires special treatment. Are you not aware a transgender requires monthly hormone treatments including blood tests and other medical issues? How the Hell is the military to accommodate all their needs if they are stationed in a jungle, desert or third world position? They can not insure anyone with special needs the healthcare that they need.
I haven't read all the posts but I know what I have posted and trans folks do not meet the requirements considered fit for military duty as stands today. Period. They as trans signing up for the military would not meet basic standards. I posted the gender standards somewhere. Now if they are in the military as their born gender and decide to change that gender then the waters get murky.

What you brought up is what people ignore, hormone therapy is not simple, hormones need refrigeration and special application, which means pretty much anyone who needs hormone therapy meaning all transgendered people would be un deployable.

Were It me I would allow them in limited numbers and keep them stateside, that would allow the military to understand how to handle them and adapt if one day science makes it possible, without throwing a wrench at the military and without burdening the military with non deployable people being deployed. Heck 10 years from now someone could find a way to solve this problem but no one has that answer today.

YOu bring up a very good point about refrigeration of hormone therapy. But not only hormone therapy but many medications need refrigerated.

The military must have basic standards in who is fit to serve wherever they are called. If military is sent to a desert or a jungle or on a submarine or aircraft carrier to boots on the ground fighting a real conflict, who the heck is going to be able to guarantee any medication?

THEY CAN NOT do such a thing. If someone with any medical needs no matter race or sexual orientation etc. does not meet basic standards then they are out. Period.

If someone with flat feet, asthma, poor vision, heart murmurs etc can keep someone from enlisting into the military, why is it so hard for others to understand that anyone with a need for special healthcare needs doesn't pass the grade either.

With over 15,000 transgenders currently serving in the military...it looks like the military is adapting pretty well.

As long as trans can receive their healthcare needs.... In the military that is not feasible.
That is why they have standards of who and who can not enroll in the military.

No, you miss the whole concept completely. The things you listed are rejected because they impact performance. Not because of cost. Trans healthcare does not impact performance and will cost less than boner meds.

Here's a video of transgender soldier serving in Kandahar. Taking his weekly medication [3:00 in the video] doesn't seem to be a problem for him or the military...so why is it such a problem for you?

It sounds like the White House calculated that it would put Democrats in a tough spot and it backfired because it pissed off some big name Republicans. I remember screaming at my TV when McCain was a hold out on Don't Ask, Don't Tell and now even he is calling this out for what it is.

They didn't have a chance to calculate anything? To my knowledge, Trump did this on a whim (presumably to shore up base support), talking to only Mattis and the extent of that is questionable.

Do we have any evidence that he legitimately consulted anyone?

Every trump ****up is to be used against spineless invertebrate GOP lawmakers, including at the all-important state level for 2021 remaps .
