A House IT staffer at the center of a congressional computer equipment scandal has been arrested by federal officials and charged with bank fraud, Fox News has learned.

Fox News is told officers and agents from the U.S. Capitol Police, the FBI and Customs and Border Protection were involved in the arrest of Imran Awan at Dulles International Airport.

Awan, 37, of Virginia, pleaded not guilty Tuesday to one count of bank fraud during his arraignment in federal court in Washington, D.C. He was released but will have to wear a GPS monitor and abide by a curfew.

I assume none of the network evening news reported this. Mueller was head of the FBI when Awan set up hs spy ring on the Congressional payroll.

Spy ring??? Did not read that in the link?

It's a petty theft case, but percolating with dire implications in the bubble.

Majority of post edited out because I found it to be quite stupid.

Simple fact is that this person is accused of committing one count of bank fraud and attempting to wire the money to Pakistan. In addition to the OP, see:

Politico also has something on it.

Before we rage at each other, I just want to make sure that all ragers agree that if the staffer of someone on their perceived side commits a crime of any sort, they will hold that crime against persons in that perceived side, regardless of evidence that they had anything to do with it.

A petty theft case?

FBI spokeswoman Lindsay Ram said FBI and US Capitol Police arrested Awan at Washington's Dulles International Airport as he attempted to travel to Pakistan.

The complaint and affidavit against Awan accused him and his wife, Hina Alvi, of attempting to commit bank fraud by misrepresenting themselves on a loan for a rental property they had and then wiring the proceeds to two unnamed persons in Pakistan.

And why is the FBI involved in this petty theft case?

The attorney for a Democratic House IT staffer, Imran Awan, who was arrested on Monday over bank fraud charges, says the charges are a political move and "began as part of a frenzy of anti-Muslim bigotry in the literal heart of our democracy, the House of Representatives."

Attorney for Imran Awan: Charges are politically motivated 'anti-Muslim bigotry'

So what is it, petty theft charges or anti-Muslim bigotry? Remember, Jane Sanders is being charged with bank fraud and claimed her charges are motivated by anti-women bigotry.

Liberals and fraud go perfectly together - Jane Sanders, Awan, Bernie Madoff, etc....
