Trump’s ‘Embarrassing Spectacle’ At Boy Scout Jamboree Panned By Former Scouts

yea, i know
you told us about all of that praise he was offering
after insisting you had heard his address to the scouts

That's true, he did offer praise and told them that all the skills they learn will benefit them all their lives. Clearly you didn't listen.

you thought it was a good speech to boy scouts
many of us did not
i shared a cite explaining why many of us did not find tRump's speech to be either good or appropriate for the audience

The parts relevant to boy scouts were good, the political issues injected and unrelated were not.

then are you now acknowledging it was not a good speech?

Notice how he began by saying no one wants to talk politics but then he does talk politics. Let me suggest that this is a sign of senility.

An official with the Boy Scouts of America apologized to the Scouting community on Thursday for the political content of President Donald Trump's speech at the National Scout Jamboree...

The speech represented a marked change from prior presidential speeches to the Boy Scouts, which generally discussed values and service rather than partisan issues. A number of former Scouts criticized the nakedly partisan speech, and CNN contributor and retired Lt. Gen. Mark Hertling said the President "did not provide the proper example" to the crowd of young men.

I don't think he's senile. I think he's extremely child-like. He gets on a roll, starts feeling as if everyone in the room is adoring him, and believes he can say or do anything and people will simply cheer and praise him for it.

When he made that campaign during the campaign that he could shoot someone in NY and not lose a vote? In hindsight I'm thinking it wasn't just blustery campaign rhetoric, I think he literally believes that.

I think that's also why he slipped some info to the Russians in a meeting awhile back. He just got all giddy with his self-perceived aura.

Christ on a cracker, the man is so off his rocker.

Out just now:

President Trump said the head of the Boy Scouts called his recent address “the greatest speech that was ever made to them,” days before the chief scout executive apologized for the president's remarks.

Trump faced criticism for the speech last Monday, which many saw as inappropriately political for the jamboree setting.Trump denied to The Wall Street Journal that there was any “mixed” reaction to his speech, noting the standing ovations from the crowd. His comments to the Journal were first made public in a transcript of the interview Politico published Tuesday.

“And I got a call from the head of the Boy Scouts saying it was the greatest speech that was ever made to them, and they were very thankful,” Trump said.
